Disappointed that you guys don't do free shipping a returns. Website descriptions not usually accurate and need to see things in person risk free.
The customer service have helped solve the issues.
Excellent customer services!
I have been consigning with TRR since they began on-line. Things have gotten progressively worse. I have to police my items because they are constantly listed incorrectly. Currently I have been waiting more than one month for something to be listed because it was evaluated wrong. There is no accountability. Customer service does nothing.
Items used to be listed in curated sales. This lead to great sales. Now they simply list items in new arrivals. Things take longer to sell and are often reduced dramatically as a result.
TRR is honest, pays well and on time.
I have purchased numerous fragile items from the real real over the last year and a half and every time they missed a chip or a crack or packed a porcelain service like a 5 year old, I'd foolishly think to my sleeve that they'd eventually get things in order.
Not only have they gotten worse at describing conditions and packing fragile items, they have gotten far more stingy with their partial refunds. This is highly troubling as a customer, as the last thing I want to do is spend my precious time packing items up carefully for a return when they are the ones that messed up. For a client that has spent nearly $100,000 with them, it makes zero business sense. I'm fed up.
I purchased size 6 Chelsea boots by Ugg. I wear a womans 5.5 or 6. These boots were huge and wide like men's sizing. The Realreal always takes returns but in this case they paid for the return shipping. It was easy and I am totally satisfied.
It's safe to say that I am addicted to checking The RealReal daily to make sure I don't miss any pieces in my saved searches and I have had a lot of luck in finding beautiful pieces that I love and have been looking for. BUT I do have some qualms... (1) Shipping. There should definitely be free shipping over a certain amount plus, even more importantly, free shipping on returns. I stress free return shipping because (2) I have received several orders over the last few years where the piece I received was either not the correct size that was listed, not in the condition it was listed, or even hilariously, a different item altogether... how does this even happen? (3) There have been pieces on the site where they will say that the brand tag is missing, but the research wasn't done to get the designer right... i. e. Rachel Comey dress in Ulla Johnson. (4) I think detailed photos of the condition or a close-up of the fabric would assist sales - especially with final sale items. (5) All bags should not be final sale... I understand why they are but any bag over $500 should have more leniency in its commitment, no? So many times have I been in love with a bag in the $800-$1K range but I can't afford to purchase a second hand bag for that amount of money only to receive it and it not be the quality I had hoped without any detailed photos! (Maybe take some inspiration from ReBag here? Then again, they also allow returns on their bags). And lastly, the 20% off all the time with code 'REAL'? Why don't they just mark everything cheaper... we're not getting any deals... the 20% makes it closer to the price second hand clothing should be...
Late shipment. I bought some boots on February 11 for a trip on February 20, I returned from my trip and I still have not received them -_-
I discovered a hole that was not listed and was given the choice of a refund or enough credit to pay for re-weaving.
Most of the time size of listed clothing is not even close to real size. I purchased many clothes that was listed size L, but it was so much smaller, I would say size S. Very disappointed that a lot of clothes I purchased not in the condition described.
Impossible to resale for half of what I paid for.
Wish you could be more accurate in such things.
I'm always surprised at how quickly i get the items in the UK and the variety on the site is amazing!
She was very helpful, immediately understanding the problem and issue. Very capable and knowledgeable of systems operations
I highly satisfied with your in- store service, but you don't do appropriate inspection of your items. I received damaged purchases.
I contacted customer service twice two days in a row and waited for 30 minutes on hold and then was given an option to get a call back. I opted twice for a call back did not receive it. I was assigned a rep but she doesn't respond to my text messages. I also did not get a response to my email to customer service.
RealReal does consignment pick up but then you don't get a receipt so I don't know if my stuff was picked up by a real rep. No business card no uniform who knows. They finally started processing my stuff and I see one item is missing. I will see if it gets processed or I have to call again. I like to shop and sell on this site and like their stuff but the service has been frustrating and I am supposed to be a VIP ha!
I have been buying from this site for years never been disappointed had to return a few things that did not fit so easy to work with
TRR returned a pair of shoes that after opening a few days after return period, we're the incorrect size frik the size I purchased. This was a mistake by TRR so they returned the shoes for refund but charged me shipping TWICE! Once when I bought and when I returned! This was their fault and I paid to send them back. Not good customer service
The shopping experience is amazing. However, one thing need to be improved is: hats are not listed with detailed sizing information, I don't want to take extra timing to return if they are not fit.
Experience was great! User friendly website which makes it easy to navigate and purchase.
I am pandemic shopping dresses for my Son's wedding and have ordered from several sites, including big name department stores. The RealReal is the top site for service, hands down. Shipping is quick, reliable, and packaging feels luxurious. Return policy is very easy to use. I've saved over 90% from retail on the dresses I've ordered.
All my purchases have been wonderful and easy. Love knowing they are all authentic.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
