I have attempted to sell 3 items on Swappa. All very top end phones and tablets. The staff is rude when posting mint condition items. Furthermore nothing sells on this site, even when undercutting competition with below market value on mint condition phones, people still message you to get it cheaper. I'm not in the business of bartering with teenagers who can't afford the products. Save your time and go to eBay!
Great place to go for gently used phones. I have bought and sold a few phones now on Swappa, and every transaction has been smooth and satisfying.
Great to hear! Thanks for using Swappa
Ever since hearing about swappa I wanted to test it out. I've bought and sold phones on here with no hassles. There fees are a lot cheaper than eBay and straight forward. Their verification process to verify listings is secure and simple too.
Thanks for sharing your positive experience!
Compared to other sites I used, Swappa is more reliable. The sellers are more responsible and easier to communicate. I bought a couple of phones there so far without any major issue.
However the phones I bought are normally mid to lower range. I always feel there is high risk buying expensive phones from any third party sites.
Hi Jimmy, thanks for the great review and for using Swappa :)
Swappa is perfect for me. I've used them to purchase 15+ devices in the last 4 months. Listing was accurate and I received the device promptly and damage-free. I would highly recommend SWAPPA! Thanks!
Thanks for using Swappa!
Terrible customer service. One customer service called Travis can hold you hostage and it gets way personal. They always tell you go get your money back from paypal. Many frauds sellers. They refused to return my service fees. I had to go thru paypal and BBB to get it back.
This user was banned from our service for not following our marketplace policies. We are proud to protect other buyers and sellers from users that would take such actions. Thus we'll take this rare, completely unjustified 1-star review with pride.
Looked around for a while to upgrade my phone. Found the best deal for the best phone on Swappa. Got a Samsung S7 Edge in excellent condition for $239.
I bought an LG V20 from Swappa. The LG V20 was delivered in protective packaging. Not only that, the V20 has no signs of scratches on the screen. Only damage it had was several very small scuffs on the top right and top left corner. I'm very happy I made this purchase. :) 10/10
I started to sell on Swappa a while back they claimed that my email address was fraudulent which is a total and outright blatant lie I set up that email address specifically to sell on Swappa I never even used it prior to Swappa their staff is very Rude and Obnoxious definitely not a good buissnes to deal with! CUSTOMER BEWARE!
Swappa iis a very credible site where recent technology can be purchased with high confidence in the product's condition. This is my second purchase and I am very satisfied with both.
Hands down best site when searching for or selling used phones. I've sold and bought around 10 devices. While there might be issues with the buyer/seller, Swappa is a great marketplace/platform to make it happen. They are also very quick to respond when you request assistance.
I sold an iPhone 6s Plus on this website. The buyer wanted to return it stating the phone was not in mint condition which it was prior to being shipped with USPS. Swappa had approved my photos of the actual device that were in my listing that stated mint condition (basically agreeing it was mint or listing would've been revised by a staff member) A dent occurred in transit with USPS no longer making the phone in mint condition. Swappa staff member was rude to me stating I listed a phone as mint condition that showed signs of "use" treating me like an incompetent idiot. I now have to be out of money it cost to ship the buyer the phone because swappa doesn't know how to hire people with good customer service skills which neither the seller or buyer was at fault at that point. I'm not mad at the buyer I'm disappointed in swappa and will never use their site again.
Bought a refurbished Google Pixel through Swappa. The battery was bad and died within a week. Swappa did not take responsibility... told me to take it up with Paypal... that ain't service.
This is the second phone I bought on Swappa. The process is great and the sellers have been very responsive to questions. I like the trust ingrained in the site via assurances of clean devices.
First impressions are important, and swappa made a great first impression. The site is clean with an easy to use and understand layout. Knowing the products you buy have to meet certain criteria before being eligible for sale was a huge plus. Made 2 purchases, both shipped the next day and both were exactly in the condition listed. I will definitely be using swappa for any electronics purchase in the future.
I attempted to purchase a phone through Swappa's website a couple nights ago, for whatever reason both times I tried their site said the sale was void. However the amount for the phone was pulled from my bank account anyway. When I contacted them, their only response was to deny there was ever a sale and that my "financial institution" would return the funds. So now I'm out $400 and this company has not been any sort of helpful trying to solve the problem.
I've done quite a few transactions over sites like ebay and craigslist before, but when it comes to tech products I appreciate the oversight that Swappa provides: they only allow items that meet certain quality conditions, make sure you see good pictures of the actual item you're buying, and have each listing/transaction monitored directly by a staff member. It instills a lot of confidence when you're buying something that generally has a substantial price-tag. Got an Iphone 6S, item was as described, and felt I could trust their rating system for the seller. Would definitely buy from them again.
Trying to sell an iPad Pro 10.5 cellular on their, and they refused to let me put it under unlocked. All iPad Pro 10.5 models are automatically unlocked for any carrier. They can not come any way. Even with me explaining this to several of their people, they refused to put it there. They forced me to put it in a Verizon area because that is the sim card that Best buy sold it to me with saying it's a Verizon model, when it is not. I flat out told them I would not sell that device with them and will go elsewhere. May not sell anything with them again because of that.
Bought two unlocked phones from two different sellers(one from each) Had no problem connecting to straightalk. Both phones were as described. I'll review again if their's any problems but so far so good.
Got a phone in great condition including original packaging and extras for a great price. Seller was easy to work with. I'd never used Swappa before but they seem legit.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.

Chris, our support team works hard to ensure our users have a positive experience. And you can actually make more $ with Swappa, because our fees are lower than eBay as long as you price your device effectively. We hope you will try Swappa again.
