Stripe is the BIGGEST SCAM.
THEY WILL APPROVE THE ACCOUNT FIRST OUTRIGHTLY & ONCE THEY SEE FUNDS IN YOUR ACCOUNT, WILL CLOSE THE ACCOUNT & KEEP THE FUNDS WITH THEMSELVES.
THEY WILL EMAIL YOU THAT THEY ARE REFUNDING BACK BUT WILL NEVER REFUND & BLOODY FEED THEIR FAMILIES WITH IT.
Very poor service we open an account and send a link to our first client to take payment from the card. Client paid with a card and payment was easily charged after they asked us for a few company registration documents we provide documents and stripe reply us they can no longer support our business now we are waiting for payment in our account they are not transferring to us and not even refunding to cardholder they are not supporting business they are trying to destroy a business.
Do not work with them. I repeat, do not work with them. They will legally steal your money. They work with the banks together to do you dirty. Be ware
For the fees Stripe is charging, this site should be user friendly and have excellent customer service. Instead, its pages are difficult to navigate and understand. Live support is available, but solutions are weighty, time consuming, and not intuitive. A lot could be done to improve UX.
I've used stripe for credit card payments for years. I've even used them for capital loans. I've never had a charge back until recently. They deducted the funds from my band account which was expected until the dispute gets resolved but then disabled the instant payout feature as a penalty. For all the money you've made off my business, deduct the charge back funds with no issue and then penalize a longtime customer by removing a feature on my account is the reason I will use another company moving forward.
I was trying to start my own company, I used stripe as a CC processor for my clients. I finally started getting business, invoices were getting paid. All payments cleared without an issue I was stoked! Go to cash out my money to my business account so I could pay bills associated with my business. Stripe tells me I'm to high risk, after taking money from my clients, having their money clear after weeks. Then tell me they are refunding all of my processed CCs, on services which were already rendered. Stripe does not allow phone calls, only email communication. They refuse to explain why I am high risk ( No payments on my account were ever returned). I operated under all their business principals as requested. Nobody will contact me and explain why out of the blue I am blacklisted or how I'm suppose to recover the money they already took from my clients. Now I'm out 1000 dollars and my business will likely fold. They should not be allowed to do business with anyone. There should be a class action lawsuit against stripe.
I would not advise anyone to use Stripe services, here is my reason.I opened a business account 3 months ago and at the time of opening the account I was asked for a website link to confirm that my items I am selling are not high risk. Now after 3 months and more than 200 sales suddenly my account get closed and I was informed the items I am selling are high risk.It took them 3 months and almost 200 sales later to determine this. And at the same time I have been informed that all current payments received will be refunded to buyers, regardless if I shipped or not.In my view this is a high risk payment method.Think very carefully before using Stripe and look for alternatives instead.
I had an account with those scammers, they closed it even though our business is on the allowed list of businesses and we had 1 refund in all that period, one day they decided to close it out of nowhere saying it posed high risk of chargebacks
Those scammers have been holding my money for almost 150 days now more than the requested 120 days and each time they postpone and reply with bot messages, I sent a request to the Better Business Bureau and will start legal actions with a lawyer against the scamming operation in the shadows
I applied for an account with Stripe…
I applied for an account with Stripe yesterday.
They restricted my withdrawal to my bank.
The purpose is to get more info from me.
I submitted all the info to them, but the Account department requested more until I asked to provide the LOGIN CREDENTIALS of my master reseller panel.
This pissed me off!
It looks precisely like they want to steal my account.
Very dangerous.
Don't go for Stripe.
My 2 cents of advice
Thanks
After several payments went through with failed CVC numbers, yip they make your put it in but they dont check it, they were tagged as fraudulent by, as stripe say, the card holders bank - My customers contacted their bank and they both said the card is still active and has no flags on any transactions so they cannot help. Both were ANZ debit cards with wrong CVC put in.
A long 28 days, after providing proof of delivery and customers details which match the name on the card... I lost the dispute. Even with the customers emails attached. The documents say the evidence is "compelling" but the bank ruled it "card picked up" so why didn the bank cancel the cards - both customers say cards are fine and working.
Turns out you have to pay extra for them to run a rule to check the CVC number is correct - WTF - some security they have
All I can say is stripe might be slightly cheaper than paypal, but at least paypal so their job
It is fake, i never recive my package, but they recive my money, they always have excuses, I will never order from them
I had been using stripe for many years without issues until recently. I have had a reserve account to cover funds if we received any charge backs. Stripe says the will use this account in that case but do that opposite. I've tried over the last few months to explain issues with them and we have reach no resolution. Supervisors don't return calls and they are still holding my money even after I stopped using them for processing. Save yourself the headaches and just stay away from this service
I've been on support with them for hours with nothing but formulaic responses that have provided very little information. They let me set up an account send an invoice and receive a payment. Now they are saying my business isn't valid and are holding my funds. I have provided them with all appropriate business documentation, and still have not received any help. Hope this story saves someone else some trouble. Thanks.
Just bad customer service and I never leave reviews. You cannot call them, and emailing them sometimes they don't understand what you mean.
This company will return any charges even if the customer got what they ordered. Then they close your account and keep the money for months. You can't even talk to a live person after they close your account. Its crazy if you ask me and I don't know how they would get away with that.
I used stripe for a month but decided to go with another company as Stripe doesn't offer credit card reading equipment, just an app that only takes a picture of a cc if it is a raised letter type card (90% are flat) So it's mostly keyed in transactions.
I went with another company for my cc transactions that turned out to be no better than Stripe, but they had a good chip reader. Which got damaged or was faulty, and they had none in stock for four months, which caused me to violate the agreement of 80% ipped and 20% keyed transactions. So they canceled my account.in the middle of a very busy event for me. So I dusted off my Stripe account, did a 10 dollar test and it went through. I sent an email to Stripe asking if my account was still active, and they said all was well.
3600 dollars in transactions later, they decided I am a "High risk merchant" for having a lot of charge backs (they said circa 1500 of the 3600 were chareged back) I have a lot of repeat customers and they informed me that they never charged back, and my ten dollar test charge was also returned, but not because of me or my bank,
Long story shortened, they are holding 3600-1500, so circa 2100 and told me they would put a hold ont he funds during the "Chargeback phase" of 120 days. That period has ended and they still give me form emails that they are very sorry to hear about my troubles, but my funds wiull continue to be held during the review process>>
This is not a credit card processor, stripe is theft machine that takes your money when you feel safe and relax and start large transactions that's when they get you. And take all your money they took 2,000 from me,we need a law
Suit
I changed my bank information of my strip account in order transfer my money to another bank. But they suspended my strip account.
After that they refund all of my money to my custoremers and sent an email to me and said
" After conducting a review of your account, we can no longer support your business as it exceeds our risk tolerance, as determined by a combination of local regulatory requirements, commercial partnerships, and other pertinent factors.
Effective today, you will no longer be able to accept transactions on your account. We intend to refund the payments currently held on the account back to the cardholders"
WHY?
I googled the review about strip, there are a lot of people that strip did something like this with them.
They are scam
Please do not answer: we are sorry, Please email *******@stripe.com
I did that, they did not do anything.
An online shop and Stripe took me ******* USD and does not want to give me.
They say that my business is of high risk, but I have never had any problem. It is a shame for the USA Authorities that they do not lead the Mafia of Stripe in Prison. Stay away from Stripe. They are CRIMINALS and Big Scammers.
They will not under any circumstances even attempt to work things out i sent my id through email and they still wont give money to me so i gave an item away for free contacted them multiple times and the same ol same ol.Due to the current status of your account, we won't be able to pay out the remaining balance on your Stripe account at this time—these funds will be held in reserve to fund any necessary refunds or future disputes. That being said, any remaining funds in your account will be processed to your bank account once the 120 days period has passed.
We appreciate your understanding. If you happen to have questions, please do not hesitate in reaching us out again.
Best regards,
Best regards? Ha

Answer: Hi Jon, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with disputes -- they can be frustrating! Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction. It can be tricky for even experienced businesses to understand how to handle a dispute, so we've spent time documenting the various circumstances under which a payment can be disputed, and how best to handle each -- I'd recommend taking a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes to learn more. Please also take a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes#how-can-i-prevent-disputes to learn more about preventing disputes. I hope this helps shed some light on our approach here. Again, I'm sorry that dealing with disputes are frustrating. Stripe actively dedicates resources to making this problem better and, over time, go away entirely. We can certainly look into your account and these specific disputes, if you'd like, if you send us a message at https://support.stripe.com/email.
