I have been a customer of Template Monster for roughly 2 years now. Not once have I had a poor experience from them. My downloads are ready almost instantly with all of the necessary files I could ever want in order to change or customize my template. If there are any minor coding issues all i need do is enter live chat and have a conversation and if it's not fixed they take the problem from me and get back to me with a solution. They then take the time to ask me at a future date if my problem has been solved and do I need any more help. I had a problem of my own ignorance involving backing up a wordpress site and they talked me through it in terms of where to find the file, how to change the file and provided me with a way of downloading all my files safely and correctly to ensure the safety of my site. All of which they didn't need to do. I continue to be impressed with template monster on a month by month basis. I signed up to their blog and they give you almost daily advice and places to find out new information and resources. They often have free templates to work on and a sweet discounting system for money off templates. I don't see any downsides to this service and have never had a bad experience yet.

Outstanding service

I have used templatemonster on numerous occasions and am continually impressed by their outstanding support service both pre and post sales.

They are always available for live-chat and have helped me with any problem I have, whether it be installation, manipulation or design tweaking... they are absolutely fabulous.

I would highly recommend them to all!

I went to buy a template today. And since I am a first time buyer, they want to verify my order. Why? They said it was to combat online fraud. No other online retailer does this, none. It is just idiotic of them to require it.

My client picked a WordPress template from Template Monster they liked. Well, when I got into the editor I realized it had been written in 2011. Needless to say it's not functional and the most important thing I needed for the site I spend 5 hours with their, lame isn't even a strong enough word, tech support.

The bottom line is they sell unusable templates and the tech support is useless SO THIS IS THE THING - they want you to pay for any real help they give you. I got an email from a manager named Mark Woods after an argument with the "tech support" and he made it clear he wasn't going to help in any way. Unless you want to pay God knows what to get the template in the shape it should have been in to begin with. Steer clear from Template Monster!

And you can see from other reviews here the only thing they are really good at is saying "they're sorry". BFD. AND get this, they don't allow you to leave reviews on their site. I tried. There was one 5 star review for this template, so it can be safely assumed it's a fake review since no one else can leave one.

I would like to say I have never complained about a template in the 8+ years I've been working with WordPress.

Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize for any inconveniences. We've double checked with our coders and verified with the SQL dump file generation time and it shows 26th of September 2012 which is almost 3 years ago from now.

Taking into account that you've purchased the template 2 years ago we can't say that it was obsolete in the beginning of 2014.

We must apologize for the not appropriate technical instructions which was given to you by our support team as they were written for the newest Wordpress 4.3 platform and couldn't work for Wordpress 3.4 engine that was used to create the template.

Buyer Beware!
November 5, 2015

I purchased a template from Template Monster and now I'm in a legal battle with Masterfile over a image that was sold in the template. Masterfile provided proof of ownership. Since 9/28/15 I have left voice messages, had numerous chat messages with TemplateMonster. Always received the same reply "Escalating to a manager, and a manager will contact me via email or call me back in 2 hours" I have yet to hear from a manager. When you call for TemplateMonsters Copyright/Legal department you are told to call back in 2 hours. When you call back, you receive this message "The person at extension 142 is not available" then the call terminates. Received an email from Ivy Michaelson (TemplateMonster Copyright/Legal Department) claiming they were in negotiations with Masterfile which was a LIE. No one from Masterfile has had any contact with TemplateMonster. I had to pay Masterfile a HUGE sum due to copyright infringement. This is a very condensed version of the nightmare TemplateMonster has put me in.

Just to add to my previous post... it is now December 14,2015 and still no word from TemplateMonster. TemplateMonster have deleted almost all my support tickets and refuse to respond.

Update February 22,2016: Now when I call and refer to a support ticket I am put on hold then the call is disconnected. If I enter a Support Ticket number in the chat window... no one will respond. I even tested it by not entering a ticket number and someone immediately started to chat with me until I referred to a support ticket. Chat would end. They are leaving me with no other choice then get a lawyer involved.

Before I bought my template, I was assured all problems encountered would be corrected by templatemonster. After I paid, I was told not to contact tamplatemonster for any corrections. There is no template that works. They are just designs but nothing works. The compare button doesn't work. The quantity button doesn't work. The payment check out does not work. It is a total crap company.

Gosh if everyone only knew the horrible customer support i was given. The templates are pretty good but the support is so bad. Probably the worst i have ever delt with.

Purchased this template from Template Monster.com and purchased the option to have them assist in some very simple changes.

What we needed was for them to fix the contact us page, place our logo in the page and get rid of the universal stock images. Instead I receive back and forth emails and no production. Would not have taken more than 2 hours for someone who knows what they are doing.

I am convinced they do not know what they are doing other than ripping off unsuspecting customers. Very poor customer service and no execution. Completely dissatisfied.

Awful Experience

I have a lot of Wordpress experience and buying from TemplateMonster has been the worst mistake of my web design career. They sell outdated themes that never get updated, they don't post all of their reviews (stll waiting for my review on a theme to be posted and its been months), and they don't have good support at all. You can't contact theme authors and let them know your issues. They use very dated methods for their themes causeing them to be optimized poorly. TemplateMonster shouldn't be allowed to sell website themes.

Terrible!

I have never experience such bad project management and customer service. After chatting with a project manager through template-tuning I decided to go ahead. She said it would take appr. 2 weeks to get the site ready, after I provided them with the content and instructions.

I did provide them with very clear instructions and all the content, thinking I would have my website ready in 2 weeks. That was about three months ago and my site is still not finished.

They do not respond to any complaint, they simply ignore complaints. Very time I provided them with feedback regarding changes, they would send me an email back saying that changes were made while they weren't. So I kept sending emails back and forth, getting issues resolved in an extremely slowly and frustrating way.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

After having in depth discussions with their consultant about purchasing and having them install a new template for my website, I decided to go ahead, as they promised the world to me and assured me several times that they'd look after the transfer of old website to new template design, including meta data, SEO, etc...

This was the biggest mistake EVER! They only half transferred the information to new template and actually left all the sample pictures, logo and text on my new website! They even launched the new website without me being allowed to proof read it and check it for accuracy! I was in shock, given that I rely 100% on online business and these clowns from template monster actually damaged my business!

Obtaining a refund was ANOTHER big effort and they only offered a refund on the service to transfer old information to new template. They refused to offer a refund on the actual template I'd purchased from them, as they have a very shady clause regarding this!

Don't ever deal with this company, as they have absolutely no empathy towards clients and only interested in making a huge turnover on dodgy templates!

I was lucky to buy templatemonster template with a big discount, I also ordered logo and installation from templatetuning.
I was impressed with the speed of work - so I provided everything they requested, and voila - in 2 days I got my template live with my company name on it.

I am grateful, because I lack tech skills to work with templates, and actually I got what I wanted.

Well I could not disagree more with all the other reviewers of TemplateMonster. After a lot of searching of a template to suit a rock band, I finally found two candidates, both from TemplateMonster. I trialled a demo (free) template so I knew what I was getting myself in for (I am quite a newbie) and when I figured I could make this work, I bought one of the templates.

Installation was straightforward and went quite smoothly. All the features were as described and I was able to get them and a few other add-ons to work just fine. I had a few tricky questions regarding the location of some specific tuning parameters (e.g. Australian date format) and without exception the questions were answered accurately within 5 minutes each time, even though this would have been in the middle of the night in the USA on the Easter holiday weekend.

Only issue was with support for the Komento system that was included. Since I did not buy Komento from the vendor but it came as part of the template, I could get support from neither Komento nor TemplateMonster. That could have been a real problem except I realised it was something stupid that I had done so I ended up fixing it myself.

It has now been about 10 days since my purchase. My site is live and users are delighted. Check out my band: www.trippingcognito.com and you will see the template in action!

Very bad customer service, their template features is not as they advertising on their website. We purchased a template and after paying top $$$ from them we noticed it dosnt have any of the features they have are showing in their demo. FALSE ADVERTISING, MISGUIDING CUSTOMER. I AM FIGHTING TO GET MY MONEY FROM THEM

I have had a web site for many years and decided to step up and get a cool template to update it. I got the Halloween themed #******* for flash CMS. I downloaded it, set it up and worked on it for days. Two very major problems: 1) I found out by accident that IT IS NOT MOBILE COMPATIBLE. You have to create a whole separate html version of the site. Are you kidding?! 2) some features like creating a hyperlink to an image are insanely finicky - you go through the creating an action for that image and the program doesn't save your setting. I would have to try to get it to "take" over and over. When it would work, I would do the exact same thing again and it wouldn't work. The page length was the same - says it will go to ******* pixels, but setting it for anything past 2800 it would revert to that all the time and not apply changes. Very frustrating. I feel it is deceptive to not address the mobile version issue in the description of the web template.

Was considering one of their superb templates. But reviews online are awful, chat support was not very useful (other than "buy hosting too").

Where to start?

Our sales guy saw the template and sold the product based on he going price of templates ($10-$100). In the end is cost us $460 ($115 plus $240 for responsive design and the rest to 'change the color').

The initial product looks good - exactly what was displayed.
2 major problems.

First, we try to customize it we find that is doesn't use the standard wordpress interface. Its all custom fields, so it appears they designed this thing for their use and not for anyone not tech savvy to use. Fortunately I am tech savvy.

Second, the draft and review is either a programmer doing many templates at once or the worst entry level programmer to do this of all time. I quite literally learned jquery enough to do it on my own (sliders, gallery and css for the color change) in the time it took them to get back to me with the "finished product".

It is my belief that the founder was an artist and a web-genius and create a company that was not the ideal scene. They took his templates and through half-assery delivery a regurgitated mess and have a support line which does the same as they don't know how to code or simply don't want to.

Beautiful template. A shame I have to code the rest of it to work properly.

This company is a nightmare to deal with. They either do not read or do not understand customer communications. Their responses generally consist of a few useless lines and a link to a "solution" that's not even remotely a solution; it's a wild goose chase. They demonstrate almost no interest in actually resolving customers' issues. If there's anyone at Template Monster who does aspire to this, I have yet to meet that person - and I certainly have tried, over and over and over. Their templates are beautiful, but even so, I don't know how they stay in business when they demonstrate such a frustrating lack of regard for their customers.

Avoid this company! They requested us the copy of our credit card to confirm the transactions; for them, it is to avoid fraud!

Besides, when you request advice on their tchat online, you don't get any proper answer only a rep trying to sale hosting

Pathetic way of doing business, in todays day and age, there should be a plug to pull to put this mindset out of business. I have had better dealings with thugs holding 7-11's up then with a company who thinks every client is a donut to stick there finger thru.

They don't know what they are selling, have below 0 (zero) support, there is no way to cancel as there cancellation department is a voicemail which I bet some idiot has to delete every morning due to the amounts of calls they can get.

Their new scam is they have a company that you can hire for installation, that I can swear has never in their life scene a website, I am thinking some prison in the Gulag is where their call center is.

Such a sad way of doing business, I pity the poor web designers that put up their gorgeous well designed websites up on this site, that get thrown under the bus, due to the company that resells
