From April to May, I ordered several garments from TRR. Some items were as described, however, three garments had considerable damage (holes, pilling, tearing, and general signs of wear). The garments were listed as in supreme condition. When trying to contact "Customer Service", I was met with a vague answer (after 2 weeks of waiting) - they "were not able to help" as the items - according to the "agent" could not be returned. I responded that the items were damaged and not as described. They did not consider this and simply responded that they could not assist me. I asked politely to be transferred to another department or "agent", however, this was "not possible". I am so disappointed and now regard TRR as a fraudulent company. Unfortunately. Thus, DO NOT PURCHASE.
I purchased a bag from the realreal and it contained a travel size toothpaste in a pocket. They clearly do not inspect the bags before they resell them, and are negligent in their processing. This was also especially alarming considering this is a personal and used toiletary in the midst of a global pandemic. I reached out to customer service (which is an annoying chatbox) and they were unhelpful and only offered me a $25 site credit or a return label. This is so unacceptable to me, they did not take responsibility for this serious oversight, and do not value their customers enough to make things right when they clearly messed up. I will not be shopping here anymore and advise others to spend their hard earned money with companies that actually value their customers and pride themselves on doing good business.
I wholeheartedly support resale for environmental reasons. However, I am very disappointed and upset to have received another item DAMAGED BY TRR STUPIDLY PLACED SECURITY TAG (Photos attached). I don't know if this is intentional or simply stupidity. This is another example of why I will not consign with TRR again-I cannot trust TRR to not damage my items by punching holes through lovely items. The consigner of the items pictured below has now lost a sale due to TRR negligence. This is really awful. I have attached photos and it is clearly a huge TRR problem because I have now lost count of how many items TRR has ruined with the stupidly placed TRR tags punched through items' fabric instead of through the sturdy brand tags. It is so irresponsible and wasteful, and I wish I knew who consigned this because they are going to suffer a loss due to TRR's irresponsibility. I will be shopping elsewhere.
Customer Service and consignment dept. is very difficult to work with. Most of my items listed were done as "get paid now" and I had to make numerous calls to properly define and depict accurately was was for sale. Also on my consignment account they put wrong items. My consignment manager Rachel Ace only answers with "I do not know" or " I am busy". Please be very cautious in considering to do any business with this firm..
I had try to sell my shoes with them they told me they will list them for 450, but after some time they had listed them for $ 395 and on top of that they had given 20% discount on those shoes, i called them and asked they to return my shoes since i am losing a lot of money they said it's already sold. Without my permission, they sold my shoes on sale, I called them and try to talk to their manager but no one replied, only email communication and still I haven't received any money from them. Basically, this is a fraud website, please don't trust them, they will promise you a lot and in the end, you will lose your money.
The payout is ridiculous! I got 10-15 dollars (20 at most) from 500 - 900 USD items. They don't even let you approve pricing beforehand, they just sell them immediately before you can request a return and transfer you 7 measly USD. I've sold with other consignors where I've gotten 100 USD per items for the same brands. I feel I got taken advantage of, I am never consigning with them ever again and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
I had made a few purchases on TRR in the past and felt satisfied, if not overly impressed. The shipping costs are expensive ($12.95) in comparison to other resale sites and items take up to a week from the purchase to arrive. My last purchase was a DVF wrap dress which arrived a few days later than expected and was noticeably damaged. The sleeve was misshapen (probably by a hanger) to the point that bulged outward when dress was on. It was very noticeable and I can't understand how this was not picked up when someone inspected the dress. In contrast, perhaps since they work for themselves, I have found that Poshmark sellers are always upfront about flaws. The return process has been a huge hassle. First, TRR deducts another $12.95 for return shipping. This means that I was on the hook for nearly $25 for a dress that was damaged to begin with and misrepresented by TRR. I emailed customer service and was told I would be refunded shipping, but the wording seemed purposely vague about whether both shipping charges would be refunded. They gave me back $11.95, still one dollar short of one way shipping and missing the return trip costs. I emailed again and this message was ignored, so I called the customer service number and no one answered. Customers are given a text contact, but no one has answered my message there either. I am sticking to Poshmark, as both a buyer and seller. It is not perfect, but I do have more control.
UPDATE: Finally spoke to someone at customer service and they are saying that the other shipping charges will not be refunded because they found no damage to dress. I included all pictures and a detailed description of the issue, so they are either lying or visually impaired. I was told "they would look into the matter again" and I would receive an email, but the rep could not say when.
Die Qualität ist erstklassig und es dauerte 3 Tage, bis es ankam! Vielen Dank für Ihre harte Arbeit, viel Glück und Wohlstand!
I have been shopping with TRR since they've gone live with their items. Everything started off good until this year. The items purchased have not been what they say. They shipped me a men's size 8 shoe and when I tried to return it they have me the 3rd degree, and then had the audacity to take shipping fees from my returned monies.
Don't ever consign with them.
The intake process is horrific. As soon as your items go live them mark them down 20% (yea sure take the extra money)
And then when it's time to pay put your funds, whether it's check or direct deposit. It never arrives.
I have/had some very good high end items and they sold my belongs for less than they did with someone with the same item whose Gucci loafers were busted up badly.
I have pictures and proof. I think it's time for an attorney to get involved.
It's been 2 months and I have YET TO RECEIVE MY MONEY.
I I sent 4 pieces of jewelry to consign. Per their on line account, these items were stuck in "processing" for 4 months. After multiple tries of contacting them, where one can only reach a bot, before they allow you to talk to a representative. The very kind customer care agents, say they will look into it/rectify it/solve it, etc. The last one confirmed that he was was wondering if my items were lost and that he would initiate a buy back if I did not receive items in a week. Here we are 2 weeks later, no return, no communication/no follow through. They are horrible to resolve any issues with. A bot on a text as the only customer care option is unsatisfactory. Do not doo your business here!
I have been a long time, major consignor and customer with The Real Real and find that this company as of late is solely out for their bottom line and not the end customer nor consignor. Additionally, several of their employees tend toward condescending and generally rude behavior, forgetting that their top clients must be treated respectfully as they're the crux of the business.
Disappointing to also note, TRR employees are asked to put their preferred pronouns in all email signatures. And, pride propaganda is plastered all over their website particularly this month. TRR needs to understand that it's a bad look to engage politically or promote its sexual beliefs. What place does this minority opinion have in fashion? Am confused.
I bought some items from real real, the quality is very bad totally misrepresented and very expensive… cannot wear in public, you can actually get better brand items from garage sale or eBay.It will be my first and last experience on this site ever.
RUN! This company is so poorly ran. They will have someone basically take your items, leave you with nothing, and then weeks/months go by with no sales or communication. Thousands of dollars basically missing and stolen by this company from me. They do not reply to inquiries or provide good customer service. NEVER have them sell your designer items!
I have order two hand Bags in this "TRR" website so my experiences is great things in this features so real product and real time to visit again.
I purchased an inexpensive purse and wallet. I had been looking at much more expensive ones, but decided to "try out" the website with something less costly. Glad I did. Shipping info showed the wallet had shipped, but not the purse. The purse shows up... NOT the wallet. I waited to see if it would arrive. Nope. There were many "text" sessions with several different people and getting nowhere. After a week I got a hold of someone who told me the wallet is shipped. I sent them a picture of my purse in my hand and told them I HAVE the purse, where is the wallet? After threatening to dispute the whole charge with my credit card company, I was given a refund for the wallet. They admitted they are having some "inventory issues." Lovely! So glad I didn't purchase the $2500 bag I was originally looking at! Buyer beware!
First purchase was not so good. Jeans came with all kinds of puckering around the zipper caused from excessive wear and spandex content. Jeans were listed as good. I won't be using the realreal again. Disappointed.
RealReal clothes are trash. Clothes from garage sales look even better. You'll be dusmayed when you return the items because you cannot get a full refund. ReaReal deducts nonsensical items like "Promotional, etc." that has nothibgbto do with you. Beware this site is a scammer filtching you of your money through your order. AVOID!
You receive no money for your items I just sold a $360 shirt and they sold it for $30 and paid me nine dollars for it do not sale on this website it is a rip off!
My major problem with TRR is the quality description. On a number of times the condition has been listed as excellent but the true description is fair. I have attached images of a pair of Helmut Lang Pants and Chloe pants. Both were listed as excellent. They are hardly in excellent condition. I sent an email to complain and 6 weeks later received a very unsatisfactory response.
Additionally I have purchased an Iro Jacket which was marked as in pristine condition but it will pilling badly. Another jacket was listed as Black but was Navy. Very frustrating.
I have purchased a lot of items but I will not order again.
First time purchaser! I received the Jimmy Choo handbag and all was fine until I took it out of the box and noticed that it shed glitter everywhere. It is unusable! I immediately went to look at my order to start a return. No where on the original order did it say non returnable. When I went to my login to look at the purchase it states non returnable. I quickly sent an email and they responded and said they will get back to me in 3 to 5 days and have it resolved in 1 to 2 weeks. By that time, they will no longer accept a return. I will now have to go thru my CC company to stop the charge!
Beware! Awful customer service!
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
