Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Additionally, complaints about payment processing and discrepancies in product conditions highlight a need for improved communication and accountability. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

If you're looking for a smartphone and don't mind buying a used phone for a fraction of what you'd pay new, Swappa is the best option I've found. They make sure the phones have a clean IMEI and are in usable condition. I've used Swappa to buy seven phones for my family over the past four years and have been more than satisfied.
Swappa is a great site with trusted sellers if your in the market for a new or slightly used device this is a great site to find just that with direct contact with the sellers you can haggle and ask any questions you have before you decide. It comes highly recommended by me for whatever that's worth.
Like all sites or stores, they are only a place for sellers to congregate and sell. So really its only as good as the sellers using it, and of course, the crooked sellers will take up residence. Anywhere you spend your money its a crap shoot. No site or store can weed them out completely. My experience with my seller so far has been great. So I had no opportunity to deal with the resolution team at Swappa. That's what both sites and stores should be judged on. Which I do. No matter how hard someone tries, you can't legislate morals.
In my 4+ years of using Swappa to buy and sell, I've never had one problem with any of my transactions. Much easier and safer than EBay and more consistent about your payment going through or getting paid. I will use Swappa again!
Was skeptical using this site due to a bad experience with another site, after doing some research i took the chance, and quiet frankly am shocked at how the product i received came it was like a brand new device, yes it may of been a use device but it seems to be well kept, i will keep a further update but so far am impressed.
Thank you Swappa keep up the good work
After my daughter dropped her IPhone 7, and insurance wanted $300 bucks to fix the phone, i heard of Swappa through a friend, bought a used IPhone 7, errm should say newused because the condition was just like new, even though it was called (good) paid $200... i have now bought all my phones off Swappa, when i get bored of my phone, I sell it on Swappa and buy a new one. Have saved 100s of dollars.
No words! Fantastic experience with Swappa. I have bought 4 phones on here. I definitely recommend doing business via Swappa.
Have bought and sold three phones on here - feel secure buying and selling with their IMEI check, simple fee structure, and policies that ensure you are know what you are buying! Way better than eBay with the same PayPal purchase protections. Allows me to upgrade more often for less cash and no contracts.
I don't know what they charge a service fee for. They never can help a buyer and always send you to resolve your problem with PayPal. Very bad customer service. And if you complain too much they threaten you to block from the side. Do not use this site as a buyer.
Buyers beware there are some companies on swappa that are selling products that they don't actually have, all the while having a photos of a phone you think you are going to buy. They take your money from the purchase and have you wait weeks till they can get the actual phone. Swappa does nothing about this selling practice and has no support for the buyer except giving you a sorry for the inconvenience. I won't do business on swappa ever again and definitely won't recommend that anyone do so.
This was my second time buying a used phone in mint condition on Swappa. Both times I chose individuals selling their barely used phones for personal reasons rather than resellers who wouldn't know the history of the phone. Both times the phones were nearly new, and although an unscrupulous seller could have exaggerated things, these individuals were honest. I got great phones at good prices, and a pleasant interaction as well.
When it comes to guarantees, Paypal is the weak point. Unlike a credit card company that will strongly back the customer in a legitimate dispute, Paypal is likely to play games and hang onto your money (found this out with a fraudulent seller on eBay.). So I'm sorry to hear of the people with bad experiences, but I'll keep going with Swappa.
I was really skeptical about buying a used phone online. I did some research and ascertained that swappa is generally a safer place to buy then eBay or God forbid Craigslist. I made sure to go with a seller who was responsive and had already had reviews. Got a great deal on a good phone I was really got to call about buying a used phone online I did some research and ascertain that swapping is generally a safer place to buy them eBay or God forbid Craigslist I made sure to go with a seller who was responsive and had already had good reviews. Got a great deal on a good phone, and am almost 100% that this is the way I'll buy phones in the future.
Good supplier a few months ago I decided to buy swappa an iphone and everything came in handy and from there I give very good credit to that company everything is well described and arrives as the writing says just read well. Something is happening to me with AT AND T that I provide the codes buy one and it does not work and then I went back to buy another one I did not send it from in the morning that happens because I did not read the policy of that company. Good Work Swappa
Thank you this has been my first experience ordering from Swappa.com. Just purchased a Galaxy s7 and it was very simple and an overall great experience.
I decided to use Swappa to buy a cell phone after researching how to avoid getting ripped off. I followed the advice of experts posting on howardforums.com. They said that they had good results buying from Swappa because Swappa requires information from the sellers that other sites do not provide or check.
My daughter destroyed her hand-me-down Note 5 so i stumbled onto this site and found several options to replace it. I ended up purchasing a "like-new" Note 5 identical to the one she lost. The seller was very nice and communicated with me; even sending my package priority mail instead of standard. Got the device and it works like a charm.
From my research about Swappa, before I chose to make my purchase, a lot of the problems were with Apple products. Most know with all the security and things that have to be done to an IPhone and its counterparts, buying them used or at unbelievable discounts is usually too good to be true. Hence why i just bought another Android device. If i want an Apple device, I buy from Apple...
Other than that, be an informed buyer and your experience should be a good one!
First phone I ordered from an individual. It had been switched to a prepaid phone and wouldn't switch back to Sprint so I returned it. However, since it worked (albeit not on Sprint network which it was advertised as working on) I had to pay return shipping and the cost of original shipping was deducted from my refund. Second time I ordered from a company, the phone was the wrong model, I called and they promptly sent a new one and emailed me a prepaid postage label to return the phone. Phone #3 works perfectly.
I've had a great experience using swappa. The moderators were great help. I had some issues during my sale, but they were very helpful and quick to respond. I will use this site again.
Been buying from this site since 2011 and so far i dont have any issues with my purchase. Description of the item are upfront and seller are always available to answer your questions and so with the staff. Totally legit Cant ask for more. Thank you swappa
Before I found this site I almost pulled the trigger on some private sales but kept thinking I dont know everything to look for to keep from getting ripped off." Thank goodness swappa does. They earn their cut verifying listings and putting buyers minds at ease. I almost made a sure mistake buying new from my carrier. As if monthly installments on full retail arent enough, sales tax and an upgrade fee to boot? I dont think Ill ever consider that route again now that I know swappa. They arent paying me for saying this- Im just paying them back for being awesome.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
