After purchasing a bag from them I looked at reviews and began to panic. I panicked for nothing. My bag is in perfect condition. I did buy a Chanel and it said it was in good condition in which I agreed but there was a stain by the handle easily hidden but would have been nice if it were pictured. Doesn't bother me at all though. I doubt they sell fakes. Honestly. Why would they rush their reputation on a fake? Silly
Not very happy with this company at all! While purchasing a Louis Vuitton bag, you would think that you would receive a dust bag and offer to exchange it if it was clearly no what you thought it was, but they will not! Just want you to consign! Do not do business with this company. The customer service is horrible!
I have consigned fine jewelry with the RealReal on two occasions. The first was seamless and I have no issue. The second time has been so unprofessional in just about every level that it's hard to believe. The person who came to consign my items (multi-thousand dollars worth) knew.so little about designer fine jewelry that I hesitated but my previous experience had been positive I was willing to discount this. When my items were received by the consignor the description was so incorrect, stud earrings were in fact clips, hi end designer items were described w/o designer's name, vague generic descriptions. For the last 5 days I have not been able access my account on the website to check my listings and sales. I have emailed and received a response asking me more info and nothing more. I have thousands of dollars worth of jewelry items and have no access. SO FRUSTRATED
I received 48% of the listing price. They sold my boots at a discount after being on the site for a few days. They said this improves sales, but it's not like they were sitting there for months before they sold - They are Rag & Bone boots that would have sold anyway.
Seems like a stupid business decision on their part, and infuriating for me because the boots were priced so low to begin with. When asked, they claimed they priced high to make up for it, but they were listed $120 cheaper on The Real Real versus eBay... so I'm not sure what that's about. I should have just sold them myself. Huge rip off.
Also they sent back a Burberry coat for having a tear, and it took a month to get it back. Just a terrible company.
I have purchased 5 pairs of shoes from The Real Real. I was excited to try them and was disappointed with my first order. I ordered two pairs of shoes. One was alright but the other pair was horrible! It was extremely worn and not as pictured. I do not know if they edit the photos or just strategically position them when taking pictures. The heel was also loose and impossible to walk in. They were extremely nice on the phone so I decided to give them another try. My next pair was as described and great. However, my fourth pair was extremely stretched out and with damage that wasn't pictured or listed. They seem to list everything as very good and it is worrisome as a consumer. It seems very hit or miss and I am hesitant to ever purchase again and would never recommend to a friend.
I was hesitant to try something like this because of what happened to me, but there was a coupon I found and they give you I think $20 cash for your first purchase, so I figured I'd try it.
I ordered a sweater that you would wear over another top because I was concerned about anything fitted. The dimensions were listed, so I double checked with a tape measure, and figured it would fit. The description said it was in Good condition and there was slight pulling throughout.
When I received the item, there wasn't really much pulling as described, but there was a hole in the armpit, which wasn't mentioned AND it was STRETCHED out beyond belief! The site specified the waist as 40", which would have put it only a bit loose around my waist. This thing was so stretched out, I wasn't even sure how to put it on, when I got it on - the waist hung down to my knees! No kidding!
I put the stuff together to return it and I didn't read the returns well before I ordered- I saw there was a prepaid return label and thought that meant it was free, but as I read (after the fact) they deduct the return cost from the credit back to the account.
I hope it will actually get to them too, I noticed that the label has the address cut off a little bit...
I have purchased tons of clothes from the real real. And used the white glove service to consign some of my clothes. I have always had excellent service and rarely had to return an item. Since all the measurements are there with the picture I know if something will fit. I have found great purses, jackets, scarves and shoes. Especially love Etro and the prices are fair considering what they retail for. My items have been it perfect condition and delivery fast. I am addicted to the web site! Love love love it!
My bf wanted to surprise me with a loui Vuitton bag. The one we got was a fake one. It is a speedy 30 blue bag, on the site it shows a picture with the date code that starts with letter "V" and the texture. The one we got DOESN'T have date code and texture was waaaayy too different. We ask about it and the customer service named kristel and aida said we can go to a LV store to have it authenticated. We called LV customer service and they said, only authenticated LV that people can buy is from LV website or store or an authenticated receipt. Aida and Kristel said that LV cant tell if its real just coz of receipt. They keep pushing that the bag was authenticated.
We called again and talked to Norma. She said to send her pictures with the bag we received which we did and we quoted that were going to an LV store and once we find out that it was fake we can sue them of fraud. Next day they replied saying we can return it since we didn't get the item the one we expect MEANING they got scared and guilty of SELLING FAKE items.
So please people don't spend time of buying to this website because all they sell was FAKE. The FakeFake Store. Thank you.
I ordered a pair of Rene Caovilla satin sandals that had a large tule and beaded rose on each toe. The shoe looked beautiful online and listed condition as "very good". When I received them, the left shoe was perfect, and had both shoe looked like this one, I would have been 100% happy. The right shoe, however, looked as if it had been beat up. It had several stains on the satin and the tule rose looked like it was about to fall off, with beads missing. This rose was so messed up, it was twice the size of the other one. They did a good job of masking that in the site picture.
I was so disappointed, as I ordered these as a possible wedding shoe. I did not try and send them back because I have read other reviews saying customers never received their refunds. Maybe I can have them fixed and cleaned. I would probably not trust The Real Real again.
I called about a very high end watch as the posted specs made no sense and I wanted clarification prior to purchasing. First call I was told it would be 2 hours for a confirmation email response - that was 24 hours ago... NO reply. I called a moment ago and was treated VERY rudely by your call center rep. She told me she had all these other customers to get to, that perhaps I wasn't a good fit for the idea of purchasing "used" goods, and then she ended up hanging up without a proper professional "goodbye." I am now VERY reluctant to drop several thousand dollars on this watch. Whenever I have bought luxury jewelry at VCA, Cartier, and Tiffany... the red carpet has always been rolled out. This is a "new" way for me to consider making a "value" purchase but with the unprofessional attitude, lack of follow up, and all the posted "caveat emptor" posts... I think I'll be forced to just buy new at Cartier. Bummer for me! Bummer for the seller!
I purchased a gold chain bracelet for $4,250.00 they stated that the retail value was $10,000.00. I got the bracelet appraised for my insurance company, and it was valued at $6,500.00
Not such a get deal.
Stuff is garbage. No one will wear items with big holes in the front or seams so thread bare and stretched its totally coming apart! And charging shipping both ways? Something fishy going on here.
The RealReal.com *******893: Purchased Chloe Bag online, described as "very good condition, slight creasing, slight marks to interior, 14" length". Waited excitedly for item to arrive... Delivered with box partially open so anyone could reach inside. Handbag was old and very creased and short of 11 inches in length & much smaller than described! Value of handbag was a fraction of what I paid for it. Return process was arduous! Would not order from The RealReal.com again.
Just made my first and last purchase from them. The deceptive picture made the Prada handbag look MUCH nicer than the beat-up old thing is in person. I zoomed in on the picture, and it didn't show the frayed white on the black strap where it's attached to the ring. It stands out like a sore thumb, so the picture must have been touched up. The strap isn't even leather--it's cheap naugahyde. Dummy me didn't read their return policy before buying, and it can't be returned. Lesson learned! Goodwill will be getting it.
After my ex called the RealReal.com they had one of their employees come to my house when I was not home to meet my ex and that employee (Liz Logie) in Greenwich CT. Knowingly excepted stolen merchandise of which belonged to me, not only did I have the proper ID on the merchandise I also had photos of me purchasing the item in the store with close ups of me with it in hand with the correct cat # & model # (one of a kind) with photos, I called the Loss & prevention div. Of the RealReal.com and they refused to send it back to me even after I sent them all the proof they would need, I am positive I could have both Liz Logie and my ex arrested for this as my local authorities advised but for the moment I have chosen to seek legal council and all actions are pending.
I bought item from them, first order was ok shoes were dusty and had weird smell to it, bag you get what you paid for,
Second order i had a problem, i return one of them i had make a dispute from paypal,
Shipping cost is to much i paid the shipping for the return, but didn't refund me the whole amount, shipping cost 11 dollars i had to pay 9 dollars for return, but they didn't give me the whole price back oh well leave and learn
Wont comeback again... :(
Bought a LV Pochette pouch to try them out. It's a non refundable item. Received it and it is a fake handbag. Is not real leather. They did an amazing job with making it look real, but if you know your product you know this is not real. There is no pocket inside the handbag like the original one I own has. The hardware is slightly off as well. Louis Vuitton confirmed its a fake handbag too. Spent $345 on it. It was a test before spending on buying their more expensive product. Will pass this on to a neice and walk away with a lesson learned. Oh also. This was a final sale and is non refundable. I'm assuming there are fake and real items on there. Guess you've got to hope you won't get screwed.
Horrible company! Very greedy!
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, THEY ARE TERRIBLE
THEY CHARGE TOO MUCH FOR DISSATISFACTION
First they send you wrong described items (damaged, extremely worn, repaired) and charge a shipping fee of $11.95
And NOW to return the damaged old merchandise they charge a "RETURN SHIPPING AND PROCESSING FEE" of $8.95 which DOES NOT mean that the customer don't have to pay for shipping the merchandise back!
I received dirty dusty shoes after looking at the bright picture of beautiful heels on my computer screen... The pictures they take are very nice and it is difficult to see the damages as they do NOT highlight and describe properly.
Thanks.
I have done quite a bit of buying from The Real Real and mostly it has been good-about 60% accuracy with descriptions and timely receipt of goods. HOWEVER, in the past 6 weeks they have consistently screwed up all of my orders. I ordered a hat and they sent a different hat. I have to call and stay on hold for an eternity, send photos of the wrong hat, box it up, and drive it to the UPS facility. Then TRR acts like they are doing me a great favor of returning my money. On the next order THEY cancelled part of the order and I never received it. They charged me shipping (11.95) when the items were purchased and 11.95 AGAIN when the items were credit back to my account BUT I NEVER RECEIVED THE ITEMS. I had to call 4 times and the robot men in customer service failed to understand the issue. Ryan in customer service said there was NO MANAGER available to speak with me and hung up on me! Ryan said there was nothing he could do. And finally I ordered a shirt which was listed as "Excellent. No visible signs of wear" and it was stained and had pills on the front. Again I have to call, send photos, box it up and drive to UPS. When you put all of these incidents together it is a massive waste of time and energy and money. So finally I must say I have learned my lesson with this company. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Descriptions are wrong about 40-50% of the time and it costs about $24.00 to find out the true condition and size of the garments. While they do have some great deals the customer service is horrendous and the people who list the descriptions are careless. By the time you pay for shipping the deals aren't so great. AVOID his site and save yourself the huge headache.
This is the first time I purchased with the real real, I was so doubtful while I read those bad reviews after I placed an order. It's a Hermes bag, around $5k after tax. Their shipping is fast, placed order on Sunday recieved on tue morning, and the first thing I did was looking for authenticator to authenticate the bag, bababeli. She replied fast and said its authentic. So I think I am lucky. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars was the description. It says few white spots on the bottom, but actually there Are spots on the side of the bag but not very obvious. I think the description is not really reflecting the real conditions and I saw many people complained about that too. But anyway, I think this is a good purchase so far. Will recommend to friends too.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
