OMG, sex worker closet failures and UGLY CLOTHES, ridiculous high school drop outs as salespeople. Where did dignified retail go?
Beware of selling used items here. I gave HALEE who works for TTR (Chicago) items that she gave me a range of quotes for. I waited 3 weeks for them to be listed on the website to find out they listed them for not even half of what the lower end quote she gave me was. I contacted her but it was already too late because they shipped them to whoever bought them for that low low price. She didn't even bother to respond.
They should at least say, "hey we can't do that quote anymore because of xyz, do you want it back?" instead of just listing them and not saying a thing because they know it will sell and you can't do anything about it.
For example the gucci 2018 pumps estimated quote was $465-$600
The real real listed them for $275 & I received $145…
I had a quote for $400 somewhere else but I decided to go with the real real because the high quotes for all items. There workers must be on commission.
This website/service sucks. I sent in 13 designer items and made LITTLE money. I'm talking $18 for a 700 coat in good condition. They take 3/4 of the commission. This website is an absolute scam. Sell on Poshmark it's ******* times better. The real real will go out of business eventually because their process is laughable.
I make a lot of purchases every month on a lot of sites. I always receive authentic items from the TRR. While sites like EB and posh, I returned more than 50% of my purchases because of fakes and incorrect items conditions description. Surprisingly you see Posh Ambassadors with Thousand of sales, most of them are fake. You can obviously see fake from just looking at the photos, not sure why Posh and eBay allow them to sell hundreds of the same items with the same model and sizes.
In additionally, TRR describes accurately the items condition, you can even get better than the condition described most of the time.
The only problem I can see is the size measurement. They are incorrect a lot of times. I would suggest changing into a system of measuring right on the items, for instance, measuring from armpit-to-armpit, shoulder to end of shirts.
I hope the TRR doing splendidly well in the future. Without your company, most customers would be likely to just buy and wear fakes.
I purchased a (good condition) 2016 authentic LV handbag for $675 that had the lettering pealing when I received it. Sent it back and the response I got back is that the bag authentic. That point is they sold a handbag that was in bad condition as good condition. Terrible...
A very big thank you trr I got my package and is very fast shipping and the dresses superb!thank you
This company is the most irresponsible. It employs very dishonest and rude people. I have had 2 bad experiences. First one I was charged on affirm for a purchase that did not go through. Many calls and chats and many promises to take care of it and letting me know which they have done neither. Second was from Brandi Deemer a buyer for the Realreal who did not show up to our appointment and did not bother to let me know. When I called the number I was lied to by this woman from NJ who said I did not confirm the appointment then changed the story to that they called me to lmk where there is no record of on my phone plus no voicemail. Then Brandi told me the company did not send my address to her. So the employees are as dishonest as the firm itself. I am staying away.
The boots I bought were damaged and sold at full price I could not recover my duty tax payment after seeing the item.
They photoshop the items, I have many bad experiences with wrong size shoes and pants! And a pair of Nike sneakers I bought they photoshop the shape. And a sweater from a designer made in CHINA.
Ridiculous I rather buy from shein than from this web site.
SCAM Purses are fake Have been working for 6 months on this. Was sold an excellent condition Louis Vuitton and it started to wear like it was fake. I called them and they always said their purses are guaranteed. I sent it back to consign bc I was so frustrated, and they said they couldn't authenticate it, bc it was indeed fake. I am now suing them for selling me a fake purse
I just spoke with Camerin, she is my main contact point. A delightful person to speak with about selling on The RealReal! She was so welcoming and listened to my questions and answered all of them so I understand selling on the site. This could not be easier! I'm excited to see how this goes---THANK YOU Camerin!
Save yourself some frustration and dont buy from this company. I purchased a green retrofete dress from them and they send me some crappy shirt. When i explained the issue to the CSR the only thing they could tell me is my return will be free. And the return label the sent made it seem like i was returning the green dress. I attached screenshot of the conversation.
I ordered a $1500 Pomellato necklace but it was shipped in a Pomellato box that was in horrible condition. The box was crumbling and torn. Why would any retailer ever send a necklace in this worn out box. It is complete garage and presented the necklace in very poor fashion. Their quality control concerns me deeply based on what I received. Look at the photos. It's shocking what they sent.
I had a beautiful, one-of-a-kind Issey Miyake vintage wool coat that I wanted to sell. In perfect condition. I had seen similar coats listed for close to $5000. When I was given the coat 15 years ago I was told it was a $5000 coat.
I contacted the real real, but didn't want to send them my coat until I was assured that I would have pre-approval of any value put on the coat before it was listed for sale.
I was assured several times prior to sending the coat, and many more times after sending the coat, that I would have approval of the value of the listing or I could pull the coat. This was a lie.
Before I could have any say, they listed the coat and it was sold within a day. That is because they had so undervalued the coat that it was an insanely good buy. I never would have a greed to sell this coat at this price. It's absolute ludicrous.
Given the consignment payout structure that they have created, this company has no incentive to value your product at its appropriately high price. It actually benefits them to lowball you and sell it immediately. This is how they make their money. They also will tell you that they will send you your payment on the 15th of the month. My coat, while I disputed the sale, was irrevocably sold on 4 August. Based on what they tell you on the website you get paid out on the 15th of the month. This is also a lie. I will not get paid until the 15th of the following month. They will sit on your money for another month, so they can collect interest on your sale.
This company is shady shady shady. They still contact me trying to get me to send them new things. Please do not list with this company if you have something of value or meaning to you and you expect to be paid appropriately. Their consignment, payout structure encourages undervaluing, fraud, and decieption. They really should be investigated. They will do whatever they need to do to get you to send it in. And then you have no control.
I received item which I bought for $435 and paid shipping fee of $50. Total was $485. Item had cuts on it and informed them via WhatsApp. Was told they will refund shipping fee $50 which I received and also offered me $40 site credits if I decide to keep item. I said I will consider. Later I decided to return and after a few rounds of to and fro I was told i will get a full refund of $435 and the $40 site credits will be cancelled. However I only receive $395. I contacted them again but the staff named Kian refused to assist and told me they already refunded $445 and that I used the site credits for dry cleaning?! I was not informed and did not agree to it! Next comes the staff Karter who promised to personally follow up and have put it on high priority and I will heard from him in 1-2 days. After 3 days nothing. Contacted them again and after all my explanation, the staff just explain that site credits issued if I keep but I choose to refund so it was cancelled. Of course I know it has been cancelled then where is the $40 that should be refunded to me? I have already made it simple what I want but they either dont understand or choose not to. I have made so many attempts and wasted so much time talking to them repeating my story over and over again but they simply refused to refund the $40 stating them they have already refunded. I will never buy from them again.
I trust TRR with an expensive wallet and then not only did they LOSE it but then they proceeded to tell me it couldn't be authenticated and offered ONLY $10 back to me for it. Not to mention this entire process to MONTHS of emailing back and forth and weeks of not hearing from them. I am so unbelievably disappointed by their service and client care. How does a luxury resale site just LOSE a product?!?! I will NEVER work through this company again. I have never been so upset.
I shopped a few times for items no longer available in the market. No, the description is deceptively misleading, and the customer support team is either incompetent or doesn't care. They play the word games and don't recognize their faults. It is simply a waste of time. Look at the stock price. I hope all these people will lose their jobs soon when TRR goes out of business.
Purchased Gucci sandals in April, sandals fell apart in August, contacted Real Real to give them a chance to fix problem, see attachment on their decision. Be aware and stay aware, once money made they care less about what happened afterwards.
THIS COMPANY IS A GIANT SCAM!
THIS COMPANY IS A GIANT SCAM! BRAND NEW ITEM WILL BE RATED AS GOOD CONDITION ONLY AND NO INFORMATION WILL BE SENT FOR APPROVAL OF PRICES AND WILL BE SOLD ON A CHEAP PRICE AND WILL YOU PAYBACK AT LESS THAN 25%. I HOPE THEY CLOSE CLOSED OUT!
Avoid the site, they continue to lower the price over and over, just to sell, and your commission ends up being a small percent of what you could have gotten on your own
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
