T-Mobile's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived deceptive practices regarding promotions and service quality. Many customers report issues with billing, unresponsive customer service, and difficulties in resolving problems, leading to frustration and a sense of betrayal. While some reviews acknowledge initial satisfaction with service and product offerings, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a trend of distrust and disappointment, particularly concerning support after the sale. This feedback suggests a pressing need for T-Mobile to enhance its customer service approach and better honor promotional commitments to rebuild trust and retain customers.

I been a tmobile customer for 14 years and I can't believe I'm still with them. This is the definetly the last month with them I rather not have a phone. I CALLED in to make a payment and the charge me a stupid $5 fee to make a payment early, and the only reason was, I work crazy hours and for some reason I can get there app to take my payment. But that's not even the worst part I just bought the new S8 phone and paid it in full cash. Once I got home it wouldn't work so I CALLED in and they told me it was not set up on there end and they had to charge me a $20 upgrade charge for it to work properly. That right there is some B. S. I just paid tmobile $750 now they want another 20 to allow it to work, A big $#*! YOU tmobile way to rob your long time customer I mean ex-customer
Since I started to use t mobile services they've put me in a situation that I was needed to contact them to resolve numerous customer care related problems!
They've made so many mistakes (not just a couple, but maybe about 10!) and it took hours (literally for 6 months being with them I've spent totally more than 40 hours of my life over the phone!
And extra money which I lost being with them - ( the first goal was to switch from ATT and Verizon to save money) at the end, I've lost hundreds of dollars,
I was with SImple mobile, ATT, Verizon - they never had so many miscommunicating stupid mistakes as T mobile!
Don't switch to T Mobile - SAVE YOUR money, time and health!
No coverage whatsoever dropped calls cannot make calls or receive calls in mint hill and Indian trail nc.
Very Disappointed

The deals sound great, and they say that they are cheaper maybe like a $1 or so but not much. The bills are not constant, so is the service have 3 bars but cant make a call or text. I had to restart my phone to get service every time I left a building that had wifi. Lost service while on the freeway in the middle of the valley. When my phone broke under warranty had to wait to get a new one, really frustrating when you are expecting an important call that day. They have also lied about the speed their service works it's very slow.
This is the worst telecom company, I do not recommend anyone to share with them, even if they offered you a free line, because then they will steal you by deceiving you and take unwarranted amounts from the start. I do not have an international communication service. From the start, when my son played on the phone and made an international phone call, even though I am not a subscriber to the international call service, they added $ 134 to the monthly bill. When we contacted the customer service, they never helped us and also offered to share with them and take IPhone 7 is free to give them your old phone this offer all Lie with them, and after they did not pay socialist the full amount of the company and the old was vorizen and the old company Talaptna to pay $ 200 increase because the company did not t mobil pay them the full amount
Data speeds are terrible in Lake Jackson, TX. Spotty voice service down 288 until Pearland. Don't use T=Mobile if you're south of Beltway 8.
So I switched carriers to t mobile got a sweet deal for a nice phone. So I order my phone on the 18th of may. I received the phone on the 25th of may. Started my account that day. The I get billed for the 11th of June and my close out date is on the 17th. I just spent 177 dollars and now they want me to pay a 129 dollar bill that I only had service less than a month. No extension on my first payment. So somebody plz tell me how my bill is due on the 11th when I had no service with them. Better yet why is my close out date the 17th but I order my phone on the 18th. This why t mobile is not a top tier company just bad business all the way around.
I have been loyal to this company for many years. I have always paid my bill on time, and I always referred friends and family to this company. Today, I have a different view:
Last month, my boyfriend and I changed our plan to the $100 for 2 line plan. You must be on an automatic payment cycle to receive this discount. Well, last week, Tmobile made an error, and deducted $173.40 TWICE! Because of this, my bank was withdrawn, and my other bills for the month were also being deducted. Chase charges $34 per withdrawn payment. I was charged $64 last week, and today, and addition charge was taken out. I was told by multiple operators that they were going to refund my account, as well as refund my over charge fees. However, they did not do that. I was specific in asking to have the money RETURNED BACK INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT! I still have bills to pay. However, only the $173.90 was returned to my bank account. The withdrawn charges were not. Tmobile applied the $64 to the next billing cycle, even after I was PROMISED it would be in my bank account.
This company, even after you are loyal to them, will not help you when they have made a mistake. I am a student, and I live my life on a strict budget. I pay my bills on time, but because of TMOBILS mistake, I am completely out of $94 in my bank account. That $94 was supposed to pay for my school loan payment and my utility bills. This company is not reliable. They are thieves. Sure, the credited my next billing cycle, but what good is that to me? I need my money back into my bank account to pay my house hold bills and school bill. Tmobile promised me the money into my bank, but today, another representative informed me that they are unable to return the money back into my bank account. They lied to me. They record their your calls, and I promise you that I was told my money was going to be credited back into my bank account, BUT THEY LIED! Worst phone company. Do not sign up with them. They will take your money.
I've been a t mobile customer for a little over 3 years. I would not recommend choosing t mobile. The service just keep getting worse. They offer deals and promotions, but in the end there are no discounts, no specials. It's all smoke and mirrors. The unlimited plans are not unlimited. Data usage is very poor. The customer service is poor especially in the stores. Overall, don't waste your time or money for an unnecessary headache.
I ported 3 numbers over to add to my existing Tmoblie account from Verizon to save money and take advantage of a promotion they offered to receive a Samsung Galaxy S7 free when you trade in a device and come from another network. I traded in 2 New Motorola G4 pluses and got my Samsungs. On the next bill they charged me for the phones. I called to fix the error and was told that my trade-ins didn't qualify for the promotion. Even though the store took the phones. I was never given a credit of any kind for the trade-ins. I have been trying to resolve the issue with their Loyalty department for the last 2 frustrating months. I was told I would get a call back at the end of April with a resolution. No call. 2 weeks later and I'm calling then back. Every time I call its the same thing, I talk to a customer service rep who asks me to tell the story all over again (even though they supposedly take notes on the account) then they transfer me to a Loyalty specialist who asks me to go over the story again. This morning I've been on the phone with them for over 2 hours. I've been disconnected twice and received no call back (even though they ask for a call back number in case you get disconnected), had to call them and yes go over the story all over again. I still have no resolution. They said they will not give me credit of any kind. T Mobile stole my Motorolas and conned me into buying 2 Samsungs that retail for over $1100. How is it possible to be this incredibly inept? I used to think Comcast had the worst customer service. I was wrong. I'm using my tax return to pay off the Samsungs and porting back to Verizon and I will never, ever use Tmobile again.
I had Verizon for years until a few months ago when my family and I switched to Tmobile. I never had a single problem with Verizon. However, I've been having nothing but problems with Tmobile. I'm constantly having to toggle off Tmobile as the carrier and restart my phone to get it to work for a few days before doing it all over again. I would go to call someone, but it wouldn't ring and would just drop the call. Others would try to call me, but it either wouldn't show up on my end, or they wouldn't hear me when I answer. I've had texts not come through to me for a week. Me being a small business owner, such a problem could cost me money and result in unsatisfied clients when they can't get a hold of me. I tried going to Tmobile and asking for them to fix the issue when I first started noticing these problems (so... right away), but they were completely clueless in resolving it. Don't ever get this carrier. Just don't do it.
We've had T-Mobile as our cell phone carrier for 8 years. The path was fair to good, but never excellent. Myself and my son switched over to Verizon, but my daughter stayed with T-Mobile and has never regretted it more than today.
Long story short, she purchased a new phone in Jan at which time she handed over her old phone. Now, four months later T-Mobile said that she never turned in the old phone which is normal when you get a new phone right? But no, T-Mobile claims they never received it. We do share part of the blame though. Our fault is that we didn't read the paperwork we received when the new phone was purchased; in short the paperwork didn't state that we turned the phone over to T-Mobile. So even though the employee at the store graciously took the old phone and handed us the new one, he didn't record it in their system.
The result is that we now have to pay $170 for the old phone in addition to the new phone and the service. The representative at the Longmont, CO T-Mobile store was not willing to credit our bill, so T-Mobile is willing to lose a long-standing customer over $170. Nice huh? My only true regret is staying with them so long.
On a side note, the only one in our family who ever loses signal is my daughter the T-Mobile customer, while my son and I have never had signal issues with Verizon. So these two reasons are why T-Mobile is losing our business.
Tmobile should be up to speed with its competitors. As a loyal customer, I feel that the interaction should have been much smoother and less frustrating, stressful and costly for me. I have been with the company for years and though I pay my bill on time with not as much as an extension, that returning s device that I paid for less than a week prior, should not be costly to me. Yet it was. As much as I like sticking with my uncarrier, I have to seek service in the future from someone who also has the interest of their loyal consumers in mind.
I went to T-Mobile to buy a cheap top up plan for 30-days. They didn't have any top up packages that lasted 30 days, so the best I could do was the "$30 Tourist Plan". It cost me $42 plus change. Twenty-one days later, I lost all service. I went back to T-Mobile and waited nearly an hour (even though there were 3 employees and only one customer ahead of me). After all that time, they told me the plan I bought was only a 21-day plan. The other guy had lied straight to my face. They refused to rectify the situation and said that I must pay if I want service for the remaining 9 days. I refused, went home, and checked my original paperwork. Nowhere in the paperwork does it say the length of the plan! Why? The only reason would be to trick people into having to pay for additional service. They're ripping off their own customers!
Every time I get in a building I lose my service, which makes me mad because I pay on the exact day!
I LIVE IN MOMUOTH COUNTY AND THE DAY OF THE SNOW STORM, WHICH WE HAD NO SNOW MY WIFE AN I TOOK A RIDE TO THE MAMOUTH MALL. I SAW T MOBILE AND I WAS GREATED BY A GUY NAME PEIRO I TOLD HIM I WAS FROM STATEN ISLAND AN IAM FED UP WITH VERIZON. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT T MOBIL SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE A GREAT UNLIMITED PLAN AN I WOULDNT BE UNHAPPY. I DID TELL HIM I WOULD COME BACK ON FRIDAY AN HE STATED THAT HE RUNS TOMS RIVER LOCATION. I TOLD HIM I WOULD BE THERE SO TODAY ST PATS DAY I WENT. I CLOSED MY VERIZION ACCT I HAVE 2 NEW PHONES AN EXTRAS. THEY BENT OVER BACKWARD AND WERE HAPPY ABOUT IT. IN MY 18 YEARS AS A VERIZON CUSTOMER I NEVER RECEIVED HONESTY SERVICE AND A SMOOTH TRANSCATION THAT IN THE LONG TERM WILL SAVE ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS SO PIERO AND STAFF MY HATS OFF TO YOU. HAPPY CUSTOMERS EDDIE AN MARY C.
I purchased a phone for 980.00 and the phone went bad and I had full insurance and they replace the phone with out same capability my phone had wireless charging the phone they gave me don't have wireless charging so I had the Phone for 5 minutes when I told them they told me that they would only give credit for 100.00 towards the right phone and if I don't like it we will give you 60.00 and take a walk and that came from a top supervision person. As soon as I can I will get rid of T-MOBILE.
I purchased a phone from T-mobile 27 days ago. I need the phone for work. The phone doesn't work in my office building. I was told 3 days after buying to please be patient, they're working on upgrades to the towers. I called again, I was told to please be patient, there is a ticket in for a tech to go and see what the problem is in that area, because the coverage map is reflecting that there should be service there. I called again to follow up, and was again asked to be patient and assured of resolution.
On my final call, I was told 'hey, sorry we can't fix it. Even though you can't use your phone at work, we can still see that you have been able to get good usage of the phone away from work. We're not giving you the $700 that you paid for the phone back, because you're beyond the 14 day buyers remorse period...'
Funny how they assured me that they would fix it, pleaded with me to be patient, never mentioned the buyers remorse period... until after they'd dragged out the tech trouble shooting issue beyond the refund period.
Then then told me that they really didn't care about my calls beginning within day 3 of activation, and their please for patience, and assurance that they'd fix the problem.
They were simply satisfied that they'd dragged me along for long enough that I was beyond their 14 day refund period.
The resolution that they offered me... was to sell my phone on Craigslist to try to recoup some of the funds.
I immediately drove to Verizon. They now have unlimited data.
They basically bought the T-mobile phone, and gave me another Samsung s7 edge.
$5 more per month is worth it for good customer service and a phone that works for the purpose that I bought it for... I can use my Verizon phone at work!
My family and I tried their service last Dec. 14 but it just didn't work out for us so we decided to discontinue the service and return the devices. We were in the 14 day window wherein you can return devices and discontinue service and have all your money refunded except for the prorated days where you used the service. Today is Feb. 15 I have been calling their customer service since Dec and up to now I haven't received my refund of more or less $1000. I am more than pissed and fuming mad because I have more important things to do than dialing the phone and talking to customer reps and being handed from one dept to the next without getting a definite response. It sucks! From the last call, they can't even tell me a definite date when will I get my refund. I am moving to legal actions 'cause 2 months wait time is very unreasonable. According to the last call, they're all backed up and all that. Hey, why do you keep on inviting customers to use your service if you can't even work with pace of addressing customer issues. So disappointed. Im so glad that as much as they record the phone conversations, I did record too at my end for moments like this. I knew it!
Answer: Take the cheapest, clunkiest, most useless data coverage you can imagine. Now imagine it not even working. You pay for something that is USELESS.
Answer: This is typical of t-mobile. It will not let me leave a review.
Answer: T-Mobile will let you keep your old number... IF IT IS AVAILABLE. I do not know the requirements or rules, but years ago, I was allowed to keep a number I had had for years past.
Answer: See, your other customers see the same thing. In plain words, you suck ass.
Answer: Better Business Bureau is the only way to force an american to talk to you
