Be aware if you think about selling with them. All was going super well with sells person. The moment I said I had Chanel bags and other items ( Pucci, Dior, D&G) for sale she was my best friend. I took photos and asked to confirmed the prices my items would be selling ( read their contract! Small print!). The guy came in; unprepared ( no near " white glove service "), the moment my things left my house the nightmare has began. The prices were 1/2 or less then promised, items were lots, twice returned to the wrong address. They admitted when I sent them screen shots of the agreed prices that the sells woman " misstated the truth, but did nothing. They underpriced my items: which sold in 1-2 days ( naturally. Yes it was a bargain for the buyers or insiders. It is a joke! Don't trust them. They cheat you out if your money and don't take any responsibility.
I ordered a XXS Aidan Mattox dress and recieved a size 6. When I called customer service to ask for a refund, not only did she say that an XXS was a size 4 (it's a 0 or 00 according to their own size chart) she refunded me 67.74 for a dress I paid 92.39 for. If they aren't paying attention to dress sizes, or merchandise price, I cannot trust them to be honest or diligent in anything else, so I probably won't be shopping there again. Which is too bad, because I like the idea of it!
I've been a TRR customer for several years and I have seen a dramatic decline in service recently. The description of the items, especially items that are not "Excellent" or "Pristine" have inconsistent ratings and are not detailed with flaws. I just received a bag (all bags on TRR are non-fundable, so u are judging only from photo and description) with significant creases and wear to leather however it was described as "light scuffing". Customer service said photos i sent was consistent with what was on the site, but this is not the case. $1,700 down the drain as I would be embarrassed to wear bag in public. Additionally, I am confident some bags/jewelry and even high-end homeware purchased in the past were fake.
The most inept customer service department ever and yet they still insist on bombarding me with emails to rate my experience, and yet apparently have no intent on doing anything about it. Now I believe the reports about their validation process being a farce because they can't send the correct product or refund the money after a return. You've got one job gang. FAIL.
Paid for overnight shipping and got it two days later and was way to small

I have been a customer of the real real for 7 years... NOBODY beats your customer service, hands down the best anywhere. No matter what happens, they handle it. When it states non returnable and the one item is not as described, you immediately rectify the situation. I have called several times just to ask for a second opinion when I'm choosing a bag. Best service EVER. This is why I will always be your customer and I do not shop with ANY other online luxury resellers.
I recently purchased a "non-returnable" Marc Jacobs bag. It's a risk I took. I used the bag only ONE DAY before the handle ripped from the ring. It was obvious that it had been repaired. I decided to reach out to RealReal anyway, and after a few pictures and back and forth emails, they granted me a full refund and paid for return shipping. I popped that bag into a box as soon as I could and shipped it. About 2 weeks later, I received a small package from the RealReal - and knew I hadn't ordered anything. Inside was several of my personal items that I obviously left in the zipper compartment of the bag. I had looked for 2 of those items for the past 2 weeks and couldn't find them. So - the RealReal - I want to say THANK YOU for going above and beyond for me!

Fast shipping, great quality and accurate descriptions
I was very disappointed when I received my items that I actually paid more that the items value for import tax/ duties.
The items are as described if any small wear or tear is listed on pics shown. Site also advised if brand runs small which is very helpful. Delivery item communication is timely and accurate.
Fluid and easy. I love how intuitive the site has become. The RR team seems to stay on top of tech changes that make online purchasing fast and easy. Please keep the pricing on goods at the competitive levels we loved appreciated when the RR first came on the scene.
I found a gift for my husband on here that I was so excited about, but they sent me the entirely wrong item. The correct item that I purchased is still listed as available on the website, but they refuse to replace my wrong item with the one that I purchased. This is after taking two weeks to get back to me. First time using this site and I was excited to try it out, but I won't be shopping there again.

I purchased a Tory Burch handbag and wallet both listed in very good condition. The bag was beautiful and looked brand new. The wallet was extremely worn and I would say to be in fair condition at best. I also purchased a LV iphone case which I was very pleased with the condition of. I would be hesitant to purchase from again based no the condition of the wallet. The 2 items received in great condition came from the NYC and the wallet in poor condition from CA. Not sure if they are using different evaluation systems.
After spending $12 on shipping, the items I received were not as described on the website. They will take back those items, but they are charging another $12 for me to return the items. The customer service was very quick though.
The RealReal offers a great selection of designer clothing. I love to "window shop" as there is consistently new product. Easy purchasing process.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
