I am a buyer and a seller. If you're consigning things, they're all over you to send them in. They will call and email you literally the same day a label is generated. However, if there's an issue of concern, they are MIA. Whether an item is listed incorrectly, or WAY below what it should be, they take weeks to respond, IF AT ALL. They listed an item of mine for over 50% less than what they should have, and when I contacted them about it, no one responded back. Of course, it sold instantly, and there was no recourse. As a purchaser, they have had no problem canceling a purchase on me when I have been the buyer in those situations... I have sold over 100K worth of goods through Real Real, and have purchased a few hundred thousand worth. You would think that I would be considered an important customer, but apparently when it's only in their favor. Other than that, crickets...
I called and made shipping changes through customer service, was told it was corrected and it was not, All my items were mailed to the wrong address.
When I made a complete muddle of my purchase the Administrator heard my distress, personally intervened, helped me out and even retrospectively applied a discount I'd forgotten about. I'm truly grateful.
Wrong sizes often for example sz 44 jacket as xs assumed that it was sz 34 for US
In the past three years, every single person who has complimented me on something I am wearing is complimenting a clothing item I have purchased from the Real Real. Not only is the quality of the clothes and the service terrific, I love that purchasing these items is better for the environment! This is a win, win!
Men's shoes weren't labeled clearly as such... so I thought they were women's and purchased. Now I'm waiting to see if they'll accept a return...
I wish TRR to provide an accurate estimate for custom fees and taxes. Im based in Canada, and I had to pay 30% of my last order to the UPS delivery person.
I have bought fairly regularly from REALREAL. Only since 2 years ago, I have had to return items that are incorrectly packed re-wrong shoe size or significantly damaged clothings described as Excellent in condition.
Haven't received but 4 of the 9 handbags I ordered. Disappointed 1 didn't exist and the other 4 I have not received. The description is not always accurate. Usually any bag with stones has missing ones. Don't understand why they always ship them with the chain out which in shipping usually knocks stones of or scratch the fabric bags. Also don't understand the process of how most bags are wrapped for shipping.
So, I contacted the customer service immediately because I accidentally clicked the "purchase" button before I finished shopping! I wanted to add 2 more items without paying double for shipping (- it would have been another order) they got back to me saying that there's nothing they can do about it. OK, I do understand that the the store wants to ensure fastest handling to get the items to the customer, however as a loyal & long term customer I expected a little bit more... Well goodwill! Maybe a free-shipping code, so I could have bought the additional items would have been nice... but no, nothing, nada, rien! Especially when I've been shopping at the RealReal for years and recommended it happily to many of my friends & followers! I'm not even sure if this review will even be read by one of the customer service team and for what it's worth, but if they see it: you could have done better!

Spent 45 mins on the phone awaiting a customer service agent but no one took the call! Than sent emails with my complaint but no one has responded! I don't think I'll be purchasing on this site, nor will I sell my items on RealReal. Very very poor service.

The Chloe top was described as "Good condition slight fading at tag." When it arrived, it had a big tear in the lace. Unfortunately it is not returnable. The skirt was great and arrived and as described. I think RR has grown too quickly as their quality and descriptions are inconsistent at best.
I never did get a hold of a live person to resolve my issue after waiting on hold a total of more than 20 minutes.
I am quite upset as I am unable to buy many home items because you are unable to ship them to Puerto Rico.
It does not make any sense since you are sending clothing, and I am paying a high shipping fee anyways.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
