I've never written a review - but this was beyond absurd! Needed to move a refrigerator outside…. Canceled on by tasters 5 times. Really tried to hire local - some canceled through the night - others confirmed they were driving - then I got a company message that something came up. Never hire!

Dishonest charges

This company and their staff they advantage of the cancelation policies to charge customers for a lot of money. You can't even ask them if they can do the job if you don't book them. That's how they get you and charge for a service. They charged $50 to my account without telling me and refused to refund. They said they did a courtesy refund 3 years ago so I don't qualify. It's a scam. Don't do it!

As a tasker, you are expected to schedule your availability on the app. Even on the days you are not scheduled, you are expected to respond to task requests. The tasks are non-urgent and are not same day tasks. Task Rabbit will communicate with clients that the tasker must be busy and sorry that they are unable to fulfill your request. Task Rabbit should let the taskers respond to the client on the morning of the available day for these non-urgent task requests. TR makes the tasker look like they are not responding but does not add the fact that the tasker is not on duty.

Scammed by Tasker

"Tony was deceitful not only with his work but with his fees. I booked Tony for a 1pm appointment to do touch up paint in my family room on white walls. I was clear on the fact I didn't have paint and I didn't want mismatch colors and if he wasn't able to match the color I could NOT unmatched walls. Well that's exactly what I was left with, bright white patches throughput the living room, dining area and door way, I didn't ask for any other sections in the house just one location that was where a floating shelf was, I sent pictures just like he asked for prior to the task at 3am in the morning. I booked Tony for 1pm and he arrived before 1230pm, which is fine if you don't have a 1 yr old and don't want them in the house while a stranger is painting. The topper was me calling my husband to see what the work looked like and my husband tells me he Venmo Tony 160$, I was in shock because I've used task rabbit multiple times before and I know they charge my card when the Tasker complex the job and my card had already been charged 81$ for the task. I asked my husband why did you venmo Tony, he said he didn't know and Tony advised him he hadn't been paid. So not only did he steal money from my husband he over charged my husband and allowed me to be charged 81$. I immediately notified Tony and asked him why he had my husband Venmo him knowing he was paid through task rabbit and he said because your husband asked me if I was paid? I told Tony he needed to Venmo me the 81 $ I was charged through task rabbit and give my husband some of the money back as well he refused, he decided to venmo back 65$. So we paid 176$ for a job that should been 81$. I tried explaining this to Tony even though he knew exactly what he was doing, he responded to me saying he's not responsible for taking fees the customer is charged, and I should've stayed at my house while he did the job. I've never encountered anyone like this. I wouldn't allow anyone like this in anyone's home. When Taskrabbit finally responded to my claim that provided screen shot of my husband's venmo payment and messages with the tasker they went over their policy and that was it.

I was in need of a simple task to be completed and thought TaskRabbit would be a convenient option. However, upon receiving the bill, I was shocked to see that the service fee was over 30%. This fee is extremely high and it feels like TaskRabbit is taking advantage of people by charging such exorbitant prices. I felt like I was taken advantage of and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I understand that businesses need to make a profit, but this pricing structure is not fair to consumers. It seems like TaskRabbit is more interested in making money than providing a quality service.

Overall, my experience with TaskRabbit was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this service to anyone and I will not be using it again in the future.

I was unable to schedule for a task that would require two people. Several attempts were made with the help of the "Taskers"...who were trying to help. System may work as long as you only need one person - not able to comment on that. The support chat system is likely run by AI - time consuming and not sufficiently sophisticated to actually be responsive.

I used task rabbit in SF to pack up items to be shipped across the country. The packing was inadequate and a computer monitor cracked. When submitting a claim I was denied reimbursement because I did not take a photo or video of the tasker packing the item.

The happiness pledge is as marketing gimmick. Do not fall for it.

I had an issue w/ my kitchen sink my friend suggested to check them out. First, you need to register and add your credit card on their site so it's kinda iffy about it but I did it anyway. I made appt but I'd to cancel it w/in 24 hours. They didn't get my cancelation, the tech came but no one at home, so they still charged me for it. I called but the customer service so effing rude, she kept telling me I'd to abide with their policy (which I didn't really read it), so basically if you canceled w/in 24 hours you willl get charge for it. She didn't even try to work w me for a better solutions, so basically you canceled it that's your problem bc you didn't read our policy! Wth? I don't feel entitled for the refund but at least trying to have another way to solve the issue. So much for being a customer service. You better look for a handy man, plumber yourself don't bother w a middle person/company/taskrabbit and you still have to pay fee for them.

DO NOT USE! Whatever you do! Warning PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR CREDIT INFORMATION ON THE APP. AS TaskRabbit ALLOWS scammers to charge your credit cards recklessly! A Tasker by the name DESMOND PITTS! Came into my home to install (garage door opener, 2 small pendant light, & kitchen cabinet handle). He was informed of maximum installation charge time 2-3 hours charge time. If he is able to complete the task; he said yes. DO NOT USE ANYONE BY THAT NAME ON THEIR PLATFORM AS THEY STILL ALLOW HIM TO BE ON THERE. TaskRabbit, allowed this man to charge my credit card over $2,000! For something that did cost more than $400! When they were notified of the fraudulent charge! They informed me someone from their POLICY TEAM! Would help resolve this and credit my card, there is No POLICY TEAM! NO ONE WILL GET BACK TO YOU! Except give u run around! Call wait time takes forever and no help. They will just send you emails that someone from policy team will get back to you! THEY WON'T. HE did not complete my task; destroyed my property. I now have to sue him/TaskRabbit to be able to get my money which was stolen from me. Please, please, please save yourself the headache, stress, and frustration. THIS APP IS NOT WORTH IT. TRUST ME. I normally do not leave reviews even if it was bad service. This one needed a review as this has been THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Please save yourself please do not use and believe all the reviews you read! I made a mistake and did not read reviews prior to going on the App if I did I would have saved myself from this scammer promoting platform TASKRABBIT.

The "tasker" didn't just breat the glass table top. THey took off with the base as well. Incredibly bad service by the company after that. I was charged the full job and have zero recourse. Never again

Had my first Tasker ever verbally harassed me and cancel the task last minute. Had to hire another tasker at 4x the price last minute who was unable to actually complete the Task because he arrived super late (due to the first tasker cancelling last minute) and now TaskRabbit is unwilling to compensate me for any of this. Absolutely terrible, do not use.

Don't use them!

The assembler didn't read the instructions and we literally had to take the furniture apart and reassemble it. Even the couch frame was put on backwards. The majority of screws were hand tightened and loose. There were parts left over that should have been used in the assembly process.
Save yourself the money, grief and time of having to disassemble and reassemble their shoddy work!

Nobody Shows Up, Ever

If I could give them 0 stars I would. 3 times in a row I scheduled a job, and spoke with the person, only for them to cancel last minute or not show up. As in, I'm waiting at the time of the job, calling, texting, and it's like they disappear off the face of the earth. Do not waste your time.

CUSTOMER BEWARE!

I just want to warn you that there is no way to get an estimate from them till they get to your place. Once there, demand an estimate (and have knowledge of how long a task typically takes) or they would take all the time in the world, according to the very tasker that came to my house. ANYHOW, I had him put together a drawer unit for the garage (I had estimated that it would take me about 2 hours). He then delivered within the estimated time. I needed a second unit to be done also, which should have been ONE hour. But he was tired and said that I should set up another date. Which I did. He came and finished in about 30 minutes. I was about to pay for one hour, when he explained to me that it was his minimum 2 hours, even though he had agreed to continue doing the project from the day before. On top of that Task Rabbit has a mysterious charge for safety and trust of almost 50 dollars per visit. So, In my estimation I was had for about 100 dollars (the unexpected 2 hour charge and the safety and trust charge). I protested but he refused to back down, and rather than having an angry man in my house, I just paid for it. HE DID A GOOD JOB, but MAKE SURE that you ask all sort of questions, and be clear on the most minute details. I cannot recommend this outfit.

I Do Not Recommend

I hired someone recently to paint a hallway and small bathroom in my home and the paint job was sloppy and unprofessional. Task Rabbit does not allow taskers to bring additional parties to the job site and she brought another person and they did a terrible job. In addition, Task Rabbit has a Trust and Support Fee added on top of the taskers fee that is excessive. I paid over $200.00 for the paint job and there was an additional $100.00 fee added on top. This is ridiculous. When I called Task Rabbit's customer service to ask if they could credit me some of my money because the paint job was so bad and they offered me $80 + $10 to use on another task. I refused. This app does not have good quality painters and I do not recommend. The Trust and Support Fee is excessive and burns through customer's pockets.

I had the worst of the experience with Tasker who came to install a bunk bed for my Son on his birthday...however he had no clue what is he doing and asking for my help...so what's the point of paying for services? He was not able to go through the manual and completely damaged the frame of the bed and was in a real rush to go and promised to help if I require any help to file a complaint, but after the complaint was filed, the tasker is not responding to calls, text or voicemail...so kind of left with no help...hence I request anyone who wants to use this service be very cautious as after-sales service is kind of tricky...NEVER USE THIS SERVICE...rather invest your own time to install stuff!

What a bad experience. I hired Mauricio L. Spagnuolo through IKEA 's service and this yahoo emails me saying he can't do the job for the price IKEA commissioned. He demands 100 euro more as if he were a plumber or electrician complaining that the economy is bad and he's self employed. IKEA was paying him more than his profile asks. Less than 24 hours notice. What a jerk.

I booked with Abigail M. For a cleaning task at 12 PM today. She texted at 11:30, saying she is running late and I said it is ok. Then she disappeared and kept on saying she is getting delayed and I kept on waiting till 2 pm. I canceled all my appointments for the day and kept on waiting for her. Then she texted again saying she won't be able to complete the task to a good level because she will be late asked to cancel my task, and that she would come tomorrow instead. I clearly said I cannot do that because I work on Mondays till evenings and I booked her ages ago! I asked her politely to respect my time and actually respond since I have been waiting for several hours. Her response was that she canceled my task and said she did not like our tone.

I get charged if I cancel but the taskers do not get any penalties if they keep us waiting or cancel on us and speak rudely to us. This is unfair since we are paying for these services. Keep in mind that I tried calling her and she would not answer. Then she said that there are strikes (which is not true as you know today there are no strikes) then she contradicted herself again and said she has a task in Birmingham that she will go to (which does not make sense if there are rail strikes as she mentioned). She also charged me 16 pounds for not coming. How is this fair? How is this just? How is this professional?

I think this has happened several times already and this will truly affect the rating of your services. Sadly, I will be looking for other more professional services. We hope you take our reviews into consideration. This is unprofessional.
