I hadn't heard about Swappa before but I had a painless experience buying a new iPhone. The price history was great, and I had no stress around making a large purchase (which is why I don't use EBay or Craigslist). I HIGHLY recommend it!
I have used Swappa several times both as a buyer and seller. It is an excellent place to do business. Their protections work well and their fees are more than fair.
I've bought 5 phones on Swappa with none of the hassles typical with Ebay. The phones are exactly as described, priced fairly and sold by decent people. Swappa does a good job making sure the phones are clean and match their descriptions. I'll never buy used tech anywhere else.
I have made 4 purchases on SWAPPA now and every one went superb. No more am I a victim to unscrupulous used electronics dealers! SWAPPA takes the guesswork out of buying used cell phones.
We have now purchased two iPhones from swappa.com. Both transactions went off without a hitch. Phones were activated without issue. We were extremely pleased with the value & excellent conditions of the phones we purchased. We highly recommend this website as a way to upgrade your equipment!
My daughter recently broke her phone. We aren't ready to upgrade yet, so I turned to a recommendation I had seen online for Swappa. Prices are in a pretty good range. Sorted by manufacturer, making it really easy to find what you are looking for. Shipping was fast and the phone is working great!
Unprofessional and very bad experience with buying from swappa. Sold the item and very bad condition and listed as mint and didn't taken return and suspended my account for rating seller one star. Pathetic..
My experience was phenomenal. The seller was quick and responsive. I really like the Persian communication along the way until the sale completed.
Looking for a basically new IPhone and was able to purchase new one still inbox for a reasonable price. Did way better than I was able to do on close.
Phone came on time and in really good condition for being slightly used. Very satisfied.
I saw the reviews and bought a "mint" iphone 6 on Swappa. Once I received the phone, I had a lot of trouble connecting it to WI-FI. After a long trail of problem determination, I took it to the Apple store and they determined that the glass had been broken, repaired by a third party w/third party parts, and damaged the antenna. So much for "mint". I returned the phone and after much pain I received my Paypal refund which took extraordinary effort to deal with them and SWAPPA. You know what, I bought a new Iphone 6S which was a snap. If someone tries to sell you a phone, make sure it was never repaired by anyone other than the manufacturer. Probably better if it was never repaired.
Easy transactions. Great guides to buying, selling, checking out purchases. Seems more reliable than ebay, et al.
I somehow stumbled upon swappa on the Internet as I used to take my chances buying on eBay which is quite a scary prospect if anyone has ever done it they know. I've purchased five phones on Swappa and each time I have had a great experience. I have convinced 2 of my friends to purchase thru Swappa and both are quite happy. Ever since the big phone companies stopped subsidizing cell phones being able to use a service like Swappa is like a loophole around the big cell phone companies. The consumer now has a choice. A good choice too because swappa ensures that the phones that are listed are able to be activated and are in the condition that they say they are and are fully functional. Photos of the actual phones are clear. Customer service is top notch. One instance a seller was late in shipping out one of my purchases and I sent an email to swappa and received a response the same day and had the phone within a day or two. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone to look to swappa first when the need for a new phone arises. Having 2 teenagers I know I wont look anywhere else. Now Swappa just recently raised the fee buyers pay to $20 from $10. I am excepting this increase based on the fact that they are now carrying more than just cell phones on the site which means more work for them in verifying the listings to continue to provide a superior service but please Swappa, dont grow too big or sell out to Microsoft or Amazon because it wont bevthe same, At least not until my 2 teenagers are on their own buying their own phones when they either lose or break them. Thank you for providing consumers a great alternative to get around the high cost and long contracts the phone companies are beating us up with.
I have purchased two phones from Swappa and I must admit they are very thorough and professional. The selection is outstanding and the buyer is protected.
All of my purchases and sales have been flawless! The fact that Swappa does all the background investigation for us, makes using Swappa a "no brainer"! I can't imagine using any other site for buying 2nd hand phones, even though everything I've purchased was practically new looking.
I've only ever bought tablets refurbished from Apple so this was my first used purchase. I was a little nervous but my friend uses Swappa and has great experiences. The item I bought is only 5 months old and still has 7 months of AppleCare left. I saved $150 over buying a new tablet. It's immaculate! I couldn't be happier!
I have purchased 2 phones off of Swappa and both of them were as described by the seller. I would definitely recommend Swappa to my friends.
Two purchases so far for gently used Apple products. Both purchases went flawlessly. Better for buyers and sellers than the competition. Flat sellers fee makes it easy.
Best and first place to buy and sell cell phones. More accurate descriptions from seller than on eBay. As a seller fees are also lower than eBay. Swappa also confirms phone is ready for activation, something that you have to weed through on eBay because eBay allows sale of any phone, even stolen ones.
The selection and types of devices available for purchase is staggering. I selected an iPhone that, I discovered post-purchase, was blacklisted by Apple. Unfortunately, without IMEI info, it is not possible to check the phone's status for this. A network-unlocked device does not insure that it is not blacklisted. There was a steep learning curve involved, but the seller worked with Apple and me and together we were able to solve the problem. The phone's function has been completely restored and is exactly as described by the seller. Next time I use Swappa, I will do additional due-diligence prior to purchase, but this did not discourage me from using them again. You can find just what you are looking for.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
