The general manager of this Hudson's Bay location quite literally treats her employees like garbage. She power trips and bully's her employees and customers. I feel so bad for the women that work at the makeup counters, as they are told and forced not to speak with one another what so ever. I've been to many Hudson Bay locations all throughout Canada and this one has to be the utmost unprofessional & least taken care of. There were rats and mice found in few of the stock rooms which indicates how contaminated and unsanitary the location is. I don't wish to speak about the washrooms as well. Many of the employees complain that they suffer from anxiety and stress because of how they are being treated and even cry in the restrooms because of it. Another odd coincidence is that the younger & well favoured woman that get hired seem to have a harder time rather than the others. God forbid you come down with a cold or illness, that doesn't exist in the General Manager's world. You will be written up as sick or no show (skipping work). Lies were also spread that customers were at the booths of woman who were on their breaks to cause pressure to her workers yet when asked around, found out that indeed no one was actually even there. Think twice about joining this location.
The Bay is not what it used to be and are selling products through outside companies called "Marketplace". In most cases this is not apparent to the consumer - quite devious on the Bay's part. If an item is purchased through "Marketplace", it is very difficult to make a return as The Bay directs you to the 3rd party supplier for your return/refund - no in-store returns. Very sad this company has stooped so low. Buyer beware!
Wow! I walked by and decided to purchase a lipstick at the MAC counter in the Waterloo Bay in Conestoga Mall...but, came out with a wealth of knowledge and some beautiful new products. Randy was so kind and helpful. I am so excited to try my new makeup! What a great experience!
I had a very unusual and difficult watch strap to replace.
The repairman, Jeremy, was so pleasant and helpful. The strap was replaced very quickly in spite of Jeremy only having replaced this type of strap once before. I was very impressed! Thank you for such fine service and staff.
I paid over $300 for 2 sets of their Gluckstein expensive house brand of sheets. Within a year both fitted sheets were shredded. I had never used bleach or misused them. I spent 6 months being ghosted with every attempt to get help. Finally they looked at the sheets and agreed that should not have happened but because I used them, they couldn't take them back.
I had ordered a dress for my staff Christmas party on Nov 26. The bay email I got after said it would be delivered on or before Dec 3. My staff Christmas party was last night (Dec 10) and I still have no dress. When I go to the deliver company tracker it still shows that the package has not been received for delivery. I had emailed customer service on Dec 8th, they gave me a case number and said customer service would contact me as soon as possible. They never did. I called and spoke to someone at the bay online customer service on Dec 9 and they said they would ensure I could get my dress before my party and Dec 10 and would contact the delivery company and then call me back. They never did. This was the worst online shopping experience ever. Never trust them or buy from them!
They added some marketplace sellers and needed to mark that you are buying things from the marketplace seller! The department stores only have some sizes, and sometimes you have to order a few sizes and keep just one. Return online orders to the store was very friendly and easy until marketplace sellers came to the Bay: all of them have different return [policies and do not cover return shipping, and you can't return merchandise to the store. I ordered jackets for my son, and when I saw that the Bay does not sell them, I cancelled the order 2.5h after purchase! After 24h, I received an email that the merchandise was shipped! They just ignored my cancellation! In this way, The Bay will lose its loyal customers and end up like Sears or Zellers. Think of that!
The worst online shopping experience I've had in years.
Ordered a big ticket item at a discount, with an offer of an additional discount if i applied for the credit card. Did that, but there was a technical issue with the application which delayed the discount.
Finally got it sorted, then order never shipped.
Emailed customer service who responded days later, then a few days later i received an order cancellation email.
I am now out the discounts, which i can no longer get since it's not black Friday.
It's like they're trying to lose customers.
In Oct I ordered from the Bay online. The package was shipped through Intertelcom. It was apparently delivered on Oct 25 but when I arrived home from work (less than a hour later), the package was not there. I alerted customer service that I never received it. They put in a trace investigation with the shipping company and told me they would update me in 7 days. They did not update me. On Nov 16 I contacted the Bay, to inquire about the status. They said the courier had not responded to the investigation, therefore I would be issued a refund. On Nov 28 I still didn't have the refund so I contacted the Bay again, and was told a different story. I was told that because the courier provided a photo of the package sitting outside my building, this was considered "delivered" and the Bay did not have to issue a refund. I told them they had already promised me a refund. They said the refund "request" was denied. I asked if they could send the items again: they told me I would have to re-purchase them. Why is the customer being punished for the loss of items? They would not budge on the refund no matter what I said. I feel like I was mugged and the Hudson Bay stole money from my wallet. I put in a dispute with my VISA card and VISA reversed the payment. I want to warn everyone not to order from the Bay online - it's too risky. And anyone who has had a similar problem: you can dispute the purchase with your credit card company and hopefully enough complaints will pressure the Bay to change their business practices
Went to The Bay Kingston and spoke to Karen in furniture. She was very knowledgeable and extremely patient and helpful.
I bought merchandise because I was promised I will get $50. Over a week passed and did not get a reply from a certain Charlotte. Very sad. I will never buy from The Bay anymore.
I do like shopping at the Bay and pretty good at not needing any help. If you need help forget, you can never find anyone available. That's managements fault.
Today I tried to call both the downtown and Metrotown Bay on the phone prior to going to make sure a specific coat was there. The phone in multiple department were never answered. I was using 2 phones simultaneously and going to each department. FINALLY I had got through to Sarah in the downtown dress department, who went over and beyond to help me on the phone and in person. The coat was too large so I repeated the process with Metrotown. I was finally able to get through to Helena, I have no idea which ladies department but she also went and look all over for this coat and put it on hold for me. These 2 women were amazing and helpful. It was refreshing that kind of customer service and I really appreciated their efforts.
I'm not advising anyone to buy from them even the delivery is so bad…they are scammers,I spend almost a thousand this month and last month and every time I go there I use the reward card and I go for shopping and I wont to use my points so the cashier told that i I don't have points to redeem I was choked I will return all the stuff that I buy from them I'm not satisfied at all
I love the Bay! Yes, it is true that there are fewer sales people around, but those who are are unfailingly polite and over 90% do their best to be accommodating. I particularly wnt to commend 2 women at The bay downtown {Georgia and Granville, Vancouver} Angelina and Leila. Or is it Layla, are stellar employees. They always go the extra mile, brimming with good humour and a positive aura that is infectious. While they both work in fragrances, Angelina assisted me with a Dyson hair dryer purchase that was a bit challenging. Layla was very kind with a perfume purchase. I have bought handbags and found the staff knowledgeable and helpful, Women's wear, on both the 2nd and 3rd floors, the bedding staff are also very proficient. I think any negative reviews must be one offs. I only hope that The Bay never leaves

As a long time Bay customer I was very disappointed to find out that My recent online order was not from the Bay and in fact from a third party seller. Not only did it ship from across the world meaning a large environmental impact for 1 item purchase, it also meant I did not receive the customer service I was used to or expecting. The shipping took nearly a month and when I received the item I was even more disappointed to find that the quality was NOT what was as advertised on the Bay website and was a poor and disappointing quality. The return process has been difficult and disappointing. Not only is it causing MORE environmental damage as the item has to be mailed back and can't be returned to a brick and mortar store front but the cost of shipping the item was absurd and almost nothing worth the return and hassle. I don't think I will ever purchase from the bay.com again as it is not transparent or clear who you are purchasing from and supporting and what customer service you can expect or trust. I am beyond disappointed and will definitely make sure that this is shared among social media's so that other customers are not left in the same unfortunate position as I am. NO Respect for the sellouts that accept third parties. Such a trashy (like:Walmart or amazon) feel and unfortunate change to what was a trust worthy and dependable company once before.
I Googled dark blue denim jeans The Bay Canada popped up I clicked on image and was redirected to The Bay's website I saw same jean image and price until I selected the same size as on the Google ad price jumped from $39.96 to over $79 The Bay WILL NOT honour the online price. I will NO longer be shopping at The Bay.
Can't exchange two pairs of tights that are too small because of a final sale! I'm sure they have my size in store to exchange but it's not going to be an option. Will never order from THE BAY again.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED
I bought a couch, it turns out, through their market place third party. I had no idea, it looks like it's from The Bay and even the payment shows up as The Bay on my credit card. The couch broke on the first day and now the Bay has passed all blame to the third party and refuses to refund my money. The third party has in theory agreed to refund my money but a month later it is not refunded and neither party will deal with me. They are passing the blame to each other. I will never shop at the Bay again.
I purchased a $500.00 G Shock watch and The Bay thought it was a good idea to ship me a used one. That will be my last purchase ever from The Bay!
The worker with the tran ID 0892 ************** was absolutely amazing, he worked tirelessly to ensure that i was satisfied with my purchase and was very kind. I highly reccomend visiting hudson's bay not only for their amazing products but their even better staff!
Answer: They are a legitimate company which is managed poorly.
Answer: After calling them several times many of which I was put on hold only to be disconnected I finally get through to a representative. Not an easy process at all
