After three months this company finally decided to send me my money back for an item I received broken, and sent back the next day.
They provided the shipping label, which was also the cheapest and slowest shipping method available. They responded to my emails in very short rude manner. They were also accusing me of not returning their broken phone in which they tried to sell me. They didn't want to refund me my $200, but they were so quick to take it and giving me a broken item.
When I finally got my attorney involved, and we threatened to take them to claims court, swappa stepped in and told We Buy Mobile that they were to refund me immediately. They only refunded me, to save their asses. Every other encounter with them, was abrupt, rude, and treating myself the customer, as something below them.
I personally, will never recommend or use this company again.
We buy mobile is the most disgusting, fraud of a business I have ever dealt with. That is who I purchased the broken item through swappa. Waiting 3 months to get $200 back that they basically stole from me, was not worth my time, all the emails, all the calls, and all the financial stress I had to go through.
Nothing good to say about this company. I have every email and message to prove it.
If you don't have money to spare, or time to lose, don't even waste your time. It is not worth it. They left me financially crippled, and without a phone.

I had purchased another phone from another online entity that starts with an E and the phone's ESN # was dirty or bad I could not register the phone on my network I bought a phone on Swappa and the phone's ESN # was clean I could register it, and the phone was very clean and in perfect condition and I'm very happy with my purchase, the price, the condition, the shipping/ packaging... everything. Thanks to Swappa and the seller.

SWAPPA SAFE: The folks at this website basically verify that the phones & devices listed are ACTUALLY what the listing states it is. Hmmm... sounds simple enough. In this internet world today - I LIKE SIMPLE

I purchased a phone via Swappa last year and just recently found out the phone was not paid off.

Beware when purchasing on Swappa, their IMEI check/approval process does not guarantee the phone is paid off. Buy on Swappa at your own risk.

Here is their response:
"Unfortunately the status of ESN/IMEI change over time. While we do provide best effort to prevent these kind of issue we can only act on the information available at the time of approval. This delay in release of information is an issue with how the cellular carriers release this information. We would ask that you share your dismay with them over their disclosure practices."

Pretty much a nice way to tell me to f*** off. I will not purchase phones on Swappa again.

Hi, I have bought and sold phones through Swappa before. Just as with previous experiences, the latest purchase was perfect in every respect. Friendly, straightforward, honest communication with seller. The process through Swappa was easy to negotiate. I feel that Swappa provides me with an easy to use and safe method to purchase and sell smart phones. I recommend Swappa to anyone that is interested in an honest and efficient business transaction. Thanks to everyone involved!

Swappa has a great review process that is well supported for the first time user with video and written instructions. It is quite intuitive and works very well. The rating process of the phones with established criteria is really helpful. Knowing that someone is looking over your shoulder and accompanying you is also reassuring.

Communication with would be buyers and sellers worked very well. And PayPal added the necessary financial security for the transactions to be secure. I have now bought a phone (I am very happy with) and sold my old phone in four days and it worked very well both times. I liked especially well that once you set a price you can modify it in response to buyers practically instantly.

I will use it again and recommend the site for selling for buying your smartphone.

I got a follow-up from Swappa after posting this review:
Another employee apologized and said whoever handled my transaction messed up.

Esssentially I had to file a complaint through PayPal - this finally got the seller to respond. He offered I keep the broken phone and refund half my money.

I used the funds towards getting a refurb at the local Apple Store for $329 plus tax and then sold it for a bit more so it wasn't a total loss. In the end I got to use the phone for a few weeks plus some aggravation for a cost of $180.

I've had about 6 other good transactions on Swappa so other than this experience it's been solid.

I've been using eBay, CL (god forbid) and other online marketplaces to find a new iPhone. I saw a great deal for a new iPhone 7 ($535 inc. shipping). I was a little skeptical but I had buyer protection. The buying experience is quick and straightforward. My experience is very positive (YMMV). I had an honest, responsive seller. There are scammers but every online marketplace has them. Use your best judgement!
