Put the watch up and sold in an hour. Payment came in 2 hours and the deal was done! Super easy, quick and secure. Will be back to sell more electronics for sure!
The Swappa platform was easy to use and I found useful tips, and the reps offered quick responses when needed. Overall, I felt very comfortable throughout the buying process (ever since searching for an item).
The sale process was smooth from end to end. And you have the added benefit of PayPal protection.
The item was as advertised and the seller was accommodating to my needs.
Definitely going to use again!
This was my first time purchasing on Swappa. The transaction went very smooth. The device I bought was just as listed, perfect condition. Very happy with the transaction and will recommend to others as well as continue to use the site.
Swappas vendor "sellworld" is amazing. I mean unparalleled responsiveness for a used marketplace vendor. Not to mention i always felt like swappa was ready to step in at a moments notice to handle anything not on the "up and up" with a sale. I am gonna buy a used phone off swappa each yrar from here on out.
What I like about Swappa is that it is focused on specific electronic items, such as the iPhone I just sold. What I don't like is that some of the commenters on listings seem to be just lurkers, not interested in buying. Swappa allowed me to find a buyer very quickly, although I netted about.$140 less selling my one-year old iPhone (similar configuration) than I did last year selling on Amazon. I think that probably the potential buyers are substantially fewer than with other selling sites.
Item was exactly as seller described and arrived shortly after sale. Overall very satisfied with transaction on Swappa.
They check that a phone is clean. Had excellent customer service. And provide a great service. Highly suggest using for buying used electronics
In this era of high-end phones at high-end prices, Swappa works to match buyers and sellers who appreciate getting a great deal on gently used equipment. I have bought and sold devices on Swappa, and have never had a problem in any way. The community is well-meaning and the sellers are honest and honorable. Buying using Swappa should be a definite consideration for anyone wanting to get a high-quality phone for prices that are fair and accurate.
Swappa will continue to be great as long as sellers and buyers respect the norms of the marketplace. I am seeing comments that make me wonder how long it can persist in its current form before descending into the chaos that is a famous internet-based classified ad site. I am hopeful that Swappa remains a place for good sellers and buyers, and not scams. Here's hoping. For now, I'm still quite pleased.
I bought two phones so far, and I am highly satisfied. I haven't bought any cheap or poor quality phones, just good or better, and I haven't been dissatisfied yet.
Buy from trustworthy sellers and you shouldn't have a problem.
I've had several sales and purchases on Swappa. It's always been a positive experience. Setting up a sale is simple and purchasing feels safe with them.
Awsome place to do business. Awsome product just a described in listing. Great communicator. Fast shipping A++++++!
I am a new seller on Swappa, and until now everything was smooth and good, support answer to email very quickly and they help you step by step. I will use more frequently Swappa for my sells and I will recommend it to my friends and clients.
Iʻve had mostly good experiences with Swappa and Swappa staff; my previous non-sale (seller did not send item though I paid for it) was resolved in about 48 hours with Swappa staff and PayPal. Other purchases were good, sometimes shipping took a bit longer. It really depends on the sellers!
Iʻm in the midst of an issue now that has me frustrated, hence the lower rating - seller agreed to ship quickly, but did not and did not let me know about the delay. (FedEx showed the agreed-on delivery time... then suddenly the delivery date changed the day I was expecting it.)
As I am leaving the country for a week, this leaves in in limbo with no device. Theoretically it arrives sometime next week while I am away, but requires a signature.
Swappa staff have varied in their responses, in this case the last staff member noted that technically the seller is within their timeframe to ship, so itʻs not an issue (despite conversations on the purchase site that it was agreed to ship early and my paying more for that service).
This is the part that troubles me most: my follow-up questions about what I should/could do (Re: delivery as I wouldnʻt be there, no communication with seller) were ignored.
My advice when using Swappa: be **very** clear about shipping, deadlines, and refunds if those arenʻt met before you pay for it; always assume extra time for delivery - even if you pay extra for fast shipping; as a buyer expect to have to do all the follow up, checking, etc. if there is a problem.
(In both cases where I had issues, I had to follow up repeatedly, look up additional info, etc. It takes a lot of time!)
My Sony Xperia sold quickly for a fair price on Swappa after little interest/offers on other sites. The entire process was easy, easy, easy.
I've bought and sold off Swappa multiple times, and I must say that it is the safest site to buy and sell from. They guarantee your device IMEI's and serials to ensure a clean unlocked device. I recommend it!
I have had both positive and negative experiences of buying products from Swappa. If the seller is honest then you have a good experience. I have had several such experiences. Most of the sellers do work with the buyer to make it a good transaction.
But, if the seller is not then you are pretty much on your own. I have had a few of that as well. In such cases, Swappa doesn't get involved in resolving the issue. They will direct you to PayPal to find a resolution. That process is tedious and time-consuming. Their resolution tends to be to find a way to void the sale. Sometimes it is possible but sometimes it is not. Tread with caution when buying from Swappa. Ask the seller all the questions.
To answer your question:
Ways you as a buyer can protect:
Make sure the seller posts pictures. Battery health is one example. One seller refused to post a picture but claimed all along that the health is good. It turned out to be false when I got the phone. The seller refused to cooperate to get the battery fixed. Swappa doesn't do anything in such situations to resolve the issue even though there is enough proof to show that the seller was dishonest. Swappa recommends resolving such issues via PayPal. Involving PayPal is a long drawn out process and their decision is usually to return the device back to the seller and void the sale.
Another issue I had was with the screen. The touchscreen was not working. The seller claimed that it is working and there was no issue. Thankfully, the seller was good enough to take it back and refund the money.
What I always do is to take the Apple devices to an Apple store and have them do a free courtesy check. That has always been very helpful. Both the above issues were identified through Apple's courtesy check.
My first time using Swappa, easy thing went very well, great product and price. I will be back for future needs.
Bought and sold electronics on the site. Easy to find what you need, can negotiate with sellers and buyers, transactions are well documented and good how-to's to make sure they go smoothly. Feels much better than eBay, but I hear it's very difficult to resolve a transaction that has gone awry. PayPal helps, but nothing perfect.
I will never use craigslist, ebay or Facebook market place to buy electronic devices again. So many issues and pitfalls avoided by the way swappa does things. Avoid frustration and doubt and just use swappa.
I've sold several of my old cell phones using swappa. The process is easy to do and straight forward. I feel good about "recycling" my used cell phones this way. For me is not necessarily about making money. It's just a responsible way to dispose of a cell phone I'm no longer using and getting a little extra money is just a bonus.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
