I found a great deal for an 64GB iPhone 6s in really good condition on Swappa. As with any internet reselling market, do be cautious. That being said, the excellent thing about Swappa is that sellers are required to be super clear about what they're selling. They have to post all kinds of pictures and pretty much answer any (reasonable) question you ask about the device. I was lucky enough to find my phone at a really good price and deal with a clear, communicative and professional seller. I don't know if they're all like that but you can always check reviews for specific sellers if you're wary. A lot of them has 4.5/5 stars profiles. It's a great place to find slightly used phones in top condition on the whole.
Everything about this transaction was super simple. I would definitely recommend swappa to friends. The phone was delivered in a timely manner along with the sim card, charger and protective Otter cover. I am very satisfied.
I've been on swappa.com for about a month. I have sold 3 items (phones/tablets) and purchased one(tablet). It's been a good experience overall. Most of the people on the site are good natured and ready to conduct business. There are many people "newbies" on this site selling items for the first time (like me) - therefore they have no ratings which makes it difficult to know who to trust. So far, this hasn't been a problem for me - or for those purchasing from me (I had no rating until I sold my first item).
One nice feature is that you can link your swappa.com account to your eBay account and Swappa will post your eBay rating. This gives you some additional information as to the worthiness of the sellers, but this is an easy system to game.
One of the selling points about Swappa is that there are no Seller's fees - the "buyer pays" Swappa's fee. Depending on how you look at this, it is and is not true. Swappa's fees are built into the seller's price. The seller doesn't get all the money the buyer pays. Still, the analysis shows that Swappa's fees are less than some you'd pay elsewhere (about $5 for every $100 of the sales price). Swappa uses PayPal to complete the sale - so the seller has to pay PayPal fees as well (same as anywhere, eBay, etc).
There is a sufficient marketplace of buyers and sellers - even for some obscure items. One Tablet I sold was not very well-known. There were only 2 up for sale and only one other sale for this item - ever. But I was able to find a buyer after waiting about 3 weeks.
Swappa allows for communication between Buyer and Seller even before the sale in the form of posts that all can see. After the purchase, the buyer and seller have a private area to post/communicate to discuss items such as the shipping details (for example: should I put signature required on the shipping?) and for any problems or questions related to the product sold or the transaction. Swappa staff is also available to intervene or answer questions.
All in all, it's a decent site for buying and selling electronics. I appreciate having an option other than eBay or places like Gazelle. I plan to continue to use Swappa to buy sell my mobile tech.
I was searching the internet for the best and cheapest place to get a use phone. I looked at Amazon, Ebay, and a couple other used phone websites. I have bought a phone on Amazon and Ebay before. This time I used Swappa, and the experience has turned out to be the easiest, cheapest, and safest.
I honestly love Swappa. I haven't sold anything through it, but I have bought two phones. The only issue I have is that there is no option to directly message a seller. I had a phone I was interested in, but someone bought it before I could. The seller had another phone of the same make and model - they said they would post it later. The comments for people other than the seller and buyer were then turned off for that phone. There was no way for me to message the seller and say that I was interested in the other phone. Luckily the seller had another active sale that I could comment on at the time. It would have been much easier to just message the seller directly.
I was unsure about buying a phone from a site. Is it going to work, be what they said it is ect. Found that this site is really good about wedding out those type of sellers, got exactly what I ordered. Very happy.
No problems with my sale, great product, will definitely use this site again. Search functionality is well organized and easy to use.
Great website that offers wide range of used devices with no flaws and great service. Payment is simple and easy, and the shipping is also very fast. Great prices on new phones and great variety of devices.
I have purchased three phones from this site and each time the experience is excellent! The products are always as described, the sellers are responsive and quick to ship. The website is easy to navigate. I love that they include the shipping costs and taxes in the advertised price!
Swappa is a controlled site for the sale and buying of cell phones, tablets, and chromebooks. Most items are used and are for sale by the original owner who may be upgrading. Prices are great and you are guaranteed that the transaction is as you expected. I have both sold and purchased multiple phones on this site and I would recommend it without hesitation.
Not only did I find the phone I wanted/needed at a very fair price, the item came quickly and as described.
In addition, I was able to sell my current phone very easily through the site, at a fair price and easy transaction.
Can't say enough good about the whole experience! Beats all the other sites/methods of selling or buying phones!
Thank you Swappa!
Have sold over 5 phones on swappa and never had an issue. Great community and staff. The experience selling here is much better then ebay and there are no seller fees.
We have ordered two phones from Swappa on the recommendation of a friend, both have arrived as advertised and quickly. We are never paying the outrageous cell phone company prices again!
I used this site for the first time. I doubted but risked. I got to buy the right thing and also save money. Thank you!
Awesome interface. Great users. Easy purchase. Quick delivery. And, a good product. Love the warranty offered as well!
I've been buying and selling on swappa for years and I haven't been disappointed yet. Everyone at swappa have always been a great help.
You DO not want to sell on Swappa. I sold on it for close to 3 months and had 10x more scammer's than I did on eBay for 5 years. The Swappa staff does not care at all about seller's PERIOD. Now if your buying a phone it is a great place to buy one because read my previous sentence. If you notice you will most likely not run into any seller that has more than 100 feedback and that is because they give up and stop selling on Swappa.
Swappa is a great place two bye phones. I have purchased three phones on Swappa and have gotten great deals on all three. Highly recommend swappa for anyone looking to purchase a phone.
When I am buying a phone these days, I only look at Swappa. Most of the phones I've bought have been as good, or better, than advertised. I received a no-hassle refund for the one that wasn't as good as advertised. All phones were shipped quickly and priced lower than most other websites. I highly recommend Swappa to anyone looking to buy a cell phone.
Found a great phone at a great price without having to worry like i would if i bought from ebay or craigslist.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
