I ordered several great pieces, but, one unfortunately didn't work out. It was so easy to go to the location in NB to return it. They were so nice there and the return took less than 2 minutes. I had never been there and the little boutique was so cute. Don't bother trying to find parking on the street, just save yourself time and go straight to the parking structure conveniently located directly behind the store.
I'm very pleased with the service and the process for consigning. I appreciate the sign up credit too. I am thrilled with each of my purchases.

Chatted with customer service about a return issue. They said they would correct a mistake and adjust the price on my cart. They adjusted for a lower priced item we did not discuss. I have contacted customer service 3x and they've simply ignored me. Not a great look.
I did have an issue with this order. I contacted customer service and their response time was excellent. They also were able to remedy the situation to my satisfaction. I am very happy to be a customer of this company.
I am usually so impressed with the customer service at TRR, but this interaction was totally disappointing. The representative had a very hard time understand what I was trying to explain, which was that an item had a clear defect in a picture that wasn't listed in the description, I wanted to be assured it was priced correctly, and then there was never any follow up. The issue was never resolved, and the item is still listed the same way on the website.
I have been shopping at TRR since 2000, their detailed measurements and conditions make it so much easier to shop than the other similar sites.
Their descriptions are very much accurate, I normally only buy pieces in pristine, excellent and very good conditions.
As a collector myself, I always find unique pieces there which was either sold out in previous seasons or not able to find my size at department stores.
Combine shipment at a fixed cost is a huge bonus, as I always purchase a few to a dozen items at a time!
Shopping there is great so far, now I'm considering to sell but I heard the commission may be a bit steep.
I have been shopping at The Real Real for the past five years. I do like the site as you can find some great bargains there. However, at times, items arrive in a very worn state, which is not mentioned in the description of the item - so you immediately lose $24 (to and from) on shipping, sending the article of clothing back. And their customer service could definitely be improved. For instance, customer service emails sometimes remain simply unanswered.
My bag and wallet arrived and the Michael Kors bag was in better condition than I expected! The blemish mentioned by The Real Real was listed and they must be very precise on items they'll accept. I am very pleased with my purchase and will purchase higher end items knowing how high the quality of the resale items are.
I called to make a return. After many days with mother in Hospital Covid didn't make it back in window. Alberto was very rude had a very bad negative attitude and hung up on me. Might not shop with you after that
Clothing items arrive in a dishevelled manner, not making the clothes appealing at all. The cost for shipping and returns is way too high especially considering the time it takes to get to the customer. Refunds also take too long to reach your account. Very unhappy customer.
I emailed 3 ppl already as I bought a size S dress and it did not fit (way too small). Unfortunately I couldn't return this as it was part of a sale. I sent this dress via consignment instead as I couldn't wear it and couldn't return it. However, once the dress was posted again — it was posted as xxs which I think so the accurate size based on how small the dress is. I emailed customer service to get help as I want a refund given the size was clearly wrong on the site but I kept being sent to different people and nobody is helping me solve this issue. Still waiting after two weeks to get any help on this issue. Beware of the sizing and don't recommend buying it it's on sale and cannot return for any reason.
I purchased a pair of shoes that should have been adorn with jewels but one shoe was missing the jewel. Also, the sling back straps on two other pairs of shoes were stretched out. While one other clothing item was too tight, I was satisfied with the remainder of my purchase.
I really appreciate the ability to buy brands second hand which have mostly been true to pictures but the conversion to $AUD made it much more expensive then shipping... not that cheap afterall
I would say 30% are winners, with the $11 shipping charge it's kind of steep considering the number of losers. I'm still trying to decide if it's worth shopping this way.

The pictures of items are not adequate for most items. The descriptions are also basic, lack details and appear to be copy pasted from multiple other listings.
I expect better pictures and detailed info on the type of items that they list.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
