Take 5 in Ogden, Utah.

What a crap show. The high school student working there could not get the bolts loose on my car's skidplate. So...they simply put in the new oil without changing the filter!... Now when I crawl under there to have a look, the bolt heads are completely rounded!

Pricing
January 17, 2024

A Take 5 recently opened near me so I called to find out the price for a conventional oil change. Strike 1…I was asked what I meant by conventional. Strike 2…I was told I would potentially have to sign some kind of document to waive the warranty. Strike 3…After all of that discussion, I asked again for the cost. 💲70-$80. Seriously?

Place is a joke. Might be able to con a lil old lady but I'm a grown man with extensive mechanical knowledge.air filter is new and I saw him bang it on the trash can and no dust came out but he is standing at my window insisting it's filthy.and tring too flush my radiator so it doesntfreeze. Its been 0degrees last 2 days if it were gonna freeze it already would have. Premium full synthetic is actually not required for my 4cyl Chevy lol. Then they stole my coupon didn't run it so they give me a new one for next time that's already expired...premium full synthetic is actually not required for my 4cyl Chevy lol. What a joke

Dirty oil
January 13, 2024

Dirty oil was used for my oil change. It was two quarts short of oil put into my car. My car was checked 30days later and no oil was in my car. Customer service by the manager was awful because they refused to refund the cost of the oil change. This was clearly the fault of Take 5 workers but they weren't willing to show any accountability in their terrible work. Never got to Take 5 again!

I had took my car to get a regular, run-of-the-mil oil change, only to find out that they drove me off with no oil and 3 miles down the road, the engine is completely seized. When I had stopped in the middle of the road to inspect it, I checked the oil dipstick: BONE dry. It's like they completely forgot to add oil after they've installed the oil filter. I am currently working with them to get my engine replaced, but they're so laxed about it like they didn't mess up my car. They're continuing to stretch the process of getting my car fixed and as you can imagine, it is extremely frustrating. Never ever let Take 5 touch your car...

Worst experience.
January 5, 2024

I had one car in front of me and still waited for 1.5 hours. I had a coupon but they couldn't take it because the systems weren't accepting it. They also forgot to reset the low oil warning on the odometer.

High mileage rip off
January 4, 2024

It's not even high mileage oil. It's basic oil with 4 pumps of an additive and they charge you 40 dollars more. 10 dollars per pump from a bottle they pay 10 dollars for. Gtfoh. Fu

I went to Take 5 to do a routine radiator flush and drove out with a car leaking antifreeze. Had no prior leaks before my visit. The manager, Jay, notice a woman pull into the shop that he needed to spend time with and allowed 3 inexperienced workers to do my radiator flush. He gave them a few minute crash course on how a flush was done and then walked away. After they did a pressure check running the car as high as 4000 RPMs, it began to over heat. Jay put his assistant in charge of the store operation and personally worked on my car to figure out what went wrong. He even tried a pressure test himself, but forgot to put the cap on the reserve tank and antifreeze shot out all over the engine. Jay worked nearly 8 hours trying to fix the problem before giving up and telling me I had a hose that was leaking. He said he could not fix it and I was suppose to take it to somewhere else to get repaired out of my own pocket. Cost me $386. Ouch!

Deception
December 28, 2023

I took my vehicle for service because I saw a 25 percent discount for veterans and military. I had the coolant and oil service. It was expensive, but the discount would help. Wrong. The mgr. Told me it only applies to oil change. That's not what the sign says. I took a photo. I do not recommend take 5 oil change. Did the photo come out?

I decided to try the Take 5 oil change which recently opened here in Richmond, Indiana. They were very nice and pleasant, I thought the price was a bit high, but then they gave me a 25% discount because I am a veteran. My issue is that I noticed oil on my driveway a few days after the oil change. I am disabled and in a wheelchair, so I am not able to crawl under my truck and see what is going on. It took a couple more days to get a mechanic friend to look and see what the issue was. Turns out the new oil filter put on by Take 5 was not completely on. It was completely lose and leaking oil.

I do not care how many bottles of water you give, or how big of a discount, there is no excuse for a business thats only job is to change oil to not get the oil filter on correctly. It just screws on. For them to mess up on such a simple thing as screwing the oil filter on, I cannot say if it was incompetence or just being lazy. In either case, I will never go back.

I sat and waited for an hour and 15 minutes only to be told when I got ready to have my oil changed that they did not have my filter again! Also I would have been out of there 15 minutes sooner but they pulled the car in front of myself and another person who had been sitting there for quite some time and did their oil change first. This is very frustrating to me. I will not be going back to take five oil change as they are going downhill with their service.

Was on the road and needed an oil change. Stopped at a Take 5 on the west coast of Florida for the service. Oil change went smooth enough. Guy was professional. But 5 minutes down the road and found i was dragging the cover. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THIS DIFFICULT! Just put the screws back in and make sure they are tight.

God awful service!
November 14, 2023

Arrived at 10:10 am. Three techs on duty. I was told there was one ahead of me. The techs were having a good time laughing and talking about someone that was shot in the leg and cheek. At 10:35 I'd had enough. I got out of my car closed to hood and told the three techs I was leaving. Didn't bother them at all.
