The overall reputation of the company reflects a mix of positive and negative sentiments. Customers appreciate the convenience, product variety, and competitive pricing, particularly praising the store's layout and exclusive brands. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, with reports of long wait times, unresponsive staff, and issues with online orders and returns. Many customers express frustration over outdated products and perceived indifference from management. These trends suggest that while the company offers a strong shopping experience, substantial improvements in customer support and service reliability are needed to enhance overall customer satisfaction.

I recently ordered two pair of cowboy boots from the site for my brothers wedding. I received them in a timely manner, was very thrilled with the products and sizes, and am ready to get down at my Brothers Fall Wedding. Yehawwww!
Target got much worse than it used to be. We recently bought a baby chair, checked it at home and found out that it was not good for our baby. They did not want to get it back, though we had a receipt and not used it it at all. They said that they cannot get children products back. Shame on you guys. I wish I would go to another store if I knew.
I ordered an above ground pool on 8/1/2013. Web site said delivery date would be between 8/8-8/13. The delivery date was very important!
They waited a whole week to let me know the order was "delayed" and wouldn't arrive until the 20th-22nd. I immediately called and cancelled the order on the 7th, and then got an email later that day that my order had "shipped". I use quotes because the order did not actually ship, according to UPS, until the 19th.
However, the entire time their customer service insisted the package was en route with UPS and would arrive on the 20th-22nd. My only option would be to refuse the package when it gets here and wait for a refund. It didn't end up arriving until the 26th. Unbelievable. Now I have to wait two weeks for a refund.
Every time I called customer service they just lied about the package shipping and the delivery date. Look at other reviews - this seems par for the course. Claim a delivery date, then keep delaying, deliver it even later, and hold the customer's money for 1 - 2 months. Will absolutely never, ever order from target.com again.
Target.com is horrible.
1. Purchased an egiftcard on their site which didnt work. When I called they said the egiftcards could only be used online (not true), then they stated the ecard was canceled by the purchaser because it was stolen (not true), finally got the stupid giftcard to work by signing up for the target app and for their egiftcard program only to have the app crash every time I try to retrieve the giftcards.
2. Had my baby register on target.com. Did not have receipts with every gift purchased and was told at the store the items couldnt be returned at the store or online without the original receipt (not true). After HOURS calling their online customer service we found out all that needed to be done was to print out my original registry list.
3. Ordered items on their website. The post office couldnt deliver (I dont know why) and I was told I had to call target.com to get the items retrieved. Target.com refused to help and told me to call the USPS 1-800 number. They wouldnt call for me, tell me what I was suppose to tell USPS, or explain how this would help the situation since USPS would release the items to me without target.com's approval.
4. Emailed *******@target.com multiple times about all of these problem with no help. All they will do is reiterate your problem back to you without any solution. When I told them this didnt help and all they were doing was reiterating what I just told them, they stopped responding to my emails.
DONT USE TARGET.COM!
I have had a target card for over 20 years now and I absolutely love their department stores, that's about the only department store I shop at faithfully, but, I gotta say I'm real disappointed with their online store, for months I've been trying to get a log-in account created and it states it doesn't recognize me, I've tried every bit of info. About me to get an account started and I'm always denied, I've called customer service about the problem and they seem to try to assist me with this issue, so after talking with them I'll go back to the site like they instruct me too and it's the same ol story each time. It doesn't offer a place on the site to make a payment on your target card, unless that's somewhere in the site for only account users ( I wouldn't know cuz it won't let me register). So to say the least it's been real frustrating since I've been a card holder and regular customer for over 20 yrs. With the same name and info. And yet I don't exist to them online. I would recommend the department store to all but, I can't say that for the online site!
Do you trust Target.com? Have you ever read this New York Times article? http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/19/magazine/shopping-habits.html
Seems Good! I thing it's not more userfriendly website, They should revamp this with more user friendly.
I ordered a Wii game for the family from Christmas. I thought it was for the Wii, I didn't not see the U, and I'd also been unaware there even was a Wii U. So I threw out ALL the packaging and the box, and the shipping labels, and unwrapped it from the cellophane and rewrapped in Santa paper and put it under the tree! Christmas morning when they opened it from the box and put it into the wii, that's when we realized it was not the correct game. I called our LOCAL target, explained what happened, and they advised all we had to do was bring in the game, with the credit card I used to purchase it online with, and they'd allow for an even trade. No hassle, no problems, friendly and helpful. My mistake, and target easily made it right for our family. I didn't realize that Target will except opened online purchases in the store even with no labels or barcodes. All you needed is the card you used to purchase. I love target, always have and this dreadful mistake on my part, was happily taken care of by the people in red! LONG LIVE TARGET! <3
Love Target! Never had a bad experience and always end up buying more than I intended to. Easy returns with no hassle!
False advertising, pretending promotions never existed, called 3 times and emailed 3 times, still not resolved. I have proof (a print screen of my cart) that my items are eligible, and they are pretending that this promotion never existed.
Hated this site until i signed up for my RED card. They charged outrageous shipping rates to Hawaii ($60 for a $10 t-shirt) even though they have a bunch of stores here. Now with my RED card, i get free shipping and it's no longer an issue.
This is our favorite retail store. We just used our red card to buy online through their site. The same good experience as we've gotten used to with Target. They're a great retailer.
The only complaint is they are usually a little expensive however their stores are clean and they offer fantastic service.
I like to shop at Target too much. Is so much better than when I going to Walmart. Target have button and they are there to help in less than a minute and with a good attitude. Stores are clean and no long lines and messy and bad attitude workers like Walmart.
Target is my favorite.
My favorite place to shop - beats Walmart in every possible way! Walmart always has ridiculous lines instead of opening more lanes, staff is generally unhelpful when we go to Walmart.
Target on the other hand is so refreshing and such a nice place to shop. We have never had anything less than a wonderful experience at both Target.com as well as any Target store we have visited. Keep it up, you provide a wonderful place to shop and so many people appreciate that, plus you do so much for the communities which we appreciated :)
I LOVE Target. Maybe because I dislike Walmart but this is my store for things around the house. I LOVE Super Target. I am lucky to have on close by. They have an entire grocery store and I really like the archer farms brand they carry. It's organic and very good! Their red velvet cake (in bakery section) is one of the best I've had!
I've never had any bad experiences with ordering from target.com. The only complaint I have is that shipping isn't as fast as walmart.com and other sites.
The better Walmart. Nothing in this site tends to stick out (which is why I gave it an average score). It's your typical department store website; order products online, find stores near you, see what stores near you have in stock, etc. But just because nothing sticks out doesn't make it bad. It's exactly what you'd expect it to be, and reliable as well. I've never had an order through target.com go wrong or become troublesome. It's Target in website form.
Poor customer service. They mislead customers by enticing them to order items which are suppose to be in the correct size but when item is received in sizes larger than they're suppose to be they will neither apologize nor return the shipping cost. Clearly, even if item is defective if you're wording is anything but then they will not accept the return of shipping. What a ripoff!
Answer: Looks like Target has sent a lot of ringers here to up their ratings in the last few months. Nice try guys but your whole shopping experience is still subpar. To answer this question, IT DEPENDS on where you live and what you order. If you're right next to their warehouse, SURPRISE, it's there in a day and you think they are fantastic. If you live far away, the item is no longer in stock or they are slow to fill it, it could take six weeks. It did for us on a couple of occasions, SO it's the luck of the draw and certainly NOT better than Amazon.
Answer: Be careful. If the item suddenly becomes unavailable that you already paid for you will have to wait 30 days for your refund.
Answer: Sometime from other sites, malware can be picked up to track your internet history. I don't think target's website would carry that!
Answer: I'm sorry. I ordered a lot from target.com and never had a problembefore, but when I finally did have a problem... hours and days on the phone. One of the service techs put me on hold for 30 minutes. Another put me on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up. Horrible.
Answer: I was unable to purchase a prepaid phone card with my gift card. This fact was not disclosed in the product description so I found out at the checkout when it was too late. Now am stuck with the useless gift card. I am very disappointed in Target shopping and will never buy anything from them ever again. I do not recommend Target shopping to anyone. Spare yourself some aggravation and shop elsewhere. Enough said.
