I was unable to be near my original debit card listed for payments. I tried to change the information to another card. There is supposed to be a button that specifically says"I don't have access to my card" at this time. That button didn't show up on my account and after 2 days, 7+ emails, 4 attempts to speak to a live human person, 3 emails back telling me to talk to the other support person I am still no closer to being able to change my information in their site do the payments still just go to the wrong account...So very, very frustrated with this site.
I purchased an ice maker back on July 15th and I still.havent received it! They keep giving me excuses after excuses! I was told at one point it was delivered to me! When I checked, it said it was delivered to some place in Quebec! I told them my address is in Ontario! Gave my address again and they said I will get it soon! That was in November!
Very pathetic payment gateway. A customer filed a complaint to his bank that we did not give him the service he paid for. They immediately returned the money to the bank and gave me the option to dispute it.
The dispute gives you only 1 shot and you have to share as much information as possible. Keep in mind, there's no SOP they follow to collect accurate information.
I gave them a ton of proof including the report, invoices, chats, etc. and they said they would get back to me in THREE MONTHS.
As you may have guessed, they just said Sorry your dispute is rejected. And poof, my money went into thin air. They do so much KYC on the business that uses them. WTF do you know about the guy who filed the complaint? Jack ****.
Next, one day they decided to disable my account due to KYC and I had to share my national ID with them again. I used the same copy that they had initially approved, it got rejected. I got a new scan, it got rejected for not being clear enough. I went to the government portal and extracted a digital ID, they said its been altered. I've lost a ton of business because of them. $#*! you Stripe.
Start by looking through the comments: You'll find a consistent refrain of poor/nonexistent customer service and more importantly, holding small business owners' money hostage. My experience with Stripe, in a nutshell, sucked. It was very easy to set up an account and start taking payments, but in only a few days, I got a notice that my business -- in spite of a fifteen year track record with no complaints or refund requests -- was not "eligible" for Stripe's services. They refused to release the money they had already taken from my customers, and gave me a six month run-around, passing me around to various tech support and customer support emails, with absolutely no help except to resend their "terms of service" over and over and over. Look at the number of other small business owners who have gone through exactly the same thing, and ask yourself: As a small business owner, do I really have time and energy to fight with a company like Stripe? Run for another payment processor -- before trying Stripe, I used Paypal Business for years with zero problems. Stripe exists to scam small business owners, and if you want evidence, look at the fact that you CANNOT get in touch with a human being.
We have a problem with Stripe.
Launched a business. We were notified that they weren't ready to work with us and offered colleagues.
Collegues wrote that within 2 weeks we can continue to use the services of Stripe and receive money.
We did what was said. Requested withdrawal of funds to your account. And we have been waiting for a response for about a month.
To our questions about when the withdrawal will be available, offers to provide additional data, the company answers badly.
Each time a different person answers. They write meaningless words - wait a little more. Without any specifics.
We have warned... that we will be forced to follow the path of complaints about the service due to such disrespect for customers. We were not answered. We ask Stripe to rectify the situation urgently.
For new users - your money on stripe accounts is not yours!
The company doesn't have a working support service!

Total SCAM, Do not rely on the good reviews on this website because they're all fake, do your research and stay TF away from this company. They will 100% hold your money and make it the most stressful process to retrieve it. Do your research and do not use them! They have only BAD reviews!
I have given them all the information they needed, I have 1 txn. 0 disputes and refunds. I tried this service ONCE, and now they're holding 5k of my money for 120 days, which they're 100% not ALLOWED to do!
They just make up some dumb excuse as to why they intend to hold it, "it's a high-risk account" BS
My first and last experience with this terrible company that can't provide a straight answer and withholds my funds from me. Absolutely disgusting behavior.
As I said, do your research and you will see there are hundreds if not thousands of people in the same position as me, the deeper I look into this company, the worse it gets.
I can't stress enough, DO NOT USE HIS SERVICE, Read all the good reviews on this website carefully, you will see that it looks like bots wrote everything.

They people allow you to make account as sole proprietorship & ask some verification that is mentioned in before signup.like SSN,ID,Realtime SELFIE,License.
After that once you charged the amount they will move with new verification that is not mentioned & hold the account & ask for web control verification.
I have done that,here after their system block my client payment & then they just replied me that you made unauthorized payment.
I show them conversation that client made this payment upon their approval.
But after reviewing they just take my test payment client payment & charge the commission.
They are mailing money in this way & wasting time & money of people.
I think procedures should be cleared mention before the signup.
They are doing complete scam with people.
Now I will help people to advise the real thing they will ask & give you guidance so all people can save themselves from this scam company.

Everything was working fine with my Stripe account for a year. Then, all of a sudden, they say my uploaded company document don't prove I'm a beneficial owner, even though it says so on the document. The strange way I've been treated by customer service, the lack of logic in the request, and the fact I still can't get my income despite uploading all kinds of official proof, made me start researching if Stripe is scamming people. I found plenty of evidence, like on this site, and many others. I'm collecting evidence that Stripe is in financial trouble and so is making up FAKE reasons why they have to keep people's money. Don't use their service, and if you DO use it now – BUYER BEWARE. Get your money out of there as soon as possible and use another service.
Had a rocky road at first but these guys turned around and did a really great job after everything seemed like it was just going to be pointless they fixed everything once I contacted the support team they realized the mistake was made and fixed it immediately these guys have my respect
Worst payment processor ever, they can shut down your account, block your money whenever they want for whatever reasons. Highest fees, slowest payment time and no guarantee when they'll block your account. They have 300 pages of TOS so you have no rights whatsoever, it's a proper scam. My company name Cairna Collective FZ LLC, they allowed me to use Stripe until I was getting smaller payments and as soon as I got bigger payments they froze the money without refunding it to me or the vendor - a red hand theft. One of my company activities was considered 'restricted' as per Stripe TOS. My question to them is why would they allow me to use the account for 3-4 months without blocking earlier? Why did they even accept my registration? Why block it now once my business grew WITHOUT refunding the money to either parties!
I have been dealing with them for a week now on a problem caused by them. I use the contact link, no one calls back. I send numerous emails, no one responds. They have now moved to steal money from our account with no proper communication whatsoever. If you have not started using a cc processing company, DO NOT use Stripe. They are absolutely useless.

The non-profit I work for has used stripe for a couple years. Until now its gone just fine. A staff person accidently charged the wrong card a significant amount but they caught the mistake immediately and canceled the charge. Within 10 minutes. Stripe will not refund the service charge nor will they even come close to repsonding to our complaint. We would gladly pay a recovery fee of $50 to $100 but to charge us nearly $2,000 as if the transaction was completed is unacceptable. Stay away from Stripe.
Stripe has blocked my account from payouts for more than 1 month. Same sort of issue was solved with PayPal in less than 24 hours.
It is more than 1 month ago, i provided all the documents they asked for. They just kept asking for more and more documents. All was provided instantly. Since then, customer service is sending us in circles. Not solving the issue, even it is a simple issue.
This stripe account is being used to collect money to humanitarian aid for innocent victims of war in Ukraine. I have all the nescessary licenses from the goverment, which has been submitted to Stripe more than 1 month ago.
Since then, the customer service sends us in circles every day we contact them. Not even an explanation. This is the second time they shut down our account and refuse to open it, despite we send them the nescessay documentation as requested.
On the other hand, our organisation was victims for identity theft. Some scammers took our identity and used it to scam money from innocent people. This was reported to Stipe more than 2 months ago, and the have still not reacted to this.

BEWARE OF STRIPE! THEY ARE EXTREMELY SHADY AND JUST TOOK MONEY OUT OF OUR BANK ACCOUNT. They almost bankrupted our business. Our private keys were leaked somewhere, no fault of our own, and someone tried to do card testing using our keys. All of the payments were blocked due to our diligence, but stripe froze our account and started blocking all of legitimate payments. No one at stripe would ever help us or give any information regarding how long it would take to get our account running again. We called every day and could never get any information other than a special team was working on it. They also decided to debit our account over $2,000 dollars and just took it out of our bank account. They were very unprofessional and just hung on up us on the phone, wouldn't respond to emails, and caused our business to be at a standstill. They have acted extremely shady and unprofessional, and we would never use them again under any circumstances. After two weeks of no response, we decided to use another payment processor.
Terrible customer service. No ability to contact customer service via phone. Placing your money in a reserve fund for 90 days without consultation. We question the financial stability of Stripe due to these actions. Just waiting for a class action lawsuit against them. Best advice we could give - stay away. Spend your time on your business rather than on this credit card processor.

I've gotten the runaround.
They are holding $7,400 hostage in a refund for a client. Thank you, Stripe, for ruining trust with our client. I was promised it would be refunded by now...so far today is the 20 day mark (15 business days). Never using this company again. Their policy says 5-10 business days...obviously they don't care about their own policy.
This is very fraudulent behavior that Stripe is engaging in. They withdrew the money from our account over 2 weeks ago and have not released it to the client.
I cannot count how many times I've called them. They give the illusion of being helpful by having a rep answer very quickly...but it does no good when that rep can't even do anything and they keep telling me "I will have to email this to our tier 2 support because they don't operate via phone" then I get an email with no explanation but "you can expect it in a few days".
Miraculously I was able to get ahold of a supervisor...but this did nothing either. He told me "I assure you, you will receive your refund within 24-48 hours)...this was last Thursday! It's end of day Tuesday while I write this.
Complete incompetence and fraudulent behavior. This is a BAD company. Do not do business with them.
This is the only reason to do business with them: If you want to ruin your reputation with your high-value client. Other than that...look elsewhere.
Dear Stripe, when do you plan to issue the refund? You've already taken the clients money, taken our money...and where exactly is this money? Just sitting in your bank account? Do you realize how much money we have lost trying to get you to do your job?---calling probably who knows how may times; definitely over 10, emails...AND LOTS AND LOTS OF WASTED TIME.
Will you also reimburse us for our time taken to get this job complete? Holding people's money and making them do your job for you is a sure-fire way to ruin morale and waste resources.

Due to so called high risk business something its not they are holding up over 7000.00 not one client asked for money back so they are indeed holding on to our money and need to be stopped!

Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction.
