After moving to Texas, I needed some furniture for my new place. I bought two pieces of IKEA furniture and the IKEA associate told me about the assembly services offered by Task Rabbit. I was excited to hear that there was a company that could put the furniture so quickly and probably do a great job. I didn't realize at the time that the company is made up of independent individuals doing the work. I made an appointment for the next day and was really happy about the quick turn around. But, then the individual canceled the appointment at 9 pm the night before the appointment. I made another appointment for the next day with a different individual for a Friday, and that individual sent me a message hours later changing it saying that he could only do it on Saturday. Two changes within two days made me not trust this company, so I canceled the appointment. What is the purpose of the appointment system if it is not reliable? Many of us work full time and have to take off work to make these types of appointments. I cannot imagine that I will use Task Rabbit in the future because of their reliably. I don't know about the quality of their work.
I hired a Tasker Anthony S to repaint my door. He charged me a miscellaneous charge for mysterious items that weren't used or that could be use on another job. He vacillated alot about how best to do job and took 6 hours to complete or should I say, he charged me 6 hours because he stood around talking and sharing pictures and drinking water. The door is horrible and he wanted to come back to put another coat on. He left the interior dirty with black fingerprints and the exterior side is dented, rough and smeared. The first guy hired as a painter named Cory, didn't have brushes or a ladder. Anthony S was the second. TaskRabbit suggested Julius and he didn't have brushes either! Anthony S didn't like my generous review of 3 with explanation, so he contacted me through chat and threatened me. I filed a report with the warranty department called Happiness Pledge but they wouldn't honor it.
Where do I start. Everything about this company is bad really bad. Ikea should think twice about their contract with this company as their reputation is at stake. Customer service terrible, taskers are totally ignorant of your time almost taking advantage of the fact that our needs are dependant on them. Their website is designed by an amateur.
I wasted 1week scheduling/rescheduling, calling customer service multiple times because of the above. Finally we ended up assembling the furniture ourselves. Would never recommend them.
Mr. Amir ( TaskRabbit) so called tasker came to my house and open all the boxes. Then he informed us that it is not possible to assemble my wardrobe and dresser since he is not trained. When I asked to discuss details about it. He told someone else will come so soon and just escaped from my house. I was waiting for 6 hours for someone else however none showed up. Additionally, customer service is worthless. After that, I called IKEA people for requesting some help. They just killed my valuable time and made my weekend ruined. I will not recommend TaskRabbit to anybody. They will only give you nothing but headache. Please think before order something on TaskRabbit.
TaskRabbit's current price is 35% service fee that doesn't reflect the experience I have had. The taskers that you hire given their profile are not the ones that show up at your door. They are very unprofessional and almost illegitimate workers operating out of one main profile account. I am surprised TaskRabbit hasn't been shut down yet for this kind of shady business practice. When you hire one worker, all of a sudden two show up. When you tell the tasker politely but firm you only hired one tasker, they try to get into a confrontation with them. Not a good way to make business trustworthy. Looking at further reviews of TaskRabbit it appears that others have experienced the same thing and Task Rabbit even know about it on their website yet it appears the problem still persist. Also taskers are not skillful in handling your belongings and make wrong judgements about your stuff. They do not know how to move heavy boxes by using a two person lift method instead they try to haul big boxes by themselves, risking injury as well as dropping the valuable belongings, which happened. I just want to warn people not to use this service and stick with professional moving services from now on. None of these mediocre clowns that don't know what they are doing and are operating all under the same name.
Tasker Tee M... deep cleaning
We hired Tee to deep clean condo unit including all appliances and windows... he did an excellent job within the time agreed and it was obvious he took great pride in his work.We highly recommend him and will certainly use his services again.
Director of the board, South West Oakville Condominium...
Booked over a week in advance for an IKEA set-up. No one showed up. Couldn't get ahold of anyone. Crap company don't waste your time in Toronto area
We hired TaskRabbit to assemble some IKEA furniture as they are the company IKEA recommends. Tasker (Russ) showed up - but got "offended" when the reception at the building asked him some routine COVID screening questions and decided to walk off the job altogether! Unbelievable! Contacted their customer service department and they were useless. Told me that I would have to wait until the next day to repost the job and just hope that someone would be available to complete it. Took no responsibility at all and told me there was nothing they could do as they deal with independent contractors. IKEA should really think twice about partnering with these idiots. Book with Jiffy if you want a reputable service you can count on.
Terrible. Task rabbit is a terrible company terrible they don't pay their Tasker‘s and they steal clients money they don't fix a problem they don't email they don't do nothing do not spend your money for their services you're going to get terrible service I'm telling you I'm a Tasker almost at a five star rating they don't help their good Tasker‘s get paid or nothing but they'll send bad Tasker‘s to mess everything up for one they don't pay their good Tasker‘s two they don't email they don't fix the situation they are a terrible company please don't waste your money on them find someone or another company that is closer to you You just better off doing it on your own..
I hired a tasker to reinstall brackets for the shelves in my pantry closet, the brackets were in place over ten years without issue before two screws came loose so I decided to use it as an opportunity to paint the closet and have all the shelves reinstalled, less than a month after the shelves were installed they started to come out of the wall, the brackets were not installed into the stud as they were previously. After contacting TR it took them three days to respond back to say they would do absolutely nothing to address this issue because it was past 14 days, so apparently, my improperly installed shelves should have fallen off by day 13 for them to address the issue.
I have requested to speak with a manager and asked for a contact person at their corporate headquarters, awaiting a response. I expect it will be another 3 days or more if at all.
Bottom line is, I now have to patch, paint and have the shelves installed properly at my cost
My recommendation DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
The worst taskers ever, they don't show up, taskers can decline a job last minute, this is what happened with me in Montreal. Never trust them.
Taskrabbit was a nightmare for me, i hired someone to mow and clean the yard they sent me a man looked homeless and was on drugs or something i got scared i had to cancel but they end up charging $100 anyway. I will never use this terrible service again
We hired Task Rabbit via IKEA for an install. Date/time was confirmed. A week before the install the tasker contacted us he was unable to make appt. However when we tried to reschedule he ignored our communications. We tried to rebook via the website which would not allow us to do so. We contacted customer service to assist, however every time we logged into the order to either rebook or chat with an agent my credit card was automatically charged a 29€ " pre-authorization fee". After 6 attempts we never got an agent who could help us rebook or assist with our issues. They simply sent us in circles. We finally stopped trying. To be fair the charges dropped off my account after several days but they were borrowing my money in the meantime for services never rendered. Overall this company is highly unprofessional, disorganized, their website is set only to their advantage not meant to actually assist customers and their charging systems are extremely unnethical. I strongly advise against it.
IKEA should also know better than to steer customers to such an irresponsible company.
Ashish set up my mom's double bed from ikea and my mother was very happy with his work and his manners was amazing great great service from the young man named ashiah who set up my mother bed my mother was extremely happy with his job
A tasker left the work incomplete and did damage to my home. I was charged over $300 and TaskRabbit did not find a resolution. Very weak dissatisfying customer care. Instead I had do pay close to $1000 for the damages to be corrected and the work done.
Unfortunately I can't give this company zero stars. The 1 star that I have given allows me to give my review!
I had never shopped in Ikea before until yesterday 21 June. I live in a upstairs flat and it is virtually impossible to get furniture up the stairs. A friend recommended Ikea, he told me they could arrange assembly of any furniture I bought from them. So I decided to buy myself a chair recliner. Ikea sent me a link in a text for Task Rabbit. I signed up to Task Rabbit and an appointment was made for a tasker to come and assemble my chair. By late afternoon Task Rabbit had cancelled my appointment so I made another appointment and this to was cancelled within a few hours. I'm a man in his late 70s who has never bought or assembled flat pack furniture and I don't intend trying now so to have someone come out and pay them to do the job has to be a bonus. Had I have read all the bad reviews about Task Rabbit I would never have gone to Ikea in the first place. Beware if you are thinking of buying flat pack furniture and are unable to assemble it yourself the please think twice about using Task Rabbit.
I hired Abul to patch and paint 5 different areas. When I took off commando tape the paint peeled off. This job should of taken tops 2 hours and that is being generous. It took him 3 hours. The 1st day took him 2 hours and we planned for him to come back the next day at 3. He showed up at 5 with some lame reason why he was late. He was very unprofessional. When I called taskmaster to complain he put me on hold to speak to a supervisor and after waiting for 20 min I hung up. I called the next day and the women first said she would give me a credit of $25 and I should be compensated because the job should of not taken so long and again put me on hold to talk to someone else. But before she transferred me she said she would be sure to give me a credit for$20. She doesn't even know what she said to me. I was put on hold for 25 min then I hung up. A worthless lying company.
Hired a Tasker to pack my house. I was pretty clear about what I needed to do and I reiterated it when he arrived. He expressed eagerness and a go-get-em attitude, so imagine my surprise when 2.25 hours - $182.62 - later, I'm left with this. 1.3 shelves of books are packed (the shelves on the far right are mostly empty) and my room looks like hell.
At the rate of speed + $, I would end up spending $950 to pack up 5 shelves of books. Also, he built the banker's boxes and just chucked them into a pile. Seriously?
I asked him if there some way we could work together and he could provide a bid, but the answer was an emphatic no, it was by the hour or not at all. Plus, he wanted to bring in at least 2 more people... at that rate, I'd be $10k into the packing on the low side, and I still wouldn't be guaranteed that the house would be packed. He wanted to do it all on spec.
That's a hard pass from me.
So, I found another Tasker. This individual was supposed to be here at noon, local time. At 11:58 I received a text saying he was on his way. At 12:35, I called and asked him where he was. He said he was 10-15 minutes out.
I'd agreed to hire him for 1 hour, no more. I had a hard stop at 1 PM so I told him not to bother. If he can't be here on time or at least have the courtesy to call and tell me he was running behind, I don't want to deal with him. That's just asking for trouble as the precedent has been set if I accepted this behavior. Tasker removed this clown from my account and history, so I can't leave any feedback. That tells me this is like Rotten Tomates; the vote is rigged to favor the company, against the customers.
I called Tasker Customer Service. I waited on hold twice for 18 and 21 minutes respectively. No one was home, well, they weren't picking up the phone at any rate. I would bet dollars to donuts that they NEVER answer the phone. EVER.
This is a $#*!show and the positive feedback has to be a scam. Both "Taskers" I chose had a 99% and 97% favorable rating respectively.
I was moving to a new place and needed a closet system. I had a Boaxel closet designed at IKEA. They advertise Task Rabbit all over their website. Hired Mark C. A highly rated Tasker to install. Didn't want to micromanage him. When I moved in and started to fill this very large walk-in closet, one side of the closet detached from the wall. He only mounted the uprights with 3 screws when there were supposed to be 8. I was in the closet when it fell. Had to walk over clothing to get out. Newly plastered and painted wall ruined. Task Rabbit offered me two free hours of a Tasker as compensation, a joke. I will take them to court Task Rabbit and their Tasker to court if they don't reimburse me for all costs.
Very unprofessional service and weak customer service, no recommend to any body, very bad experience with TaskRabbit.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
