Kept me updated on product and delivery! Fast shipping and product was still in the box and brand new as advertised.
Although hesitant to buy a used iPhone online, after using Swappa I ended up buying 2 and I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend anyone considering buying "gently used mobile devices" use Swappa.
Everything arrived as listed, in perfect condition, and in a timely manner. Super happy about this purchase and transaction!
My hunt for a brand new sealed iphone SE last month lead me here. Was really surprise to find the options i found there at Swappa!
Dealing was simple. After a few inquiries and request made to the seller, could close the deal. Shipment was pretty fast too.
I have been pleased with all the phones I have gotten here, and to sell on Swappa, was always very smooth transactions and enjoyable, of which my items sold. I am very pleased.
I ordered a phone, which was supposed to be insured (per Swappa & the seller). I never received the phone ($208) and the seller lied several times about the insurance he had not actually purchased. Swappa backed the seller and I am, I suppose, out of luck. I won't shop here again.
My number one go to for all iPads, iPhones, video games etc... selling structure is a very smooth platform. They help super fast if you run into any problems. Been using swappa for years now and will continue to do so.
Real people can sell their stuff for a small fee unlike ebay which got too greedy. In fact I found items on swappa that I COULD NOT find on ebay, because ebay repels real sellers from selling their individual items. Ebay instead is only good for huge business with tiny margins, but not for selling your personal items. Swappa on the other hand is fantastic and I really enjoyed my buying experience. I don't know about selling yet but buying was a wonderful experience.
There are TONS of dishonest sellers on Swappa. The admins there do not give a crap and will try their best to have you keep the phone so that they can keep the sale fees.
They will also fabricate feedbacks for their "trust sellers" if they make a lot of money for their site!
DO NOT BUY FROM SWAPPA!
Richard,
Your review here is simply false.
Our support is knowledgeable, fast, and happy to help. We want to see sales succeed. Our reviews here more than reflect this. If a sale fails, our Swappa fee is refunded.
Reviews on Swappa are not fabricated, no matter if its a trusted seller or not. Every single seller review on Swappa is tied to a genuine sale and buyer.
I am very very happy to sell on Swappa, staff responds my problems right away and buyer are so nice! No matter what problems you may counter, Swappa always is there to help you out and get it going. Thank you for the pleasant site to work with!
Amazing it came in so fast and I didn't even know it they gave me a legit phone for a great price it's perfect and I love my new phone so much I would definitely use these people for getting another very reliable and great quality
Swappa has always been my go-site ever since I discovered it. The selling and buying process has always been reassuring during each transaction. I pay less fees than the competition while also having a higher quality section of devices to purchase from. I always recommend swappa to friends and family who are look to sell their old or used tech, and to purchase well-maintained tech as well.
I wouldn't buy on swappa again. Zero buyer protection. I am currently typing on the iPad from swappa... clunky and extreme lag. Did swappa help? Nope. They're not amazon... so if you want peace of mind. Buy from someone that has real customer service
Swappa is the only site you should ever use for buying/selling cellphones. It has all the pros and no cons. I have been using them for years and never had a bad experience. The staff is very professional.
Swappa is easy to use if you follow their procedures. They need to approve your listing and are always available to offer help and support if needed. All transactions take place in an orderly fashion, helping both seller and buyer.
I was concerned about a sale but swappa stayed on top of it to let me know that they are aware of the situation and would help should I have needed it. The seller ended up refunding my money and I had no problems.
They have the best customer service and I love that I can count on them if I need help. My emails were answered in less than 5 minutes and on their website it was immediately. I got a great deal on a good phone so I'll be a repeat buyer.
Their "imei checker" doesn't tell you whether or not a device is still under contract/financed with a carrier. After spending so much time creating listings, they write and say "sorry you cant list them". WASTE OF TIME they should tell you up front
April,
Our public ESN check tool does not advertise financing checks: https://swappa.com/esn
We do not allow devices that are carrier financed, leased, or tied to an EIP on Swappa.
This is mentioned here: https://swappa.com/faq/general/listing_device_criteria
It is also mentioned on the first screen before listing on Swappa:
Criteria for Sale
- Fully functional, including all buttons, ports, and battery
- Ready to activate. Not reported lost, stolen, or blacklisted
- No cracked glass or water damage
- No outstanding balance or EIP (money owed to carrier)
Once a device is paid off with a carrier, it can then be listed on Swappa.
In my opinion Swappa is the best online reselling and buying website. They have lots of buyer and seller protections and they also clearly lay out the steps and requirements. I've never felt uncomfortable buying or selling from people. Their help staff are also very quick to respond and help. It's very much appreciated.
I think swappa works great if you get a good phone, but if it's defective as mine was be prepared for a huge hassle. After months of trying to get the seller to respond swappa told me that I had to dispute it through PayPal, who at first denied it because the seller responded (after months of not responding to me). After appealing the dispute and dealing with paypal back-and-forth (also not a good experience) I was finally able to get a return address to mail the phone back to get my money back - which I'd been trying to do for months at that point. And even though swappa's policy says that I had to get insurance and ship it back and that the seller will reimburse me, he never did. Huge hassle, lots of time, and out the shipping and insurance money. Ebay has much much better support for their buyers. For swappa, buyer be very beware.
Answer: Hi Neisha. Swappa is quite safe! Please see the 500+ reviews on this site referencing the safe and pleasant buying experience that is Swappa. Please email [email protected] if you have further questions. Thanks for using Swappa!
Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.

Lisa,
I'm sorry about the situation here.
However, reviewing your purchase, it seems your package may have been compromised after delivery to your address as USPS states this was successfully delivered. I'm afraid shipping insurance does not cover theft after delivery nor can we hold a seller responsible for post-delivery mail theft.
If you have not alerted your local police department of this mail theft, I advise doing so.
