A blog that offers advice on where to find the best fashion news, trends, and recommendations is called The RealReal Fashion Blogs Sites. The website also has a section with buying tips for various brands and a price comparison tool so you can locate the greatest offers online.
I used to sell and buy from the Realreal until I bought a Cartier watch that was yellow gold. However, when I checked on the official Cartier website and upon contacting them, they advised that it comes only in rosegold. This is when I got skeptical about its authenticity and started comparing the images on the Realreal website and the official Cartier website to see so many differences beside the gold color. I contacted them to cancel or recall the order the same day I had ordered, but they refused and advised that I can return it once received and they will get it reauthenitcated when they saw the images I attached that clearly show their watch is fake. I checked other Cartier watches on their website and found them fake when compared them with images of the same model that Cartier posted on their website. I would never trust this Company again, they started with some ethics and now they have shifted to quick easy profit using the reputation they had built for themselves. It has become an unsafe platform just like Ebay. I was referring many of my friends to this website as guaranteed authentic till I discovered how unethical the way they do business. I wouldn't be surprised if most of their Hermes Birken and Kelly are also fake, which is extremely hard to be able to tell its authenticity, since most Hermes bags in the world are fake due to the fact that it's extremely difficult to buy one straight from Hermes even if someone has the money to buy it. Images attached for reference: the authentic is the rosegold with 8 screws and a serial number and the other 2 images (yellow gold) are for the fake watch being sold on Realreal with only 4 screws, no serial number and messy stitches on the strap.
I hope such conduct is going to be reported by other buyers when discovered so that they don't sell items whose actual value may be only 10% of their price value making tons of profit by cheating their customers who trust the name.
End of 2022 I forgot my password so I made another account. They blocked my account and were unable to fix the issue for more than 3 months. They told me to use a relatives account and use a different payment method. So I did just that and they blocked their account. I am still unable to make a successful purchase. After 6 months I was able to purchase but 2 days after they canceled my order due to security risks. I was instantly refunded for 2 items but the third item took over 30 days for them to receive and authenticate. Just for them to tell me they will only give me store credit. The Real Real refuses to refund me for an eligible item. I'm stuck with $700 in store credit that I can't even use because these $#*!ing morons don't know what they're doing. I have never dealt with such $#*!ty service. No one is a help over message and every time you talk to someone you don't even understand what they're saying over the phone and the line disconnects with every person I've talked to. Are they being trained to hang up mid call? Three words. Liars, Thieves and idiots.
I am pretty happy with The RealReal. However, they charge too much for shipping. And they use DHL and the United States Postal Service now instead of UPS, and it takes forever to get your items.
The RealReal gives salespeople a platform to find customers without having to go door-to-door or search through other stores. Customers can easily locate the items they require using a simple search engine and then place their order online.
They have good selection of items. But I only want to give 2 stars for the shopping experiences. For one thing their shipping is high, and even though they made mistake, you need to ask to get your money back.
I had to contact 3 times to get my return shipping back even it was due to their listing errors and it took so long for a representative to response. It was really a waste of time for each process. As some companies always try to make customers happy, this one does not bother to try.
I recently found out that they charge the sale tax according to the original price instead of the actual sale price, so pay extra attention with your money! Before pay, look at your tax to make sure they are right.
I do not know if I can trust the items to be real any more. Two items I brought, the tags have unclear print just like some fake items I saw. I have never seen any real item has such unclear print label.
Horrible experience sending an item for…
Horrible experience sending an item for consignment. I sent a full length beaded gown in the quality garment bag and with the wooden hanger that clasps the garment in place on the hanger. They sent the dress back in one of those cheap garment bags that was half the size and meant for a suit jacket or a very short dress. My gown was bunched up in a pile at the bottom. I can't store my dress without a bag, and now it needs to be steamed since it was balled up for days. I tried speaking with customer service to get them to replace the garment bag, but they claim to have sent everything back and at best will give me a credit to the store. Horrible customer service experience. Do NOT consign with them - they will not take care of your belongings.
Bought a Chanel bag for several thousands of dollars and it was described as only having mild residue on the inside. I received the bag and it has deep creases on both sides, fraying threads, and two large marks on the bottom, where leather is missing and beyond a scuff. The bottom of the bag is also discolored and the pouch was missing. You can only contact these people by chat so nobody will ever answer the phone and they kept saying that they standby. There was only residue. However, I called them within hours of receiving the item. They said they will do a one time store credit. This site is beyond disgusting they will not accurately list items, and I would refrain from buying anything that does not have a return policy on it because they will not honor it on their end.
An excellent blog to read is The RealReal Fashion Blogs. They discuss about how to appear fantastic while you are wearing a particular clothing and have some excellent ratings. If you're interested in fashion or want to learn more about it, this blog is absolutely for you because it has so many interesting articles!
I looked into selling my brand new Armani blazer but didn't follow up on it. Next time somehow I get a call from a rep offering to buy the item for real real. I send photos etx. This goes on for few days. She finally sends me price approximately and asks if I want to make an appt to bring item in which I do. Upon bringing it to Manhasset store I am told they don't accept this brand at all and it's not on their list. Wasted me time and drive over. Skip. What they pay is paltry. Sell on eBay or poshmark
They make it VERY hard to return items and shipped items often arrive mislabeled. For example, past were labelled as 100% silk but when they arrived on the tag it was listed as viscose. Then they wouldn't let me return it because it was "non-returnable". They also listed an item as 'very good' condition, but it showed up with a huge makeup stain which rendered it unwearable. This company is running a scam. Stay away!
I had over 50 items listed with the RealReal and I requested them back to sell on another platform. I did this because they were inaccurately pricing my items and they took larger cuts than competitors.
When I went to have my items collected, I was promised I would have my property returned within 30 days. They lost my property for 7 items. For only one items lost they offered 80% of the value that they appraised the item for, so I was forced to accept their pricing and then on top of that they collected a commission off of the item they lost. The rest of the items lost have yet to be reimbursed.
Every time I attempted to contact customer service, I was forced to speak to someone new who gave me conflicting information than the previous customer service rep.
Once they have your property, it might as well not be your property because they give you no choice to what happens with your property. In the process of receiving some items back, they mailed me other people's property and when I told them that, they did not seem concerned, ask what I received or gave me instructions to mail it back. I mailed back items that were not mine and received no confirmation that they received it.
They treat their VIP clients like crap - how do I know? I'm a VIP client and they never help me resolve any of my issues. The account rep I have never calls me back - the managers never do either - they don't care about their clients. It's very frustrating to work with them. They only care about making money but not servicing their clients. Stay clear!
I purchased a LVuitton bag for $1600. I entered my address in France, paid for the international transportation. Two days later, I got a message asking for an additional $350 for taxes. Why wasn't this included from the beginning? When I purchase something on Amazon.com or any other shop in the US for a delivery in Europe, the price includes EVERYTHING. Only TheRealReal plays such a game. I contacted them to cancel the order but they didn't care. You don't pay, you don't get the bag. A shame.
If I could give this rating 0 stars, I absolutely would. I bought an LV bag in late November. The straps literally disintegrated because they were so old or it was not stored properly. The leather snapped in half. Two of the strap buckle connectors ripped at the seams a few weeks after I received the bag, and I had only used it a few times. Due to their 14-day return policy, they could not provide a solution, even after texting (yes, they don't have an actual customer service line) 5 different people. Plus, they asked me to re-explain my problem each time, even though it was on the same text thread. Their only solution was for me to consign the (unusable) purse. RIDICULOUS! I've never been more appalled and disappointed by a customer service team (or lack thereof). I would NEVER order from or recommend this company again.
I decided I wanted to get rid of a few of my luxury pieces from my collection. I tried selling them on my own but had no luck so I turned to the RealReal. I made an appointment to go to their Connecticut store and all went well. They took my pieces that were in pristine condition and actually worth some money. I thought I was going to get a decent cut.I was very very very wrong. My Oscar de la renta ring sold. I got 10 dollars! 10! Now my other lv piece is still being sold but I doubt I'll get anything for that too! I'm glad I didn't hand over my bags I spent over 1,000 dollars on to get the vachetta done by Louis Vuitton. I'd be getting close to nothing for those too! They take your stuff and you get pennies in return. I will never give them any of my items again! Neither should you.
Ordered a Gucci shoulder bag Medium size. On arrival discovered it was Small. The most they would do is give me a $50 credit. Even though the description clearly listed it as Medium, and I showed them other IDENTICAL items listed as Medium with larger dimensions. Also they use UPS for international delivery, and they take double the fees and keep the difference. $440 import/duty fees that The Real Real would not reimburse, so if I return the item I'm instantly out $440 LOL. Never using this site again. Garbage attention to detail, and same goes for Customer Service. International buyers beware, they won't help you.
They're super disorganized and I can't count how many errors were made in the handling of my consignments. 1) They sent me a shipping label for a country other than the one in which I am located, and the parcel I had taken to UPS was denied, and I had to take it home and wait for them to issue me a new label. 2) They straight up lost a Gucci necklace I sent to them and just straight up didn't mention it to me. I had to contact a service rep to even get a case opened about it. 3) The consignment agent I was assigned just straight up stopped responding to my calls and texts midway through the consigning process and no one has explained anything to me about it. Did she get fired? Am I no longer eligible for an agent now that TRR has my items? 4) I recently got a pop-up telling me I had a discount code I could use on the app, and when the code didn't work, I contacted customer service, providing a screen cap of the pop up. They told me they needed a screen cap of not just the discount code offer, but the offer on a screen where my email ID was visible, otherwise they would assume I was lying.
It's now time for me to be paid for the items I sent them a few months ago, and they've just rolled out a new policy where if you don't have a bank account in the US, you have to pay $10 (!) each month to have a cheque mailed to you. I only made $14 this month. So…
Please avoid this terrible app/site. The Real Real doesn't care about you. They don't care about me. Anytime I go to them for help, their customer service team says stuff like: "it CLEARLY says right on the pop-up…"
Just garbage service. Please do yourself a favour and consign with your local thrift shop.
Description of the LV handbag did NOT mention the damage around each handle. Only offered a one time site credit. No refund.
ITEMS SENT TO THE WRONG HOUSE. $500 PURSE BROKE WITHIN TWO DAYS. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWFUL. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWO TIMES BEFORE WITH THIS SITE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
