The title says it all. My shopping experience went smoothly and I got my shoes without any problems.
The listing said there was going to be a dust bag included. It should have clarified that it will not be the same brand. Other than this, I love my new shoes.
When the representative from TRR came to my house and picked up about 15 of the designer items - most of them brand new with tags she made it clear that when the item goes on sale it does not affect the seller's commission and I would still get paid off the initial selling price. I saw my brand new Just Cavalli Sweater selling for $95 and was ok with that. When the TRR put it on sale with 20% discount I was sure I would still get 55%. The sweater was sold in a heartbeat ( beautiful piece!) and to my surprise my commission is just $36! It is NONCENCE. They reduce the price without notifying sellers and at the end you get pennies. I am recalling all the items left and go somewhere else. There are plenty of other options to sell my designer clothing. Overall not happy with the experience and would not recommend using the TRR to anyone.
I was planning on purchasing a new TAG HEUER Link Lady from a local jewelry store so I went online to see what a fair price might be. My Google search turned up the exact watch I was looking for from THEREALREAL.COM. When The Real Real stated the watch's condition was pristine I figured I'd give it a shot THEY WEREN'T KIDDING! It was like brand new in the original box. I am thrilled!
I just received my order from TRR and I couldn't be happier. It all came neatly packaged and everything was in great condition. I got my order on time and everything went smoothly. I recommend TRR to everyone! They have an amazing selection of items, making it easy for me to find what I want.
Poor service and consignment. They have no idea what to prove items. They sold two of my purses for a quarter of the value. They admitted it, finally. They sold a Bottega Veneta bag for under 200.00 and gave 20 % off. Didn't need them to take 75% off an undervalued item. That have no idea what they're doing and also have no supervisors to speak. Sell the items yourself, not on the real real. It's a scam.
I purchased a David Yurman pave diamond pendant which I absolutely love. It was advertised as 2.78 ctw and item number DVY*******. That must be the RealReal' s stock number. I've search the web high and low and cannot find any proof that Yurman made this carat weight in the Albion pendant. I have no intention of returning it as I do love the piece however I would like the truth. Is this a true Yurman piece? What's the true carat weight? Will the RealReal give me a partial store credit for a reasonable amount if it turns out there was an error during authentication?
*******Update*****
So, for my final update. YES! The piece is real and 2.78 pave carats. I did manage to find 3 just like it with the exception of the price. By far, I got the absolute best deal, the lowest was3,299 and the highest was 4,399. The photos on TRR were percent accurate and the shipping was timely. I am in love with the piece and will be looking for more fabulous gently used items in the future.
TRR has worked with me to submit my returns finallly! Thank you site jabber and mark from TRR who is paying attention to unhappy customers. I think there's still opportunity for a customer service piece when they're in the luxury business, regardless of resale. However, I love the site and will be purchasing from them again.
The return policy terrible if you travel. And I'd like to think the majority of people that can afford TRR travel! And travel a lot. I'm gone for weeks with work or personal and then I'm stuck with a bunch of items that don't fit or aren't as listed in their description. Customer service is not helpful. They have great items though! It's unfortunate for the people consigning because with poor customer service, it will never last. It presents itself with an opportunity for someone to take what TRR is doing and uplevel it.
THIRD REQUEST! Spoke to your customer service rep 2 times and reported that not only was the bracelet (band) much shorter than stated on the web site and could no way fit a man's hand, the watch arrived dirty and with a dead battery. The battery cost $10.00 to replace, and $75.00 to polish. The big problem was the fact that this item would barely fit a child's wrist, again, not portrayed truthfully. Also, this item was charged to my credit card TWICE. Finally one of the charges were deducted, to be fair... I am therefore DISPUTING one of the charges of $1,000.00 until your customer service department realizes that I am dissatisfied with the ill fitting, dirty, non working watch, and until someone responds in any way to my complaints.
Customer service is excellent. I have made 33 purchases in 3 months from TRR. I have returned 14 items with no problem and will full credit to my credit card. I have spoken to polite representatives who have answered my calls quickly. I was able to return 2 items from Final Sale because on embellished sweater was damaged, and a purse did not show true color in the photo. I gave the site only 4 stars because of the jewelry photos. I purchased two 14K and 18K gold necklaces, and gold earrings. I had to return these 3 items because they looked like normal & delicate items on the model, but when I saw them, the were HUGE and unattractive. Two reminders: be aware that the jewelry in photos may be entirely different in size when you get it; and be careful when shopping the Real Big Sale because can get you stuck with items that you cannot use.
Bought my Chanel purse from them, it was as described, and very clean. Couldn't be happier! Will definitely purchase other designer items from them again. Also - the shipment came sooner than expected!
I recently heard about TheRealReal via a post on Bloglovin' from a blogger who uses their consignment services. She seemed to use them regularly and was very happy with the service. I decided to give them a whirl from the consumer end of things. My package arrived today (4 days early!) and I couldn't be more pleased. Every item was true to their photos and in impeccable shape. If I'd come here first to read the reviews I definitely would have hesitated. My experience was 100% positive. I ended up have several fabulous pieces of jewelry to give my daughter, mother, and sister for Valentine's Day.
Once again I have received TERRIBLE customer service and ZERO response after MANY attempts to reach the real real people regarding a handbag I never received. I have had such a bad experience in the past that I had decided never to use them again but after more than a year had passed I thought I'd try again. Shame on me. Now I've paid for a designer handbag which I've never received.
At The RealReal, we strive to exceed the expectations of our customers and consignors. To that end, when issues arise its our goal to address them as quickly as we can. For the holiday period, we extended our return policy for all purchases between 11/18/2016 and 12/31/2016. Therefore, all product had to be received in our warehouse by 1/31/2017. We understand that there may have been a misunderstanding, so our customer service team promptly refunded your order to your credit card. I hope you give us a second chance.
I think overall the real real is the bomb! I just scored a pair of $595 Alexander Wang shoes for $100 and a Chloe bag for $117 that's still selling in other sites for $600. It does take a little work (use favorites, compare prices on other sites, and wait wait wait for the ultimate markdown) For the most part everything can be returned except the "real big sale items" and handbags. If you use zoom to view the bags you can see any flaws before purchasing. Also you can search by the keyword "Pristine" if you want brand new items only. I did on one occasion need to return a item they said was not returnable but once I explained what was wrong with the item, they accepted the return and gave me my shipping fee back.
I recently started shopping with TRR and on my 3rd order had a problem. I contacted them thinking it was futile they would do anything about it but to my surprise TRR corrected the problem. I can honestly say that TRR is serious about selling authentic quality items that satisfy their customers.
I am now a bonafide TRR shopper!

Bought 2 pairs of Louboutins so far. I had few pairs of my own bought in stores, so I can confirm that what I received was authentic. Condition was above expectations and I paid like third of the normal price! Will buy more.
I bought several times here.
This site s clothes r really suck.
It is such a dusty waste of trash.
I have never seen such feedback as the late customer center.
If I can give 0 points, I would like to.
I purchased a pink oyster faced Tagheuer women's watch. It seemed to be fine but when I checked the time at, end of my workday, it was three hours behind. I then took it to a jeweler who could not fix it.
If something seems too good to be true- it is!
They deal with a financing company called "Affirm" that some wonderboy from the Ukaraine supposedly founded. At first it was great. They didn't check my credit, which needs improving so I was able to pay loans for items from RealReal and I was building my credit. Then they changed what they told me was their "agorythms" on the computer. I kept getting turned down for $30 items. I never missed a payment and paid things off early. A few items were in bad shap when I got the, holes, loose buttons, etc, but nothing major... then I find out they do their financing thru Cross Country Bank. This bank has a very bad reputation. They tell me they can't help me because Affirm (Cross Country) is a 3rd party company. No more Real Real. They lost a very loyal customer.
I have consigned seven pairs of designer shoes and boots with this site over the past 12 months and have been extremely happy/content with the service. I take excellent care of my clothing and shoes and it's great to be able to make some of the investment(in my happiness!) back and pass them on for someone else to enjoy. Great business platform and service, I hope it continues to do well. Charity de Meer is excellent! Keep up the good work guys...
I love this site. You can always count on them. I bought over 10 dresses and never had problem with items. Professional and honest. Highly recommentd
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.

Hi Elena,
Thank you for your feedback. We really value the opinions of our consignors and we are always looking for ways to improve.
We took a look at your consignment and your items were priced according to market. The items were taking a bit longer to sell so a discount was applied (the Cavalli sweater took 25 days). In our consignment contract we state that we will use a 20% discount when items don't sell quickly to ensure that you, as the consignor, will get paid. We will take your feedback into consideration that we should be more up front with updates on this discount. Thank you again.
