Swagbucks presents a mixed reputation among its users, with some customers appreciating the variety of ways to earn rewards, such as surveys and games. However, significant concerns dominate the feedback, particularly regarding account deactivations, unresponsive customer service, and delayed payouts. Many users report frustration over not receiving compensation for completed surveys and feeling misled about earning potential. The overall sentiment leans towards dissatisfaction, with a notable number of users warning others against investing time in the platform due to perceived scams and inadequate support. This suggests a pressing need for the company to enhance its customer service and reliability.

Interesting how I had no issues with Swagbucks until I tried to cash out. Then suddenly they could not verify my identity. When I contacted them I was told they could not help me unless I provided a government issued ID to them. In the age of identity theft and scams, this seemed to me to be an outrageous request. I asked if there was not some other way- email, text to verify and the response was they could not help me unless I provided that information. I will surrender the $ rather than comply with this unreasonable request. Beware!
I downloaded this app because I do random surveys anyway and who doesn't play games and shop? Read the fine print on every offer no matter if it's game or one of magic receipts. Take screenshots if you're going to try to redeem these. I've had some luck but also some bad luck in submitting receipts with offers for SB. The offer is clearly on the receipt within time and guidelines and they reject it. After the first rejection which I lost ALOT of SB on, I started the screenshots. Going through review takes forever and it's usually rejected even with proof. Had more luck with online shopping rewards and game rewards.
I seem to take 50 surveys in 20 minutes and get nothing! I have 900 points right now and that can get you nothing. You need 1500 points juts to get a $15 gift card to Starbucks. I was taking a survey for ten minutes then it just stopped, telling me "Oh, you're answers aren't needed anymore." Like, if I'm accepted, just continue to take them...I thought that was the whole point of a SURVEY! And I'll never give you my number, btw; I don't need you calling me at 7am just to sell me crap.
Just started using Swagbucks not too long ago and things started out okay. Fast forward to my last receipt. An item would not scan and so I submitted a ticket for it. Was told that the credit has been added to the account. Great. Except it was not. Ticket has since been closed before I could say anything so I started a new ticket. Got told customer service support cannot deal with receipt issues and that I must do it through the "activity" page. Closed the ticket. I tried resubmitting the receipt to only get credit for that product, and came out rejected. Opened the 3rd ticket and the agent only taught me how to take a better shot of the receipt?!?! Closed the ticket again. After 3 attempts the issue was still not solved. It also no longer let me ask for help for that product via "activity ledger" anymore because it's been "solved". Finally opened a 4th ticket and expressed my frustration and the issue. At this point I thought about just returning the product and get it over with. Well, they finally gave me the credit that was due. Sigh. Literally something that they could have solved within the first ticket. One thing though is that they do reply in a timely manner unlike Ibotta.
They claim they give you money back but always say they something went wrong or it just buffers. I would rather use other sites.
I've been a member for awhile but was only doing occasional surveys. I've had more time lately so i've been doing more surveys. Their response was to block me from redeeming my points. After emailing and waiting for a week, they told me i wouldn't be allowed to redeem the points i earned unless i send them a copy of my ID and wait two weeks for them to decide if i'm worthy. There are a lot of survey sites out there...I'd skip this one.
SCAM!
Easy sign up, spend hours doing surveys for them - very slow, ineffective way to make any reward points, but then - as soon as you do manage to make enough to redeem they quickly deactivate and block your account so that they don't have to honour the pitiful rewards.
Even when you chase them up to see how they 'justify' this fraud, they ignore your ticket.
Reported to microsoft, and google, and actionfraud andusa.gov.
BE AWARE OF THIS SCAM
They are way too inconsistent. If you order 2 gift cards in the same day, expect to receive one quickly but the 2nd one won't come for days after the first. So if you are trying to stack gift cards to make one purchase, expect to be waiting days to make your purchase. Also horrible customer service that takes forever to respond.
This website has gone downhill big time! If you have no problems and you don't need to contact customer service, it is a great website (their customer service doesn't really exist anymore) - All you get is 1 of their automated customer care messages that SAYS they will get back to you. And they do, but NOT about what you are asking ask about. So, if you should have ANY kind of problem with an IHUT survey, a survey diary, or a regular survey it would be a waste of time to contact customer service because there evidently there Isn't one. (I continuously contacted them almost everyday for over 8 weeks to get a response from a question I had asked about on 6/28 but never got a response & gave up.):
I asked them why I have to CONSTANTLY contact them to get my points for all these different surveys. Did I EVER get a response? -No! Don't call customer service - they won't help too much!
Account was verified through text message but still deactivated the account. Now they want state issued picture id. Already tired of their spam emails that you get after signing up their offers. Wasted hours to earn $5 and now don't want to pay.
So, I been a memeber since 2012. I stopped for awhile, I couldnt remeber why. Till, I started using it again. Its really not worth the very little payout. To get 400 points, which is just almost a 5 dollar giftcard. You have to do the 45 min to 2 hour surveys, their really hard to get, and get approved for. So, you can spend roughly over 8 hours to just make 25 if youre lucky. This isnt always the case, sometimes it takes 12 hours to get just 10 dollars. It'll put you on a hot streak for a while, so you'll stick around. Then, theyll give you the crappy ones, where you stand no chance of passing, or low swagbucks. On top of all that, youll complete a whole over 30 min survey to just be kicked back to swagbucks. Even though you were on the last page of the survery, since you didnt screenshot anything, swagbucks wont give you, a reward, not even a partical, this happens a lot. Surverys are the only way to actually get gift cards because almost everything else requires money The swagbucks live is even bigger joke.
Swagbucks is a lousy rebate site. Do not waste your time or your money trying to get rebates from them. They will ignore your submissions and then when you complain to customer service, they will put you through all sorts of difficulties to prove you made the purchase and then still not give you the rebate. This has happened to me so many times that I finally got the message and will not use them again. Their app is difficult to use and their customer service is a joke. You will come out much better using Ibotta and Shopkick. Save yourself the pain!
I thought they were for real until I earned over $25 (which they have never paid me), and they they cut me off with some excuse of not conforming to their rules (of which I am entirely unaware) and they will not explain. I have responded to their emails and I get robotic responses and can't get a real person to answer me as to why. Proceed at your won expense!
This is an extremely unprofessional website and from my experience, a total scam.
After months on the website without any issue (and accumulating hundreds of dollars worth of point) I received an email one day that my account was deactivated. I wrote to customer service inquiring about why it was closed, and got a very generic answer that I violated some sort of rule while signing up for an advertisement. I read all the rules and regulations VERY carefully before signing up for any promo, and know I did not violate any rule, at least not intentionally.
I followed up once more asking for more explanation and how I can redeem the point I had already been awarded.
They not only refused to give me details about how I violated their rules, but they did not tell me how I could redeem my points or get my money back from the promotions I signed up for to gain the points.
It was another generic "your account is closed" response. Nothing further.
I would warn you to be very cautious taking part in this scam. It's not even the fact my account was deactivated, it's that they did it with no warning and could give me no information about why when I asked multiple times which is extremely sketchy. Nor did they let me redeem my points for my "valid" purchases.
Best ever can't believe that it was so easy to use and get help and the gift cards are so good u must try
Works fine until you run into a problem. And believe me you will run into problems with lots of their offers. I've had to raise tickets for at least 7 different offers and any of the following can happen:
- you never get a response
- you get a response up to 2 weeks later and you get your bonus, if you are lucky. But this requires you to track every offer you've done and chase it up
- you get a response which has no relevance to the query you've raised
- you get asked to do an ID verification a number of times
- you're screenshots and evidence of completing an offer are ignored and you dont get the bonus you were offered
- your case gets marked as solved, even though it hasnt been
- you get sent a copy and past email asking you for all the information you've just sent them
Most of the offers that they give out are also on Oh My Dosh. Which pays out 90% of the time and pays money straight into your account rather than making you use digital credit cards. Avoid Swagbucks and go there instead
I've always known this site was pretty bad about paying you for the things you do there, but it was a couple bucks a month to use on amazon when ordering groceries, a member for over 12 years... but now they have gone way beyond a site I feel safe on... I sent in a support request to be paid for an offer I was owed... Next thing I know they want my driver's license and a photo recognition photo of my face. This information can be used against you some day if its hacked or sold to a facial recognition software company... they try to assure you that its safe but the company they use wants to store this info for 3 years. Umm NO. Why? I would not allow them to have this for minutes let alone 3 years... We have already verified our account threw the postal mail and also threw text on our cell phones. Why are they now wanting to collect our ID and photo... that is just not right and for the 3 dollars Im owed I will not comply to this demand
I love Swagbucks. I've been using the site for several years and I've gotten hundreds of dollars in gift cards. There are many ways to earn swagbucks. You can take surveys, download and play mobile games, watch videos, submit store receipts, and more that I can't think of right now. Swagbucks are worth about a penny each and you can cash out for as little as five dollars and it doesn't take long at all to get there. I highly recommend this site to anyone who wants to spend a little time earning gift cards online.
I've gotten hundreds of dollars from swagbucks. It's great. I will continue using it for the foreseeable future.
The last day I have been taking several surveys and completing them and then after the final question is answered, the site disqualifies me for all the time I spent answering their survey question and doesn't reward me the SB points that I deserve, that I rightfully earned. I am getting very discouraged and don't like always having to contact help support team with these problems. The team is very good at resolving most of this problems in a fast time frame. I give them an A+ rating for what they do.
Most of the offers i click on I am not getting credit for and this is becoming a huge issues since all they are offering lately is either surveys or offers to earn Swagbucks. I have been denied credit on more than one occassion and signing up for these offers fills your email with nothing but spam emails. I have been a member for almost 10yrs and now not even the click and earn's are working or giving credit. Still no response from the help center on what the problem is. Very disappointed considering i have seen commercials promoting the website.
Answer: They are definately legit been a member for many years and have earned over 70,000 swagbucks been paid many times with no problems also use there swagbutton with no problems
Answer: It is real cash, since you can have the payment through PayPal or Visa cards. They're not going to just deposit into a bank account.
Answer: Each point is a penny. So if you want a $5 gift card you need 500 Swagbucks. My only recommendation is don't get the Visa cards. All other cards work easily online or in store. Visa never seems to be accepted anywhere.
Answer: No, it won't steal your personal data. It's perfectly safe.
Answer: Got to $28 rather quick but the next $2 i need to cash out IS TAKING FOREVER!
Answer: You need to earn swagbucks to get a gift card. As few as 300-500 swagbucks will get you a gift card (worth $3 - $5). Better gift cards are available for more swagbucks.
Answer: Either way. Some gift cards are physical cards and are mailed and some are online.
Answer: "... the page disappeared..."? If this is about getting a bonus for using the Search function, the page doesn't disappear; it sits there until you move off it. A couple times, I have moved off a page before realizing there was a Search bonus. I hit the Back button on my browser & input the code, no problem. Of course, if you don't respond in a timely manner, the bonus expires. (I think it's around 3 minutes, but I'm not certain.) Also, if you input a non-matching code, you'll get a new code, but only 2x (3 chances in total). Are you maybe talking about a SwagCode? That's a bonus that appears on an otherwise normal page. And again the page doesn't disappear. If you take too long, you get an expired notice in the SwagCode box, but the page remains.
Answer: Many giftcards are sent electronically. Some are within a few hours, others can take a few days. How well they pay depends on which activity you're referring to and also how much time and effort you devote to earning. Some activities are USELESS, like watching videos - you watch 15 30-second videos and are only paid 2SB, the equivalent of 2¢. For 7.5mins, that's asinine! However, some of the activities, like the surveys, in-store shopping/receipt upload and games (such as Swago) can offer a great bonus here and there.
Answer: You never get paid from there discovery items, huge scam
