I have bought and sold numerous phones on their site and never Had any problems. Staff is always helpful and I will continue to use them forever!
I was hesitant to buy a used phone online because of scams. I didn't want to use craigslist, so I did a little research on legit websites. I really liked Swappa because they're straightforward. The website is user friendly so it wasn't hard to find the phone I wanted with the right carrier. I felt safe because of all of the checks and tests the seller has to go through to post their items. I felt even more safe that Swappa uses PayPal as a reliable payment service. I knew that if I didn't receive the product that was advertised, I could get my money back. The seller was prompt and I loved the communication that Swappa uses to make sure all parties know what's going on.
I'd read good reviews about Swappa so when I decided to get another phone, I decided to try it out. Making a profile & buying a phone was very easy, & I had no problems. Will buy all my phones from Swappa from now on out.
I am currently dealing with a bad situation through SWAPPA. I bought a ZTE Boost Max N9520, that showed to be in good, shiny condition with an a/c charger. When I received the phone, it had a deep scratch on the face, the water indicator is red and there are signs of possible corrosion on the SD card tray. SWAPPA said they don't deal with disputes, to contest it with PayPal and if I send the phone back, they would refund my $10 buyer fee and told me not to dispute the buyer fee with PayPal. How do I know that the seller isn't going to state that they never got the phone returned? The seller already stated that he doesn't want it back and that it isn't the same phone he sent. Went so far as to say, he felt that HE was being scammed. All I want is the phone as described, where is there room for a scam in that?
I also did not receive an a/c charger with it, the seller said he wasn't selling it with one, even though it is clearly in black and white on the listing. The whole transaction started out with the seller stating he did not receive my payment and later back tracking, stating that he forgot he was selling the phone on SWAPPA and did get the money. The phone was shipped in a flimsy envelope with a very thin layer of bubble wrap around it. There did not appear to be any damage to the envelope or any dampness nor water stains on the envelope. When I tried to turn the phone on, the LED just glowed red, I tried to charge it and still red. I ended up having to do a hard reboot that I found on line and the phone finally turned on. I am still awaiting an outcome, so far a good result is not looking very promising.
When I buy or sell from Swappa their tight structure provides confidence for me and the other party to get immediate answers from the staff themselves if needed. This is easier for me than Craigslist and easier than spending twice as much with Carriers
An amazingly efficient, professional buy/resell service that's reliable, respectful, and fun to use. Well managed and serviced. The customer service performance is unmatched. I can't wait to use again and again -- both as a buyer and seller.
What a Great Company, recieved my device in little as 2 days, I rate them outstanding. Thanks Swappa!
First time using site. Had a very good experience. The phone I bought was exactly as listed and the seller was very quick with shipping. The site itself confused me a little because I didn't know what a Paypal confirmed address is, but they did have an explanation on the site.
Great place to get a mobile phone. My was in great shape & had charger included. Thanks Swappa!
Swappa is the best place to find a "new to you" used cell phone. Excellent prices and the Swappa staffers are there to make sure the transaction goes smoothly. I got a great phone in excellent condition for half the price of new. My brother told me about Swappa after he got his "new" phone there. So glad he did! Great experience and highly recommended!
I heard about Swappa through a friend that has used them a few times. I decided to give them a try and everything worked out flawlessly. I will use them again.
Phone was in excellent condition as described! Was shipped in a timely manner! I am very happy with my new phone!
Bought a phone (Moto X 2nd Gen) on Swappa after a good amount of research. The transaction was smooth, no surprises, and fast. Will definitely do this again.
Purchased a used Note 5. The phone was in great condition, but I did not know that rooting a phone breaks Samsung Pay which is something I was looking forward to. While the site has an indication for whether a phone has been rooted or not, it should more clearly explain what that means by breaking a key feature of a given model of phone.
Got burned on ebay once and switched to swappa. Absolutely no problems since then.
I bought a new iPhone 5s for cheap, this site is great for poor losers like me. I almost feel sorry for the braindead Apple fanbois who spend $800 on the same phone. Swappa is better than Craigslist because I can easily buy a device online safely instead of meeting a 40 year old single neckbeard virgin who lives in his mom's basement. Thanks again Swappa.
I found the website very accessible and had no problem with buying a phone. The staff are helpful and efficient. This was my first time using Swappa and I am very pleased with the service as a whole. I will definitely recommend Swappa to friends and family, and certainly use it again in the future!
Within 2 days I received a brand new iPhone 6S Plus. The seller had excellent communication, and kept me informed on any updates. My package was sent via FedEx Priority Overnight. This is my 3rd phone from swappa and I definitely recommend buying / selling on swappa.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.

Born, we're sorry to see this situation. Swappa's refund policy is clear in stating that if you did not receive the device as advertised then you are entitled to a refund. And Swappa does "deal" with disputes by trying to help them be avoided whenever possible. However, in this situation we have a buyer saying one thing and a seller saying another, and both providing evidence to support their case. Unfortunately we can't provide judgement for who's telling the truth in a situation such as this, and that's where PayPal's dispute resolution process comes into play.
