This is my first time buying with Swappa, The process of buying is very clear defined on each steps, the communication with seller is very easy and sufficient. Very well design website. I like it.
I bought 2 phones through Swappa recently - last year's model iPhone for my wife and an Android phone for myself that is about 4 years old. Swappa has a great platform to exclusively cater to the phone and tablet re-sale market. There are a lot of nice tools for narrowing down on the exact purchase you want to make and the details about the phone specs, model number, and condition are all very clearly identified.
This feels like it takes the best of e-bay (visible seller ratings, multiple small companies and individuals competing on an open market for used goods) and a traditional electronic retailer (organized categories, clear specs, simple and secure payment method, etc).
Everything was very simple and easy to understand. My seller communicated quickly and my transaction was smooth. I would use this site again.
I've purchased three phones on Swappa. Each was potentially a good deal. However, each of the three purchases had problems. The first worked out ok... The phone had a motherboard glitch, but since it was still under warranty, Apple gave us a new phone for it. Our cost? 4 trips to town and to the Genius Bar.
The second phone had a replaced screen, and was still activate on another account, which the seller could not get to... Had to send the phone back and get a refund from Paypal. 4 days hassle, but the seller sent me an extra $30 to compensate. Nice guy.
The third phone never got sent. Apparently the seller got the Paypal payment and walked away, never sending me the phone. So, now requesting a refund again from Paypal.
And there is the weakness of Swappa. There is no cost to the seller if they try to sell a less than usable phone, (or don't send it.) Probably they pay back the money to Paypal, who then reimburses the buyer, but so what? If Swappa would ask for a deposit from the sellers, which would be reimbursed to the seller when a buyer is satisfied, that would reduce the number of botched sales due to faulty items or sellers. If the sale didn't go through Swappa could keep the deposit, and or split it with the disappointed buyer.
Why would anyone choose to pay full price? The seller was easy to communicate with, quick to respond, and honest. Will definitely shop Swappa first the next time I need an electronic device!
It's a short story overall; I broke my Note Edge and needed a new phone quickly at a reasonable price (that I knew wasn't lost or stolen). Swappa checks IMEIs and provides feedback on their sellers, and I received my phone 3 days after payment. My activation was super smooth and the phone is exactly as described. Smooth sailing! The last two times I've needed an upgrade phone, I've gone to Swappa and after comparing other online options I've gone with a Swappa seller. Knowing a third party is involved helps the seller stay above board and weeds out less than desirable sellers. That said, it also comforts the seller knowing they have someone in their corner watching out for them as well. It might cost a little more to do it this way but I'd probably not buy from another source except new which I can't afford. Thanks Swappa

Swappa is an excellent website. Just use your common sense & review seller feedback. Swappa & PayPal have your back 100% if your purchase is not fulfilled by the seller. Forget buying Retail phones with contracts & save yourself allot of money.

Swappa is the only place I buy devices now, they hold both sellers and buyers accountable for all transactions and have a flawless system in place that leaves no room for surprise. Everything I've bought has showed up exactly as described.

I was initially hesitant to buy a used cell phone, but after doing some research I came across Swappa and purchased a gently used iPhone. The buying experience was very easy, and I felt assured that I would get a quality product or Swappa would have my back in making it right. If you are looking to buy a used phone this is the place to do it! They require all their items being sold to be reviewed and approved by staff before being uploaded. I ordered a used iphone 6 plus on this site and the buyer shipped it right away. It was packaged very securely. When I received the phone it was almost like brand new. There was not a single scratch or mark on the phone! The site also gives you the option of purchasing additional safety coverage on the phone. It is not required though. I loved purchasing from this site and will definitely recommend it to anyone I know looking for a used phone!

Couldn't be Happier! The seller of the iPhone was terrific. Great communication, fast shipping, 60 day warranty, the phone is Perfect! I was leary to purchase a pre-owned phone, but I am glad I took a chance and bought this. Will come back again to SWAPPA when the need arises!
I got one of the two things I bought. The second one they went to bat for me one time and after nothing happened the told me to take it up with PayPal. Not very happy about that!
