Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Additionally, complaints about payment processing and discrepancies in product conditions highlight a need for improved communication and accountability. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

I was able to compare trends in prices, read reviews on the various sellers, and then purchase a used phone in EXCELLENT condition. I love the high standards sellers must meet in order to list devices. I was VERY happy with my experience. I would buy another device from here again!
After carefully reading the description and swappa's policies I decided to purchase a phone. When the phone arrived it was not in the condition as described. Swappa's customer service told me I had to take it up with the seller. Seller assumes no responsibility and explained they had a no return policy. Unfortunately, did not pay with PayPal and now have no recourse. Buyers beware, swappa's customer service is little help if something does go wrong.
Swappa experience was ok, received phone in good order and promptly (Galaxy S6 Active). Bought phone in "New (resale)" condition in June, phone quit working in October. Now have to buy another...
I bought 2 phone's via swappa and the only thing they did was send the seller my email I had sent them. It was PayPal that actually got my money back. I understand 1 phone but 2 come on. I'll never use Swappa again and buyer beware. How do they really check that these device's are decent... worst experience ever... but if your needing to dump a crappie device this is an excellent site.
I love this website, I buy most of my cell phones here. The prices are always so much better than buying brand new from the carrier, and I've never had any problems with the phone being different from advertised. Sellers are usually very good at responding to questions and shipping in a timely manner. I've never dealt with their customer service since I've never had any issues.
When PayPal charged my credit card twice and the seller was insistent that he hadn't received ANY payment@ all, I tried to get some help from Swappa customer service. They were very dismissive... kinda like "sorry about your luck, not our problem, good luck with PayPal." So although the phone I bought is excellent and was a great deal $$-wise, I doubt that I'll use the site again
After a little research, I was able to identify my best option for phone replacement at a reasonable rate. The phone arrived within days in perfect condition, unlocked, and ready to use on my Straight-Talk account with the 99-cent purchase of a sim card. I would definitely recommend Swappa to friends. Thank you. BK
One of my brothers suggested this site as I was looking for a used phone for my son. The prices were great, but they only took PayPal. My issue was I had not used PayPal since I live at my previous residence. After a couple frustrating PayPal modifications and the help of the seller and the Swappa team, I was able to complete the transaction.
I will definitely use Swappa again.
This is the sixth phone I have purchased using Swappa and all of the transactions have been great experiences. Buyer beware, obviously, but if you are reasonable and willing to do your homework, Swappa can be a great way to upgrade or replace your device for less.
Terrific phone, quick response, accurate and trouble free in all areas. 2nd time user.
Highly Rec; A+ both site and seller!
Got a nearly new Moto g5 plus for less than $200. I would recommend this site to anyone. I'll be back for future purchases.
I have sold a number of items on Swappa and purchased three phones there. Each experience has been positive and smooth. Swappa Help, if needed, is super quick and attentive. I've purchased from private and trusted sellers and had good results both ways. With each transaction, I've shopped my options and ended up back at Swappa. Great site!
Fourth time using Swappa and it goes over smoothly every time. Perfect website for getting a phone at a discount price.
I happen to stumble over to the Swappa site while looking to buy unlocked gently used iPhone. I not only bought a phone but also sold one that became surplus after purchasing from Swappa. Both buying and selling experience was pleasant and trouble free.
I really enjoyed researching and then purchasing my phone using swappa.
I found watching my subscriptions to be a little hassle-ish. But other than that I like swappa.
When I decided to get a new(ish) smartwatch, Swappa was my first stop. After buying a tablet through the site a month prior, I was very pleased with the whole experience. Will likely buy again, when the opportunity arises.
Four out of five phones I have bought on swappa over the last three years were delivered with no problems. One phone when trying to connect to my carrier said the phone was coming up stolen. Contacted swappa and within a few days had a full refund. Will continue to buy phones on this site. Just make sure you check the reviews of the individuals that are selling phones.
Looks good sounds good. But they do not stand by there policy. No esn check that just deters fraud as they told me. So I bought an s8 plus for 600$ sent money then seller says I used postage stamps to mail phone.? Finally after hours of asking for tracking or receipt and run around answers with swappa's unless help they canceled the sale. Boom now all my info is whipped no prof of anything then they say sorry nothing we can do but you can dispute thru paypal...? Wtf that's it? Mecari has support ebay has support amazon has support... swappa nothing just oh well. So what now. Yikes
I had zero problems with my phone. I'd be willing to use Swappa again, but I see from other reviews they need help with their customer service.
The item I bought was shipped to the wrong address which was only due to their website being very unclear about which address it was going to be sent to. The shipping address you provide will be completely ignored so you might as well leave it blank. They said "the most we can do is recommend you contact the shipping agency to get it fixed." They didn't offer me any type of solution and refuse to give me a refund on this item that I never received. Swappa, nor the seller, are owing up to the issues and responds to my inquiries unapologetically, also blatantly giving false information, overall a very disappointing experience. My first and last time using this website.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
