Bogus
December 21, 2017

My orders were not on time. I got a customer appreciation discount which they did not honor so today I can elled my order and found a comforter divet cover elsewhere that was cheaper. The duvet cover I ordered never did get sent and was backordered forever. Called customer service which was a total waste of time. Shop elsewhere.

I ordered what was called a "quilt", it was just thin material with batting inside. I stupidly kept it because I liked the pattern... Lesson learned, about 6 months later, it is not only faded (smallest problem), it is ripping apart.

I bought a quilt from them many years ago and it was an actual "quilt", what the heck happened to the company?

Don't bother to write a bad reviews on their website. I wrote 2 for the same product 2 weeks apart and both were deleted. When I went to check it said "be the first to write a review.". Therefore I have to assume that any product with no review has only received bad reviews.

The down comforter I bought was ~$300, so not their cheapest option, and more expensive than many others I saw, but heard good things from blogs, reviews so thought I'd try it out. The quilt had feathers missing from many of the boxes, and overall the amount of fluff was underwhelming (especially for the price). Even at $100 I would have been disappointed, but then I would say "hey, it's because it's cheap". To return it, I will either be reimbursed $15 if I send them a receipt, or they offer FedEx pickup but I am never home.
I had ordered the wool mattress pad from them also and love that, but the quilt ruined the experience for me. But the wool pad wasn't made by them, so that might explain why the quality was better.

I ordered a comforter which I thought would be navy but was more purple. Returned it and noticed that I never got a refund. I live chatted with them and they said it was put through a week before. I said it doesn't take a week to get credit. Then it was "wait a minute, it never went through". So I asked what happened and she said that sometimes the system doesn't put the refund through and they wait for the customer to call to put the credit through. What? Unbelievable. I won't do business with them anymore. How many people haven't gotten a refund because they didn't check? If they did their accounting right they would notice but apparently this must be a way to make extra money.

Bridal Show Winner!
August 14, 2017

I received several phone calls and emails from The Company Store asking me to accept my prize from the Bridal Show in Phoenix, AZ. They gave me the opportunity to choose ANYTHING on their website that totaled $250. Because what I chose exceeded that amount when including taxes and shipping, they said I would have to pay the difference. I said I would prefer for them to choose what to send me as long as I didn't have to pay any extra money on my free prize. Sure enough, the correspondents sent me a specific list (I chose the color) including a comforter, sheets, and pillow cases in which I didn't pay a dime. We are enjoying these products every day and it makes our room very colorful. I definitely give this company a thumbs up for their customer service.

I purchased what was supposed to be a cooling mattress pad from The Company Store's website - the site reviews and ratings were good so I decided to splurge on a $140 item. What I got smelled of chemicals (even after washing twice) and seemed to reflect heat back onto me rather than absorb it as advertised and suggested by reviewers. I wrote as much in an online review and decided I'd have to pay $20 or so for return shipping rather than keep this $140 mistake. To my surprise, I received a personalized apology email from the company with an offer to have the item picked up and returned at The Company Store's expense since I was dissatisfied. OK! That seemed like a good customer service move. Well, FedEx came and the pad went but I didn't get a credit for weeks. I finally called and the rep I spoke to said he'd issue credit which finally showed up on my account 4 days later. I question whether I'd have received it had I not called? Interestingly, as well, my "bad" review has never been posted on their site so the mattress pad still appears to be a big hit with customers at a 4.9 out of 5 average rating. How many other reviewers were emailed instead of posting their comments?

Meanwhile, I'd ordered a different mattress pad from them. What I got was much better than the first in terms of the over heating problem, but it shrank up quite significantly. Also, while shopping another site for something completely unrelated I found the EXACT same mattress pad for $36 versus the $109 price at the company store. Holy mark-up Batman! If I return the second pad for $20 shipping I'm still saving about $50 over the inflated Company Store. Great service and quality might be worth a few extra bucks, but marginal customer service + only publishing positive reviews + products that available for a fraction of the cost elsewhere = buyer beware!

Don't bother... go to Macys. Two years ago I purchased 2 King Down Pillow for $300 each. Within 6 months they were flat as a pancake! I can shake the down into one end and barely get a plump standard size pillow. There's a good 6-8 inches left of empty casing at the end. What a waste of money... never again!

Catalog Craziness
March 6, 2017

I have been calling The Company Store at least once per month for OVER 6 months trying to get off their catalog mailing list. Each time they tell me they have removed me from the list, but I keep receiving catalogs. While I once enjoyed some of their products, I will boycott this company for the rest of my life given its flagrant wastefulness. DOWN WITH THIS LAME COMPANY!

I have purchased their pillow inserts and zippered pillow covers, and they were fine and held up well.

However, I have ordered pairs of towels and pairs of sheets from this company. After several washings, I noticed one of the pillow cases was coming apart, and on closer examination, I saw that it was because the stitching on one of the seams had veered off. Then, the hem on one of the towels fell out--again, because someone at the sewing machine had veered off course. In both instances, I didn't notice the sloppy sewing until weeks after they were received, so I didn't even bother try to contact customer service.

Bottom line: If you do purchase their merchandise, examine everything immediately and minutely upon receipt.

Recently I also bought not inexpensive bath sheets for my new bathroom to be used only by infrequent guests. Unfortunately after less than five washings(by machine) their edges have unravelled and are frayed and look pathetic. I am horrified. I bought from you( and not the numerous bargain stores) and paid what you asked because I expected quality. I have not received it. I believe I should be eligible for a refund. But where to go? I just washed my brand new California king mattress pad from The Company Store 400 Thread Count Cotton Top Mattress Pad Item No. MA80-CK-White (for which I paid $89 plus $14.95 for shipping) in cold water, delicate, no agitator top load washer, and tumbled dry on air fluff (no heat) before putting it on my bed for the first time. The result a big hole in the top of the mattress pad. The Company Store refused to credit my account on the basis of a photo. They wanted me to ship the mattress pad back to them at my cost, and they said they would reimburse me. I told them that I had already thrown the pad out as it was useless and ridiculous to return such a huge item. Then they offered to have it picked up by FedEx at their expense (but the pad is already in the garbage). They will not credit my account now. I have bought a huge amount of The Company Store products for years and have never had an experience like this. The Company Store should not be selling horrible products like this.

I've bought a few things from The Company Store and am pretty happy with them overall. But I recently purchased a mattress pad that I didn't love. I didn't realize they didn't offer free (or discounted) returns. It's a big box and I had to pay basically a third of the price of the item to return it. My fault for not knowing in advance (I wouldn't have risked it) but I've gotten used to free returns. Won't be buying from them again because it's too expensive if you don't like something.

Over the years I've ordered various items from the store. Been quite satisfied until today with the product & my interaction occasionally with customer service. I had ordered a feather pillow that was supposed to be 75% down & 25% feathers. About a year or two ago I ordered the same pillow. When I rec'd this one I tried it our twice - it crunched! It was not at all like the one I had. I called today & was told that there were no feathers in it - all down. When I asked why I felt & heard crunching the rep. Said it probably needed to be used more. But if I wanted to send it back - I could. She stated I would have to pay for the shipping! Well, this pillow is the last item I will ever purchase from the Country Store. What a difference between their policies and Amazon! And all the time I wasted waiting for the rep to talk to her supervisor just added to my frustration and certainly ruined my good humor.

For a few years I have annually ordered bath sheets to refresh my supply. Those are the extra large bath towels. They are bigger than beach towels! Each year they would have a sale and you could get a bath sheet for under $30... bargain! These were nice fluffy towels that were thick and stood up to weekly washing. Well not anymore. This year the towels seemed thinner and less absorbent. After the first washing the binding on one started to come off as a thin hole formed where it was sewn. I can't even repair as the fabric has come undone.
So, I email the customer service rep and they say they can snail mail me a UPS label and I can send back the faulty towel!
I am shocked they do not know how to email a UPS label and that they didn't just send me a new towel. I am used to the good online stores that just send me a new item. They tell me to throw out the defective item. Or they could have just credited my card. But no, they want me to go to the post office and mail them their thin, torn towel from Pakistan! I told them no thanks and I'd get my bath sheets elsewhere. I am sad their quality is not so good anymore. They sell high dollar sheets by the piece too so I would save my money.
