Been doing business in Swappa for 4 years. Never had a negative experience
Really appreciated having Swappa moderators be readily available to monitor transactions when asked. VERY responsive. Phone that was purchased was poorly packaged by seller and incurred some cosmetic damage. No big deal, but it would have been downgraded at a lower cost if re-sold. Swappa pushed the seller to make right... a tool that wouldn't have been available on eBay etc.
I've used Swappa for awhile now and will continue to use it even though my first purchase was a bad one. The IMEI number was blocked when I went to the T-Mobile store. I bought it on a Thursday and it was reported lost on Saturday. The seller said he buys and sells phones and that the number was good when he listed it, which is true. I returned the phone and got my money back. I was only out the return shipping cost, about $6.00 Whenever you buy a used phone there is always the possibility of it being reported lost or stolen no matter where you buy them. Ebay, Craigslist, Swappa, Amazon, ect. There is a RTC block now happening with phones purchase 6 months aga. RentaCenter is doing it. Google it. PayPal is the only recourse you've got. The phone companies and the insurance companies don't CARE if you can prove you bought it.
I have dealt with all of the major sites and their handling of used electronic sales, and I have to say this was the easiest transaction I have made in a while. I never felt doubtful of the seller because of the feedback provided on them from other users. I was also comforted by the verification process that Swappa ensures to al buyers and sellers alike. I will definitely be using this site in the future and recommend it to others.
Needed a replacement phone and wanted a used one. Found swappa to be a great marketplace for variety of devices and a safe transaction.
Plus their posting of recent transactions provides a great tool for what the current market price is.
This phone was in much better shape than I figured it would be based on the description. I am pleasantly surprised. Thank you so much.
Great intermediary for selling devices with a community feel.
I have purchased my 4th. Phone via swappa, great price, but even better followthru.
You can buy with confidence, they verify that the phone is not under contract.
Cautionary tale - if you anticipate on unlocking the phone, verify that it is able to be unlocked immediately upon receipt as it may still be listed on the owners account - even if it is paid off. Happened to me before and the seller immediately took care of the issue.
If you need to purchase your phone outright, this is the place! Great deals and very secure.
Swappa is the very high profecional team I like to work with. Great site to sell electronics. Any questions I had to Swappa team, always got answers and help. Highly recommend to other sellers and buyers this great site.
I love using Swappa, it is easier / safer to buy phones & gadgets via swappa than eBay or craigslist.
As a buyer I feel the Swappa staff has my interests in mind and make sure any issues are resolved fairly and quickly.
I will only buy from Swappa as I feel it is the most trust worthy source for reliable phones / tablets.
My first time using Swappa, and a great experience. I watched several phones and the site sent updates on these phones when there were questions, or price changes, or when additional phone were listed. The fact that these phones have had their ESN checked, and other Swappa standards is reassuring. I will recommend Swappa!
I've had 2 transaction with swappa so far and they've been flawless! Best website to buy a used/new phone better than craiglist! I bought one phone and sold one, it was super easy and straight forward! Will definitely use Swappa in the future for sells/purchases.
I needed a new(-ish) phone and didn't want to finance it through the phone company or spend too much. I found an iPhone 5 in mint condition on swappa for a very reasonable price. The purchase was smooth and easy, the phone shipped prompty, and arrived in the condition described; my first Swappa experience was very positive. They provide a nice "buyer's checklist" of things to verify, when the phone arrived, which made me feel confident that I had made a good choice. I'll definitely use Swappa again, next time I'm in the market for a phone, and would recommend to friends.
I was the buyer having 'pounced' on a listing minutes old. Determined not to miss "this one!" The first for her (the seller) and me (the buyer). Nor prior history but the eBay rating told the real tale. For her and for I as well. (One's eBay rating IS a measure of online voracity! My impatience made it "seem' slow in arriving but that was all ME. Not the seller! When received it was so meticulously packaged... "Loving Care" comes to mind! And REGISTERED MAIL for me? You shouldn't have..." It bought back the memory of the Smithsonian acquiring the Hope Diamond. The purchased was agreed upon but delivery had not been arranged. Soon after, before any discussion of transporting the world's largest cut diamond to Washington. A registered package arrive at the Smithsonian carried by the 'usual, regular' mail man with the Hope Diamond! Registered mail. Of course! Those were " the days!" Thank you. And good night!
The site is easy to navigate, the prices and availability are competitive, and the way transactions are structured makes them much more dynamic than comparable experiences I've had on other used-mobile sites.
Swappa let me buy a gently used phone with confidence! And I got a great deal!
Bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Received the phone super fast. It was just as described in the listing. There was however an issue with Samsung Activation lock.
I am glad i bought the phone from one of the best sellers i have ever dealt with. She was sincere and went all out in making sure the issue was resolved.
Through Swappa, i was able to stay in touch with the seller all through the process.
I am truly thankful for this buying experience. Would recommend Swappa to others.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
