Needed a new phone fast. Found exactly what I wanted on in about 5 seconds on Swappa. The seller was professional and prompt. İt took about 6 days from payment to having the phone in my hand. Would have been about 3 days sooner if it weren't for Christmas and a weekend. I've used Swappa three times and have been very impressed with their quality control, buyer-seller interface and the whole sale process. I saved $100 on the new Google pixel 2 and got it on perfect condition. 10/10 for Swappa. Thanks!

I bought an iPhone that turned out to not be eligible for the network advertised for. Swappa suggested a return. Note here that their service is to ensure IMEIs are "clean" and the phones you buy are not blacklisted. They suggested a return to which the seller agreed. I followed their instructions and sent back the item (paying for shipping). At this point Swappa refunded the $15 via Paypal, suggested I open a dispute on Paypal and went silent. You will then have to deal with Paypal and the seller on your own to get your payment back. In the end, this is much like craigslist than ebay.

The site is easy to navigate and the features make it simple to communicate with the sellers directly. The full disclosures and policies are prominently displayed, making potential buyers feel confident about the entire process. I'm glad Swappa helps protect the buyer in case something goes wrong, and I didn't feel like anyone was trying to rip me off. It helps when the sellers are stand-up people, too. Here's a review I left after my recent purchase:

"Speedy! Phone was delivered just 3 days after it was shipped. Showed up in solid condition. Phone hadn't been factory reset, but the seller worked with me to get it unlocked from the previous iCloud account. Jason responds to messages quickly, and I'm happy with the sale."

I wanted a working iPhone but did not want to pay hundreds of dollars. I went on Swappa and found a wide variety of sellers of used iPhones in great shape. I opted for an iPhone 5S (debuted in late 2013), and could easily find sellers and their recent reviews and offerings. Swappa charges a minimal fee for their services ($5.00) and provides important information such as the serial number of the phone and photos of the phone. The seller was prompt and my phone arrived quickly and was working in good order. I highly recommend Swappa for great service and information. Thank you.

My husband bought a laptop computer through your company for me in good faith. The seller did not provide the item as described in anyway conceivable and packaged it so poorly it came damaged. You did not even stand behind your own policies - your policies! You just turned your head and said let PayPal take over. How is anyone going to trust you. This is forcing me to give you a star but I give you a big zero. No buyer protection at all.

The good thing about Swappa is that at least you can interact with the seller to work out any problems, assuming the seller is legit and not trying to scam you. The phone I bought showed it did not have a clean IMEI for financial reasons. The seller was able to call Sprint and get it cleared so I kept the phone. I had the same thing happen with a phone from Glyde but since there is no way to contact the seller I had to return the phone at MY cost! Swappa staff didn't have do do much but did initially prod the seller to respond within a few minutes of my reporting a problem, which was nice. I don't think Swappa should allow sales when their own IMEI checker shows it doesn't pass financial check.
