Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

Good good good, Phone as described,
(no missed appointments or scams like craigslist) i prefer the trusted sellers!
Highly recommended!
The support staff of Swappa are always there to help. The site is very easy to navigate and find the phone you are looking for, too.
I have purchased several devices via Swappa, and have had excellent experiences! I had to request assistance from Swappa staff on one occasion, when a seller failed to include an advertised component, and they quickly intervened with the seller, and my issue was resolved in a satisfactory manner. I appreciate the added assurances I receive when purchasing devices through Swappa. I've recommended Swappa to friends and family without hesitation!
Overall the process was positive. I only wish there was an option to choose a faster delivery instead of regular USPS speed. The product described by the seller was exactly what was delivered. An overall good iphone 5S in very nice condition. I would definitely use this service again when shopping for a slightly used phone instead of blowing my wad on a new device.
I purchased an iPhone 5S 16GB unlocked thinking it would work on Verizon. Apparently I hadn't done enough information digging but found out to late that the 5S wasn't GSM and CDMA. Yes my fault for not knowing but their are a lot of models and the models are the same number whether they are GSM or CDMA. So, it is quite confusing. The only way to know if the 5S was GSM was to click on the Specs button. But not all phone models show this info. IPhone 6 specs on their site don't show GSM or CDMA. Again my research says they work on both. I dug more just to make sure and again I was wrong. IPhone 6 GSM won't work on anything but GSM. But then everyone else sells them GSM and CDMA. The model in Europe is even slightly better. Anyway, my point is this information should be more visible. Maybe even help educate the buyer more. I'm hesitant to purchase anything unlocked again.
If you're going to require a signature for a guaranteed transaction, don't allow use of FedEx, who doesn't allow a signature on the door for delivery, like UPS or USPS do.
Easy to find what I am looking for, sellers contact me fast and send phone fast.
Super smooth.
After searching a bunch of sites, Swappa was the best. Gazelle had phones, but they would go quickly. Swappa is nice because it lists the inventory. The seller and confirmation process was top notch and I received the phones in the condition as expected for a used phone.
The first phone I purchased was not available. The refund came quickly and I was able to purchase the phone I wanted.
I am very happy with the entire deal.
Just like cars, phones depreciate the second you turn them on. Never take that hit ever again. Buying gently used phones is the only way to go and this site does all the work ensuring phones are not stolen or duds.
I have purchased a few devices on Swappa and sold one and every time has been a pleasant experience. People are courteous, Paypal is used to assure a safe transaction, and the staff is there to help and make sure everything runs smoothly. It's simple too.
Had a great experience buying an iphone 6s on Swappa. Because Swappa has good regulations regarding quality of phones being sold, I was able to buy this phone without worrying if it was locked, usuable, etc. The seller I worked with was great, and we also received several cases for the iphone that were a good bonus. Would definitely use Swappa again for a used phone purchase!
My first experience with Swappa was a great one! Seller was responsive to questions, shipped the device quickly and at a great price. I highly recommend this site if you're looking to buy or sell a used device.
Got a great deal with no sketchy feelings! Everything happened without a hitch and Swappa's presence in the transaction felt like making a deal in person with a big strong trustworthy friend next to you.
The site is very user friendly, informative, accurate for looking what you want. Easy to transact and interactive while the transaction is in progress.
We've used Swappa twice now: once for a phone and once for a tablet. It was very easy to search the site to find what I was looking for and then decide between the available devices. Shipping was fast both times and we are pleased overall. I plan to purchase all future devices from Swappa.
Have purchased three phones through swappa now and all three transactions have gone perfectly. Highly recommended!
Swappa is an excellent site all around. They do the big things and the little things very well. From making sure the phones are legit to helping you all along the way it is a joy to use the site. I will continue coming back here as often as I need/want a new phone, tablet or chrome book.

Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
