I ordered and paid for two items. A week later they send an email that one of the items is on back order for at least another month. The first item they shipped at their overpriced shipping rate. Businesses shouldn't accept orders for items not in stock... it's not hard to set up a system that can do that. I wonder if Robert Redford knows how crappy his company has become.
I loved this catalog for a long time now. I finally decided to go online and order a pair of jeans. Expensive jeans. I have an email that says I get 10% of my first order which is about $11. Then I also have an email that says I get free shipping which is about $15. Not much of a difference but if you have to choose only one, you obviously want to choose the higher one.
I go online to place my order (I order online all the time) and there is a field for a source code from your catalog, so I logically put that in since it is on the catalog I am ordering from. I get all the way through my order and apply the 10% discount. I then get an error message telling me the source code is not valid. Yet, it will not let me go back and remove the source code. I go back and forth with Everson on chat telling me to get the free shipping I need to go through my email but I will need to use another browser because the source code thing does not work. (even though it is a field on your website that instructs you to enter it). But circular logic prevails; I can't get the discount unless I go through my email, therefore using the same browser. He or she suggests I clear the cookies, which was a good idea. So I go back on and I try to place a new order and it keeps adding the old order in, no matter what I do. I cannot remove the first discount so I can get the higher discount of free shipping.
I then call your customer service line (so much time has already been spent, but I would really like these jeans) and I ask for a manager. Finally, after several times of asking for the manager the nice woman puts me on hold. Six minutes later, I hung up.
As an online business where online ordering should be easy and painless, this was awful.
Very disappointed. I really wanted to be your customer and I hope no one asks me what my experience is with your company.
I ordered a top in XS. I am 5 5 and 135 lb. it looked as expected and seemed well made but was too tight through upper arms and shoulders and way too loose in the body. No problem - I mailed it back myself and I had recd free shipping to me so not too bad. However - when they asked me to review the shirt and it was not a perfect review, they said it was refused. Evidently they wont allow any criticism. I stated in the review that their fees for shipping are high especially when other high end stores give free ship and returns. I unsubscribed and won't buy from them again because Ive seen numerous bad reviews re customer service.
I had the absolute worst customer service ever with Sundance! I ordered some items in December sent them back! It is February now still no package! Called customer service and had A representative on the phone that was extremely rude
Ordered sterling, 14k, & 24k plated rings. Received PLASTIC. Hershey's kiss wrappers have more precious metal than what was sent en lieu of what is advertised. Also, sales folks advised buying sizes for apparel & shoes which as it turned out was completely ridiculous, not at all close to any standard of sizing. It can only be assumed it was done to move merchandise from a sinking ship. Ordered over 2&1/2dz items, most of which were defective, of very poor quality, & in the worst case just plain old bait & switch, fraudulent. Customer Service Manager is awful, has no qualms defending the indefensible. Also experienced delayed return/refund for an unreasonable amount of time with a lot of quicksilver double speak about 'being closed for inventory', 'other departments dropping the ball', etc. Clearly, there is a persistent pattern of deceit & arrogance. These are dishonest, bad faith operators, not to mention lawless. Here I refer specifically to 1). False advertising, 2). Importing counterfeit goods & 3). Price gouging for "jewelry" that is non-compliant w/US law requiring precious metal markings. (nicer rings can be found in bubble gum machines for $150. Less). Steer clear of this business, which through its own unscrupulousness & malfeasance is well on its way to knocking itself off. Buyer beware indeed.
Never expected such poor service. They back ordered the hat I ordered without telling me, for more than a month, then did not reply to my request to look into it. They didnt care when I finally accessed their live chat. It was ordered for a gift and will not arrive on time. If they had shown something on the site I would have ordered something else. What a terrible company.
I received a pair of boots as a Christmas present. Called the day after Christmas to process an exchange for a larger size. I sent the boots back that day and 22 days later my return was processed and now the boots were no longer in stock. Instead of reaching out to me as the gift recipient with a credit, they refunded the purchase back to the original credit card, so now I was completely out of a gift and in the awkward position of having to go back to the original gift giver. When I spoke with customer service, they were extremely rude and didn't seem to care about my experience. Truly the worst company I have dealt with in a very long time.
Save yourself time, money & aggravation. This company has the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. Wish I would have read these reviews before I ordered anything from them. Will continue to throw all new catalogs in the trash immediately after receiving. Not worth it in ANY WAY!
I am so angry and disgusted. I returned some merchandise on December 3,2017.
I am still waiting for a refund since that day. I have called every day since December 13, to find out the status. They use some kind of media mail to for returns. I have been given excuses the runaround and the "WE ARE SO ELITE" treatment. Their clothes are expensive. A medium is a Large. The shoes are a 1/2 size small. Unless you have a coupon you get to pay shipping both ways. So BEWARE! They are FLOATING YOUR MONEY! The CS reps can be nice (NOT ALL), but they are afraid of the main office, and afraid to get real answers. The main office will not help, and was rudely told they would not help me, just put you back into the CS line. They are holding your money hostage to get interest on it. Like a small loan. The worst banks do the same. CUSTOMER LOYALTY MEANS NOTHING TO THEM! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING> YOU ARE TRASH IN THE WAY THEY TREAT YOU. I made many polite phone calls and was told all kinds of excuses, it was when I tried calling the main office the receptionist was snotty and rude. One of the CS reps slurped a soda or her lunch the entire time I spoke with her. She gave me different answers than the 2 previous CS reps I spoke with... then he actually called me a $#*! and hung up on me. Who are these people that think they are go GREAT. I though Robert Redford was different. Boycott! &

Buyer beware and take what others have said to heart! I ordered a bracelet that I had wanted to wear while on holiday that came in defective. I ordered a new one for the occasion while returning the defective one the same day. It's been four weeks and I've now returned from holiday only to discover they have not yet issued the refund. Now I'm having to call daily to have one of their "reps" follow-up with their "refund department" to see what the delay or "issue" is even though they have documented that they did receive the bracelet on 12/14/17, in their possession for three weeks! The item was rather pricey for the quality, but I liked the look of the bracelet and thought it was worth the exchange. In hind sight I would not have ordered from them had I researched what others had to say about their poor return policy! I do not see why I should have to support Robert Redford's lifestyle and nor shall I ever again!
Bought an inexpensive ring (~80$), so I'm not expecting that much... However, this is well below reasonable... Impossible to clean and does not look good. Design of ring is bad...
I bought a ring for my girlfriend, it was $140. The website shows it as a white, rocks material ring, but all I got was a cheap, hammered metal ring.

It cost $45 to ship to me with customs, and another $36 to return it. They wouldn't provide me a return label. So I paid $80 for shipping on a false advertised ring that cost $140.
I will never, ever buy anything from here again!
I'm not quite sure what the problem is with this catalog. You order from them and it takes forever to get your order. They never sent me a confirmation claiming that I had indicated I didn't want confirmation emails from them. Now they say my order shipped 21 days ago and I still don't have it. Don't think I'll order from them again.
I ordered a ring in October. I had not received by end of November. Called customer service, was told the item is not available. Worst customer service I have ever seen. I first was told the item was on back order, then told all those items were sold and there are not any more. All these people need to be trained in management of a store. It was very disappointing. Robert Redford, I would fix this or get rid of it.
In this peak shopping season of the year, ALL retailers offer FREE shipping AND holiday discounts. Sundance offers neither unless you buy $150 worth of their over priced clothing. And do not do this, not worth it.
And God forbid it needs to be returned or exchanged. Fron the other comments I am expecting even WORSE customer service THEN...

I received a gift from Sundance. That was a bad thing! I had nothing but problems with them from the get go. The worst was I had to return the gift and requested a gift card as to not offend the giver. You guessed it... oh we credited the credit card... ooops... sorry for the inconvenience. You can imagine the problems I have now and they simply do not care. Awful customer service.
I received my items yesterday in a big box, expecting these beautiful items. First give away were the plastic bags everything came in. Then to see the quality. When a sweater is $188.00 it should come wrapped in tissuepaper not a plastic bag. Everything is going back. It loomex so vreat in the catslogues but in person, cheap, cheap, cheap.
Cha ge your prices and your packaging.

Like many others here, I too was shocked to learn about the shipping costs at Sundance. I thought - this can't possibly be right - $20.00 to ship 2 small shirts but then an additional $8 to return? When I called the company, an EXTREMELY rude representative confirmed that yes, to shop at Sundance, you should be able to pay top dollar for shipping. This is a particularly significant problem for Sundance, because in my experience with the outlet store over many years, most of the clothing doesn't fit quite right and is of variable quality. It's extremely apparent that that, at Sundance, customers not in the 1% are not valued at all.
I never write reviews, but at this time I have to make people aware of all the shipping charges. I paid 17.95 for shipping, 23.50 for the return and I was told they would charge me either 7.95 or 12.95 for returning the items. I also was told I had to ship it today to make sure it would arrive within the 30 days they give you to ship your items back, well I received my package yesterday. At the post office they tell me that the label to return(is only the return address)is to small for the box. On top of that, customer sevice tells me the label is not the correct address. How can you send every two weeks a catalog for free but not shipping. Sundance... you not only lost a customer, but you also received a bad review.
I have had to return items more than once for inferior quality (very different than the pictures!). I have found the customer service very unhelpful, I have had to wait over ten days for credit on my account while not getting back the shipping cost. This is the worst online purchasing experience I have had, don't even bother, because its waist of time & money!
Answer: No. Sold it to a lawless private equity firm. Took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. Screw the customer until there are none, then just rebrand and keep screwing the customer. But when it comes down to it, its up to consumers to do their homework on all e-commerce as there are few laws, protections, and really no regulatory oversight/enforcement for this kind of criminal fraud which is rampant in the US now. Other countries have enviable common sense laws governing e-commerce on their books because their citizens wont tolerate the sort of abuses and fraud perpetrated by companies like Sundance, et al.
