Thankfully I only use them for a couple transactions for smaller amounts then I got notification of payments held and account suspended because of customer not authorization on a charge …. Hmmmmm the funny thing is both of my charges were to friends I've been with for years and done business with I called them they said absolutely not they never contacted stripe or anyone and why would they with that in mind I'm pretty Certain there a complete scam there liars and committing fraud both of my friends never got a refund it's been 1 year one charge was $80 and the other was $160 of course they got there parts and I was out and wrote off as a loss told my friends to just pay me when they get there credit from stripe never happened they had to go to there banks with documents and emails they went above and beyond there bank refunded them but as for stripe there complete thieves liars and frauds

I am writing to inform you that I have had a very bad experience with Stripe. Stripe is a scam!

I signed up for their service and gave them my personal information, including my social security number. They accepted my information and sent me an email telling me that everything was good to go. I then proceeded to use their service, but they decided to close my account after I had received several payments from customers and placed a hold on my account. They also refunded all payments that were sent to me by customers who used Stripe.

This is completely unacceptable and I recommend that no one uses this service!

Not secure platform

Recently our company are facing a major problem that are concerning us and our customer safety on payment.
The problem we are facing are, there are payment for our service done by a 3rd party.
The concerning things are that the payment by this 3rd party (that we don't know who the culprit are) made the payment using other people credit card without the card owner consent(cc breach).
Credit card breach and payment used by other people without the consent of the card owner are classified as a crime and punishable by the law.
All of this disputes have been claimed by the card owner and has cost us ¥385,500 in total lost from 18 customers (more might come).

We have deployed all of necessary counter to prevent this crime to happening to us again. However
We are still very dissappointed with how stripe acted to prevent or help us to solve this problems. We have contacted your customer support and doing all the requirements with a very strong evidence by counter disputes but still got no results for us to win the claim and help us to prevent this kind of problem. This has caused us to lose all our trust on stripe to handle our transactions in the future.

Overcomplicated website for a shady reason surely. When you set an automatic payment they deduct 10% as fee (!), also, when you set the date of the payment, they simply postpone the future payout by a month (!). Their service is extremely pricey, for about 1400-1600k they take off about 55-60 bucks as fee. Reedsy and other websites force you to use this awful service without a choice, they're part of the problem. The 2.9% transaction fee is a joke. No customer service, they have total control over your payments. AVOID!

Worst Payment Gateway

Without even getting even a single dispute you are telling me that my business comes with high risk? This is not done. Im still unaware of the transactions you are talking about. You guys do not close a account if the dispute rate is below 1%... i havent received a dispute yet then why are you doing this? Not done
I have a very strong feeling now that is stripe is being very unfair and dishonest with merchants like me. I will tell you the facts,
1. It's been hardly 30 days since we have started using stripe
2. We received total of 116 successful payments before you guys decided to take my account down.
3. I don't know which un-authorized payment you guys are talking about, if at all there are any, you can tell me transaction ids of those payments, i will personally refund them. Now and in future too.
4. You can hold a % of our funds as security deposit and let us do our business peacefully.
The way you guys have closed a well run business is completely unfair and against what you claim on your website. I request you to activate our account asap.

Stripe is the WORST merchant you can use for your business. They do not help you when a customer disputes a charge. Stripe also DOE NOT HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE phone line, chat, or link! If you need help you will be stuck with no help from anybody.

I have been trying for two months to get $7000 from Stripe into my bank account, due to a typo I made in them insisting on updating their security measures. Customer support is completely inadequate. I have been on support six or seven times each time from a half an hour to an hour, no one has been able to help me. I am still trying to find someone who has any knowledge of the system and what is wrong with it.

It is the worst company I have ever dealt with, highly recommend you never use this horrible platform. It was a nightmare charges an enormous amount of fees.

Ive been waiting for my items since 30 June 2022. 4 months later and still no delivery.

Just 58 back and forth emails. Incorrect package tracking numbers, no phone numbers to speak to a real person. Nothing! This is the email address: *******@peonypavilionltd.com
Im so sure its a scam!

On 1 July (a few hours after my purchase) i contacted my bank to reverse the payment and they refused to do it saying this is a legitimate transaction... 4 months later im still waiting!

Do not ever make the mistake I have made.

I submitted a document on Sept 26th that Stripe had requested on my end for verification. Once I submitted the document there was a 24-48 hour time frame for review. After 4 days I requested a call (because you CAN NOT call Stripe yourself) the Representative on the phone did not understand the delay and was supposed to forward my Case # to the correct department ASAP. 6 days later I call again and speak to another Rep and NOTHING. 2 weeks later I receive an email stating that I breached the contract and that they were going to close out my account. It's now been 3 WEEKS and I STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY OF MY FUNDS! I keep "Emailing" Stripe and they're automated emails with no resolutions. Stay away from Stripe! They have the worst communication I have ever seen from a company. I can not believe that this is the way this company runs their business.

Horrible. Just horrible

Stripe... As you all know, they're a credit card payment processors. But not just that. They tend to lie to new business owners.
We all know how Stripe are harsh with their standards towards accepting new businesses. I knew that from the beginning.

However, I contacted Stripe, MAKING sure that my line of business is actually eligible for Stripe's standards. They went through my website and confirmed that my business is indeed eligible!
They told me, I have nothing to worry about, all i have to do is verify my ID and you're good to go! Which i did. Now they have my personal information stored...
After few payments made by clients, i received an email stating that they are going to close my account for restricted business model and fraudulent payments...

"We recently identified payments on your Stripe account that don't appear to have been authorized by the customer, meaning that the owner of the card or bank account didn't consent to these payments."

The funny part is, we only accept 3DS payments, therefore the client needs to authenticate in order to process the charge. We have set of rules implemented into our Radar fraud, stating that any CC that does not
Permit 3DS gets to be blocked.
Their message towards closing my account doesn't make any sense, now they're going to refund all my clients who got the service done.

P. S: The line of business is Web design & Branding. Which they completely approved upon signing up.

Conclusion: DO NOT trust Stripe whatsoever. Moving on onto another Payment providers.

The worst experience ever
October 8, 2022

Stripe has been holding $4350. 00 for over a month and no one will call or refund the money. My clients and I have both been sending emails because there's no other way to contact this company, and we get a response that stripe can't process the money but will refund the money in 5 days. I have a feeling we'll never see this payout or return and I'm going to be out $4350. This is a joke and I wouldn't recommend stripe to anyone who values your money.

I open a account on Sept 24 2022. They said it would take seven days to clear. I got a email today and said I will not get my funds until Feb. 2 2023. It's around 15k they owe me. Don't do business them. Square also is bad news. Today's date is Oct. 5 2022.

They are keeping my money against my will with false pretensions. Keep saying that they have to verify my business. I've sent every detail, my socials, my companies, everything overlooked, and they keep holding my money and I have to pay my employees. Really really really bad costumer service and even worse payment console. Won't use it anymore.

Funds being held for 90 Days then 121 days now 221 I'm fighting then emailing every hour on the hour until they blocked me on Twitter because I started a thread other people starting commenting and they blocked us all. That's what they do when you start fighting them. Been to the bbb putting together a lawsuit. This is for $332.76 By the way.

The worst customer experience I have ever had. My account was blocked 4 months ago: 2 payments were refunded but 1 is still being held by Stripe. The problem is so small it could be solved with a 1min call but they avoid it at all costs and take a few days to reply to my emails. Customer support keeps saying "we are working on it" but clearly they are not. Do a favor to your future self, DO NOT USE STRIPE.

Stripe gave the customer the opportunity to pay for the product through the e-store. After the buyer paid and the amount for the item appeared in the seller's stripe system, the seller shipped the item. After two orders, Stripe refused to cooperate due to their internal procedures and the seller no longer has the item. Also in the fourth month does not recover the amount of €200 for the sold item.

I had fraudulent transactions occur online in my business. Stripe told me that I disabled the security Radar function which is why the transaction was approved even though the customer used the incorrect card address and cvv number. I did not disable the Radar function and so obviously they could not prove that! (They log and event everything that takes place) Then they told me that Stripe actually disabled the Radar function to all their customers around the world because there was too many transactions being declined! (BrainFreeze- isn't that a good thing?) WTF Who in their right mind would even want to disable that function? Its the only real protection against online fraud.! Then they said that they sent me and all customers an email stating they had disabled it and so "we" could enable it again if we wanted to! And how long until I notice they have made that change to MY ACCOUNT! AND how many fraudulent transactions do I know have to deal with in lieu of their actions!?!?!?!? But to make it worse... I have checked my emails from Stripe and I have never received any email informing me that they have changed MY ACCOUNT SETTINGS of Radar WHICH ONLY OPEN MY COMPANY UP TO FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY. Any way of winning against these bastards?>?

I sued Stripe in May for closing my account suddenly because it was "high risk" when some people simply got declined in the mall because they never had funds on a certain card. Regardless, we had over $1,000 in scheduled subscription payments yet to be collected and almost $500 in collected funds that hadn't been paid out and were put on reserve. All of this happened as soon as they closed the account for potential fraud and said we would get the $500 after 90 days if people don't dispute those charges. That way they can cover themselves in the event of a dispute. They never released these funds as they responded to the court saying I was trying to cash scam peoples credit cards. When I responded with proof of my business, our mall contact, and our product suppliers and receipts of us buying our product, they had no response weeks after giving the impression in pretrial court that they would offer a settlement if they found a mistake was made. These people literally scam businesses out of their hard earned money and clients buy holding credit card funds for themselves and as they put it "have every reason to close any account at any time so long as they determine suspicious activity on the account. Stripes lawyer, Doug Alvarez is also well informed in their schemes and plays right along pretending he's doing something and like an innocent misunderstanding may have happened. No this is malicious theft premeditated to steal small businesses hard earned revenue. STAY FAR AWAY!

They told me for 2 weeks my bank account was wrong when it was 1000% not wrong. I called 3 times, and they verified my bank account was correct but yet I still have no money in my bank. Then they said they fixed it, yet it will still take 2 more days to get the money. When they told me how much I would be getting it's $2,000 USD less than what I'm owed. The customer service person couldn't explain to me why they were going to only pay me $8,000 in stead of $10,000! I have to wait another 24 hours to speak to a manager! UNREAL! STAY FAR AWAY!
