I have been waiting over a month and payed half of the cost of my order in shipping, yet have still not received a working product. They don't keep the stock they advertised and have a useless customer service who are almost impossible to contact

It amazes me that this business is still in business. Don't attempt to expedite delivery from this lot as they incompetence is beyond comprehension, that fact that they cannot evens reach their drivers or tell their real time locations, let alone the delivery "team" that attempts to help solve your situation and then just tell one sad story after the other when they cannot evens arrange the simplest of meeting to pick up a package on the drivers route. Useless this bunch, last time ever and I hope that Amazon rubs their faces in it when they arrive in SA. Now I just hope that the products that I bought is not as $#*!ty as their delivery service.

Note deserving of a star...your shareholders should fire your CEO and leadership team

Takealot has jumped from 10 out of 10 to 1 out of 10.

At first you used to get notified where and when your delivery will be delivered via text. That is no longer the case.

The delivery date stipulated is not adhered to and there is NO communication to notify you why there is a delay.

As a loyal customer this is really bad service especially once you have set the benchmark so high.

Perhaps they should stop outsourcing on franchises as that is not working at all.

They delivered 3 solar panels and I paid for 1. Did not meet my needs and I retuned them. Since then they don't answer calls and I'm waiting for my refund. Emails not responded to as well.

Rude courrier guys

I like ordering from you but if my next order is gonna be delivered by the guys who deliverd my order today 26 May 2023, it will be the last time I buy from you. They questioning me about my delivery address, on my order I wrote my residential address they shouting why I didnt write my work address, like seriously why would I want my order to be delivered at my workplace. If they can shut they must not deliver my order or I will stop ordering from you.

Please train your courrier guys proffessionalism and must learn to shut up and do thier job. I repeat if you gonna send those guys I rather cancel my order now and refund me my money. I have been ordering from you since 2019 I never encouncer such nonsense from courrier guy.

Shocking service received. Brought a brand new TV online. Received it on the 16th of March 2023. Only got to open it on the 1st of April as we were on holiday. TV was broken inside of the box - seems that it must have fallen during the delivery process or at the warehouse. Return logged - Tv collected 3 April. Waited for replacement - only to be notified that it will not be replaced as they only provide a 7 day return? Although their website states Hassle-Free Exchanges & Returns for 30 Days & 12-Month Limited Warranty. Raised my complaint and received confirmation that they will deliver my replacement and are thankful that I am sharing my concerns with them - only to find their delivery van here this morning delivering my same broken TV? I buy so many valuables at Takealot and this is the first time I'm encountering this shocking level of customer service. They blatantly sold me a broken Tv and I am losing R10 000 because I failed to open the box within 7 days? Requested manager feedback - nothing received. If this is how they do business and falsely advertise and have numerous hidden fine print I will advise that you rather purchase your valuables at more reliable stores. Then they have the audacity to ask me to rate their service on email? And the courier guy does not give me this option- he selects satisfactory service on his electronic device right after I sign and leave.

Ongoing saga with Takealot...
This company has been content over the years to "take a lot" of our money. Personal items, gifts, business equipment and purchases on behalf of clients - we have found it a convenient platform for almost everything we need, with good prices and good service.
But then something changed.
Takealot became an open marketplace where anyone and their dog could open a drop-shipping tab and sell whatever they wanted.
Prices became unpredictable, changing arbitrarily and often to ridiculous amounts.
Delivery times became problematic, sometimes fluctuating wildly after an order was placed.
And the quality of the products has noticeably declined, so that we often have to return items that are either of poor quality, do not match the description or are faulty.
Now our account has been blocked (without giving any reason) and has not been reactivated even after several messages.
Finally, we were told that the suspension was because of "too many returns".
Well, yes! Supply *******@ppy products; get a lot of returns!
Latest update - we received an email telling us that our last purchase (which we were charged for) was cancelled "at our request" - NOPE! We didn't ask to cancel the order, YOU did, Takealot!
The email also said that a refund would be made to our account - which is still blocked and inaccessible at this point. You're joking, right?
We're done playing this game. Once this issue is resolved, we'll take our business elsewhere.
The balance between convenience and annoyance has shifted in the wrong direction.

They impose strict rules on sellers, yet do not keep to their own service level agreement. They are perpetually late on their 3 to 5 working day response times, sometimes they take a whole month to respond.
They lost or damaged 20% of our stock, and only offered to reimburse about 7% of the market value.

Keep away from this ecommerce site.

Misleading advertising

I ordered GREEN leaf solar floodlight at takealot supply by Jason only to receive Jortan solar lamp. I returned the item to be replace with the original item, and told them I ordered GREENLEEF light because I am familiar with the brand, instead I received a refund. They claim item is unavailable even though they continued to advertise it as in stock, that's duping customers by advertising Greenleaf brand but then deliver a different brand. As a customer my consent is required if I am to receive a different item. This is misleading advertising.

I cant believe the dishonesty of Takealot which pretends to have provided me with 2 same deliveries on the same day, charging me for both. I only received one and asked them to provide a proof of a signed for delivery. They cant and refuse to reimburse me for the fictitious second delivery which made me loose R2000. That how the fraudulent takealot makes its money

Takealot has the Worst customer service ever!
It's been a week and my issue with my order has not been resolved. When you request to escalate the problem to senior management then the same operators simply just ignore you on their Takealot App/email.

We didn't receive the order and now I see the date has been pushed back *again*
We ordered the Dec 25th, estimated delivery was the 29th of Dec
Then when I checked again, it was 3 Jan,
Then checked again, it was 10 Jan,
Then 16, then 17 then 19,
Now it says the 20th,

I have never experienced this kind of issue before, being pushed back so many times but BOTH items show
"Eligible for next-day delivery or collection"
So how can this be happening? It makes no sense.
It feels like your website is misleading when it's stating this, yet almost a month has passed.

We have cancelled the order, but with this experience I don't feel I can rely on takealot in future and we will not be ordering again as a result.

Bought 6 sets of MEDALIST dumbbells via Takealot. Sets ranging between pairs of 1kg to 7kg. Upon opening of these MEDALIST dumbbells, it was immediately visible that the neoprene covering is loose, already falling off on some and crumbling inside the packaging (photos have been taken). I returned all of it, as received with tags in original packaging. Takealot however decided to reject 1 of the MEDALIST dumbbells with reason of "User abuse" but refunded all of the other. Upon lodging a complain Takealot rejected my honest review of the faulty items sold by them. Furthermore, despite evidence of item being new, like the refunded other items of the same order, which they happily accepted as their fault, they wish to still burden financial loss on their clients for their poor quality.
Luckily there are honest review sites such as Sitejabber that can grant me the opportunity to warn other about MEDALIST products sold by TAKEALOT!

I had an extremely poor experience with takealot. It's sad that the only way of contacting someone for help is the customer service help form that gets sent to people that dont understand the terms and conditions for the company they work for. I had a refund put in for an order that used a coupon and the website clearly says that when a coupon is used the person will be refunded and a new coupon will be given to the person. DON'T FALL FOR THIS! The customer service agents do not understand this and instead just give you a voucher! You either dont get a refund or you dont get a voucher back! NEVER PURCHASING WITH TAKEALOT AGAIN.

Regularly happens now that Takealot waits until the delivery date that the order will be delayed by another 2 weeks. This is usually because of one item in the basket which delays the whole order. Systems don't allow for partial deliveries or collections and their official response is always a non sensical "the instructions has been drop for the order to be delivered"? They don't own the products they sell, so essentially they are just in the middle to facilitate the sale with customer service. They know zero about customer service - once you pay you are at the mercy of their poorly designed systems! Advice - never group order together, break it up to just over R500 each!
