Sundance Catalog has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with some appreciating the aesthetic appeal of their products and catalog. However, a significant number of reviews highlight persistent issues regarding product quality, particularly discrepancies between advertised and received items. Customers frequently express frustration over delayed shipping, cumbersome return processes, and unresponsive customer service. Many report long wait times for refunds and inadequate support when problems arise. Overall, while the brand has a loyal customer base, the growing concerns about service reliability and product quality suggest a need for improvement in customer care and operational efficiency.

I paid $88.10 for a turtleneck that was made in China. Thought for that price it would be soft comfy and cute. Well it looks cute on. It says 80% organic cotton? Maybe that is the scratch part. But if they are producing in China I cannot imagine why they are so much money. Doubt they have organic cotton shipped there either. Would not order another.
This company has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced from a catalog company. Merchandise takes months to receive and no updates are sent by them to let you know what is going on with your order. This final time, I waited over three months with no information given about the delay until I sent them email inquiry's. Three inquiry's. Always some "canned" form letter is sent and never with any pertinent information as to when you will receive the item. Finally, I was told they weren't going to send me the item and gave some lame excuse as to why I had to wait so long for nothing!
Sundance also profits from their S&H charges. They charge a lot for delivery! Way more than is reasonable.
I don't think Sundance cares about their customers at all.
When so many other clothing companies offer free shipping (at least with minimum purchase) and free returns, why doesn't Sundance? It's ridiculous that I paid almost $20 in shipping and then had $8 withheld from my return for shipping. Obviously, these are inconsistent fees, but I shouldn't have to pay for either. I took a chance because all 3 of the dresses I ordered appeared worth it on my computer screen. Mistake. $30 mistake that won't happen again. None of the dresses looked as nice in person, so they all went back.
Everything in sundance catalog is very aesthetically pleasing. Via my computer screen. In person it is nothing like the pictures they use to sell their merchandise.
Outrageously priced? I thought to myself, but then thought it must be really high quality. Not the case. Sundance catalog is a complete and total rip off. I ordered what looked like a beautifully crafted sterling silver moonstone ring for $98.00. Street vendors in Tiajuana sell better quality jewelry than that garbage and for a lot less than $98.00.
The stone is large so its pretty hard not to notice that it is cracked in at least 5 different places and instead of being straight up and down and evenly set with the band, say, at 12 o'clock, the setting sits at a very obviously crooked 1 o'clock. I should have realized that they were dirtbags when they asked for an aditional amount of money to have my ring sent in its giftbox. Tacky.
Sundance catalog has completely destroyed the reputation of a brand that was once synonymous with:
Quality, integrity, and decency.
I was born and raised in Utah in 1961. I remember everything about the birth and rise of all things "Sundance", to include many many hiking, snowshoeing, and winter camping excursions on the absolutely beautiful mountain (Timpanogos) on which the Sundance ski resorts resides.
What. A. Shame.
From the cheaply made and the exorbitantly overpriced "imported " items from China, to the discourteous and deplorable customer service.
This company is NOTHING like the wonderful and unique company that Mr Redford founded in 1969.
I am embarrassed for him, as I am sure that he would no longer represent IN ANY WAY with
sundancecatalog.com; unless legally bound to via contract.
$17.95 for a very lightweight blouse. This is why I never order clothes that would be perfect for me. I just wont' be ripped off.
Terrible shipping costs and shipping length. Ordered a pair of shorts in May, backordered until June it now the end of August and have yet to receive the shorts though on the website it says that they were shipped. I never get email updates for shipping, very long time to receive a refund when returned. Clothes quality is not as good as it used to be. Forget them. Terrible site.
Sundance Catalog raises the price on outlet items before and during 40% off promotion. For example, a sweater I was eyeing jumped From $29.00 to 49.00 lol. Do they think their customers are stupid? Anybody who shops this site often will notice that they sharply increased the prize on outlet items. They want you to believe you're getting a good deal but really you're not! You're likely to end up checking out for the same price as you would during their 10 or 20% off promotion. Completely ridiculous and so transparent. Many items are cheaply made in China and do not live up to the expectation of what is pictured. I have also noticed that many outlet items have zero reviews. Are they wiping them before a 40% off promotion so we can't read bad reviews?
So discouraging every time I order I hope shipping efficiency will be better it never is! I will never order from them again Garnet Hill, J Jill etc is much prompter and more reasonable
Be warned, please don't buy from Sundance. It took 1 month for them to acknowledge that I returned an item (they received it a month earlier) and it will be another month before I receive a refund... minus $27.90 for return costs. Of course, I'm disputing the charges as their website clearly shows that large package returns incur a fee of $12.95, not $27.90. I encourage everyone to dispute their bogus fees because, if they need to assign them to a customer service employee to resolve, it will cost them money. If they get enough unhappy customers, i. E., it's costing them a lot to address the disputes, then they might do the honest thing and abide by their return policy. Furthermore, their products are of very poor quality. Never again!
Sundance customer service is certainly not what it used to be and not up to par with similar retail sites. I have been ordering from Sundance for many years, and I will never make another purchase again. This all stems from a gift I purchased for my daughter and their absolute refusal to assist me- not mention the fact that the supposed supervisor hung up on me! My suggestion is to stay away and make your purchases elsewhere. There are unlimited options out there with better quality merchandise and more reasonable shipping costs and return policies. What an unpleasant experience to have when purchasing a gift for a special occasion!
I used to be a fan of this site and have ordered countless things from them over the years--jewelry (mostly Jes MaHarry), clothing, bags, and shoes. I will say I feel the quality has drastically suffered over the years and I notice much more unpredictable sizing, which usually means I end up ordering two sizes and returning one. Agree with shipping: Ridiculously expensive and, for the price, never arrives in a timely fashion because of the delivery service they use. To return (which I always seem to end up doing of late) is also expensive and takes forever to receive refund. You know it's a global problem when, if you go to leave a review, they won't even let you comment on shipping costs and will not post a review that mentions how bad they are. Prices are high, too, so you'd think at least they'd excel at customer service, but they do not. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I can recall only one person in the past few years who was helpful in sending us an immediate replacement on a pair of men's mocs that literally fell apart within the month. Really all over the map. I still love Jes's jewelry, though you can order from her through her own website and deal with much less hassle.
I have ordered a lot of things from Sundance, I spent lots of money ordering clothes and shoes, I made a conscious decision with everything going on in this world race wise, not to order or buy from anyone weather at a restaurant, clothing department that does not represent people of color. Not hard to find women or men of color
With a $50 gift card plus additional monies, I purchased the most economical necklace I could find online and on sale. When it arrived it was itty bitty and cheap in appearance.
Returned it. Fortunately the entire refund was put on my credit card. Waste of time.
I expect quality from a business affiliated with Robert Redford.
Bought a beautiful ring on clearance in 2017
I've worn it maybe a total of 10 times. While out last night, I looked down and realized the stone had fallen out. Sorry but that should NEVER happen. I own loads of rings and have never had a stone fall out! I retraced my steps but no avail. I reached out to Sundance this am and was told that clearance items only have a 30 day policy. Sorry but somethings wrong with that. I take very good care of my jewelry, this was not neglect on my part! Sundance is not a cheap company but definitely has a "cheap" customer service policy! Sorry for me and sorry for Sundance, I won't ever purchase another item from them again!
I recently ordered a dress, necklace and a pair or sandals (kork-Ease). I'm familiar with the Kork-Ease brand so I had no hesitation in purchasing the sandals and I'm very happy with them. However, the dress arrived with a missing baton. Luckily I found the button in the bag and was able to saw it. The necklace arrived 2 weeks later. The pendant, a turquoise stone, had been broken in 1/2 and glued back. Little disappointed with the missing baton, but I figured I keep it rather than spending on return fees. I was very disappointed and upset to say the least and about to return it when I read the reviews on the awful customer service on return items. I had been a customer of Sundance for many, many years; I look forward to the catalogs as everything in it looks amazing and high quality. I don't order much as I think the prices are way toooo high, and now, the quality is down the drain! I won't be ordering any more until I read overwhelming positive reviews!
Bought a dress for $128.00. Loved it so much I decided to purchase it again. Checked out Koselip dresses before ordering and found the exact dress for $23.99. Feel I was ripped off by Sundance.
My husband got me a very expensive ring for Christmas, two diamonds already fell out. They told me to mail it back and they would replace it and send an email to inform me of them receiving and sending. Well no email came so I called a week and a half later so I called and they told me they had it and were working on replacing it. I told them I moved and they updated my address while I was on the phone with them. 3 weeks later and no email. So I call again. They had already shipped it back without informing us via email or given us a tracking number for a $1000 piece of jewelry just floating around. They also shipped it to the wrong address. So I still don't have the ring as the USPS is still in the process of forwarding to my new address. Oh I also returned a $100 ring, that turned my finger green in 2 days of wearing it, back for a pair of shoes. A month later I called to see where the shoes were. They informed me they were backordered until November 2019... I ordered them Feb 2019 and they did not reach out via email, phone call, OR email to let me know. I was livid and they asked me if I wished to just cancel. Um yes. Lost my business forever.
I'd give this company a zero if it were an option. I'm sent an invoice for one amount (item way overpriced & cheap looking) & charged more on credit card statement. Rude customer service person who had no brains. Supervisor polite but basically told me that "we charged you correctly." So basically the fact they added on more than amount originally billed is correct & "we cannot give you a credit." Suggest if customers continue to be ripped off, they should contact AG's office in Utah. Looks like I am one of many customers who've been ripped off. Not congruent with their do-good BS mission statement. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS RIPOFF company.
I ordered a dress on 4/18. It arrived fairly promptly. The fit was terrible and I returned it on 4/25. I called today (May 21) to enquire about my refund. I was told that my return had been received on 5/7, but they were 'just now getting around to processing the items received on 5/7', and it would be another 5-7 days until I would see the credit. SAY WHAT? I did read similar reviews regarding the painful return process, but had high hopes that the dress would work for me, so I went ahead and took a chance. NEVER AGAIN. PLEASE - if you're considering ordering from this company, be aware that the shipping charges are exorbitant, and the return process is laborious. (and also costly).
Answer: No. Sold it to a lawless private equity firm. Took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. Screw the customer until there are none, then just rebrand and keep screwing the customer. But when it comes down to it, its up to consumers to do their homework on all e-commerce as there are few laws, protections, and really no regulatory oversight/enforcement for this kind of criminal fraud which is rampant in the US now. Other countries have enviable common sense laws governing e-commerce on their books because their citizens wont tolerate the sort of abuses and fraud perpetrated by companies like Sundance, et al.
Answer: Shipping costs are extremely high, shipping is very slow and quality is not consistent.
Answer: The photos are so deceptive that the product you receive is nothing like them. See my photos below. I wish Sundance would do better.
Answer: No you don't! Overpriced and poor quality. I Purchased a necklace on sale and it was so tiny I returned it. This company is no longer affiliated with Robert Redford!
