For dress-up clothes and special pieces I have shopped exclusively at TheRealReal for 3+ years. I would love for MANY more brands to be carried, like Ecco for example snd local high-end brands like Inclan Studio in Houston. If it's high-end it should be on the site. The more recycling, the better. And please always put the clothes on the mannequin so we can see drape and always, always include chest, waist, hip, sleeve measurements because sizing differs among brands. TheRealReal has been the best in providing the *most* information about its clothing to help its buyers make fully-informed choices without trying the garment on. It's just lately I've seen things I might buy -but am wary & don't- because there's just not enough information to know for sure if they'll work out.
Since my first order, I have always had an amazing experience with TRR. The shipping is fast and always on time.
Following the loss of my package by UPS, I was the one who had to contact TheRealReal customer service - 4 times! - to finally be reimbursed.
I was bounced around through different services but NOT ONCE did TheRealReal customer service bother to contact me.
The entire process took over 1 month and was exhausting.

First, the website is super easy to navigate and filter to exactly what I'm looking for. Second, the deals are amazing! Third, sizing is pretty easy to figure out. It's not perfect since designers are so different, but it's the closest I've seen. Fourth, shipping was fast and everything came well packaged.
The man I spoke with was very helpful and efficient but I have yet to receive a follow up email with the results of the requests he said he was submitting for me.
The quality of items purchased has always been excellent, but it's not uncommon that the listed measurements are off... and sometimes not at all available. Because the fashion industry's clothing sizing labels are completely without standards, the listed measurements are key to knowing if a garment will fit.
I sent two inquiries about assistance to resolve the fact that a skirt suit I ordered arrived with ONLY the jacket, missing the skirt. I received ZERO response or help on either inquiry to date. This is ridiculous. I DO NOT expect to shop with Real Real again after this absurd experience.
I've been purchasing from this site for about a year now and I never have any issues! Anytime i reach out to customer service I always receive fast and courteous service! Great quality products and amazing customer service!
I am really upset about being charged a high price for shipping only to realize I was charged the same price to return and item as well. I am definitely more hesitant about shopping on the site now and Probably my last choice of even a choice anymore
I sent back an item to return and they will not give me my money because they say I sent the wrong item! Unbelievable
I find the sizing is pretty accurate - designers are really responsible for the accuracy but the RR staff does a good job mapping out sizing. The photos are good and folks need to use the magnify feature to see the flaws or marks as described.

I recently ordered three items from the real real. A "lamb skin" skirt, Kate Spade rubber boots and a jacket described as being one size. When I received them I was totally disappointed. The skirt leather was almost paper thin, the boots were so so and the jacket turned out to be way too small. Apparently one size means petite. I am an average size woman. Given this reality, I immediately returned them with their return labels. In addition they deducted almost $12.00 for each return thus making my refund less than I had paid. They charged me this same amount for original shipping. After this experience I have decided to to shop there again
I received a jumpsuit with pubic discharge--so disgusting! Clearly, TRR doesn't even inspect items, let alone clean them. They claim to be taking extra precautions because of COVID, but the pictures show that they are not even doing the minimum.
I notified them immediately and requested a refund for my entire order because I don't trust that any of the clothes are the value that they advertised. It's been over a month and no refund. BUT they did cancel the rest of my order, apparently, because I never received the other items that were shipped separately. So, now I am out hundreds of dollars for clothes I don't have.
I've reached out multiple times, but it looks like I'll have to escalate this issue outside of TRR because each message gets a form letter response from a different person. I AM NEVER SHOPPING THERE AGAIN!
Bought a purse paid for it and waited patiently for it to arrive (3-5) business days 8! Days later no purse called customer service to get my money back! They gave me a ( it's on the way and will be there definitely in the morning) story! So I waited get home the next day no package it's 5 pm and also day 9! I'm furious it was a anniversary present for my wife and I stand here looking stupid! So I call customer service again ( to get my refund) only to get we will have to do a investigation which will take up at least 24 hours more before I will know anything about my order! After repeatedly asking for a refund, forget the package I would rather do business somewhere else! Was told that they will get back to me later! I'm canceling my account and will NEVER EVER buy NOR refer them to anyone! BUYER BE WARE!
To shopping is a good choice but for sell your items you are not the best choices ( most if the tine I'm ending almost with less that $12 for some iTunes that the original prices are more that $300. Beside that the customer service representatives are great butter consigment team are really awful with the communication between consignment and them (

I have sent some items for appraisal to theRealReal One of them was appraised too low, and the first day the listing was shown to me I disagreed with the proving and asked for my item (it's a $500 new Merlette dress listed at $80, with 20 percent off?). It was just listed that day, as far as I could tell, so I asked for it to be returned. My contact there agreed and promised to do so.
However, the very next day I'm informed by an entirely new (and quite illiterate) girl that apparently my item sold, oooops (for next to nothing of course yet there is no price to see on the site anymore) and that it won't be returned. Thank you for your patience.

This all sounds like fraud and a steal to me. Think TWICE.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
