I was just notified from a company I was planning to order S9 Bitcoin Miners from that they are no loner able to take the order through their stripe and their funds have been seized for 45 day due to Stripe. I thought this was a free economy. I should be able to do what I want with my money and not have some third party tell me what I can and can't do. Banking institutions are scared of blockchain and the freedom it represents. Poor management and customer support from Stripe on this issue when I tried to contact them direct letting them know I indeed authorized this purchase.
Stripe is the worse company ever, Please think twice before getting their services, you get no protection from them and you will lose alot of money for trusting them.
I have been selling since 2009. I have been using paypal all the time until I decided to give a stripe a chance. For many months everything was going great.
On 2017, I received about 907 payments on paypal and about 175 on stripe. One day I received a payment for $153 from a customer from Italy. I checked on stripe system and the payment seems to be fine. I even waited one week to ship the items. I shipped out 10 items worth $80.6 weeks later the customer reported the transaction as fraudulent. So ridiculous to think a normal human being do not bother to check their bank account.
In less than 24 hours stripe withdrawn the money from my bank account. I tried to respond to such chargeback and stripe lame system would not let me upload any pictures. I tried chroome and firefox. I tried two different computer and still not able to add those pictures to my "case". I contacted striped and demanded answers as they claim their system is safe for payment processing, That is totally FALSE and people can pay with stolen credit cards and stripe won't bother to send any alert. The last customer support rep I chatted with said This conversion is not productive and closed the chat. When you confront them, they still stop communicating with you. At least paypal has phone customer support and you can talk to a live person and they willl help you with the charge back. Stripe do not assume any responsibility. All they say is they can not fix or help and you have to deal with the bank. What bank if you do not get any info of the bank where the charge back was filled from.
So I lost the charge $ 153 plus stripe charged me $15 for a feee and $ 80 of my merchandise. The scammer must be laughing and how easy they scammed me.
Go with paypal or square. They are decent companies and they are least care about thier customers.
Stripe offers ZERO protection to sellers. I am a small seller and can not afford to give away my merchandise just because stripe is not doing their homework. Their system is weak and not safe at all.
My business runs on subscriptions. Stripe makes it simple and affordable (by comparison with fees) to create an account and manage subscriptions. There are issues with notification and how to capture those subscribers whose CC are outdated or fail to charge. Better notification would make it easy to realize earlier and do so without so much manual labor. Daily notifications on incoming charges posted to my email is nice. Dashboard is nicely set up.
They are the worst, a complete scam. NEVER USE STRIPE. They kept clawing back money months after the order was placed and shipped. Even after providing DHL Tracking number they took thousands of dollars. MORE THAN BITTER EXPERIENCE. THEY ARE A FRAUD!
I got two £10 charges on the same day from Stripe: one from a site I recognised, one from something called monzo.com, which I had never heard of. They refused to reverse the monzo one and refused to tell me which of the two payments was which, despite me providing them with all the information they had provided my bank. As they could not offer evidence that either of them was genuine, I was forced to tell my bank to reverse them.
Scam company, would not recommend using them, lost way too much money fro their deal with the devil, if you have a business know that stripe not only not defending you they take money from your account and transfer it to scammers - scammers can just go to their bank say they never used your service and thats it they get their money back - i dont want to name other companies so you think im promoting someone but others will defend you.
I have provided hard evidence including contracts invoices ID SSN you name it, always they find some excuse of ripping you off
They tell you every time they steal your money you can do things differently but you really cant
Just think that the scammers bank decide who wins is that a joke or what
I just signed up with this company. The 7 day rolling period I understand that. This is where things get my blood boiling, I have been waiting now going on 3 weeks for my deposit. They keep pushing the date out I have sent 5 emails to this company with there saying "we will get back to you within 24 hours" my a** I have not heard 1 word from this company as to why they are still holding my money. Til this very second I cant get a answer. I have filed a claim with BBB and my attorney is filing a clai. NEVER NEVER will I refer this company in fact I have told everyone I bank, and work with SERVICE IS BEYOND WORDS CAN SAY. Holding people's money for your own gain!
Signed up with stripe 3 months ago. Since then I had 2 fraud payments which left me about 500 dollars down. On top of it they charge me 15 dollars every time there is a dispute. Was with another credit card processor for 15 years, no such problems. Switched to stripe as I wanted to avoid the monthly fees I was paying the other card processor, but I paid these fees 10 times now. My advice, just stay away.
Stripe took money out of my debit card fraudulently. I disputed it with my credit union. My credit union investigated and denied my claim. Guess what? It was for a chiropractor, which I have never used any chiropractors because they are quacks. And guess where the chiropractor is located? South Carolina. I live in the SF Bay Area and have never been to South Carolina! I made a complaint with the local BBB and filed a complaint with the City and County of San Franciscos fraud division. Next stop is the CA Attorney General. I will also contact the chiropractor on Monday in order to chase the chiropractors version down.
I am the founder of a successful SF tech start-up so know my way around the start-up world. These principals of Stripe are clearly incomplete and perpetrate fraudulent practices.
On top of everything, no telephone number - only an online form that cannot be filled out because the spaces are grayed out.
They do not have any kind of insurance, so if your customer uses a fraudulent way of payment they won't ever try to help you. That will be a lost for your business. That is totally unfair if you think in the amount that we paid Stripe for every transaction. I am absolutely disappointed.
They will tell you your business is high risk after your second payment. Then they will hold you funds and never pay you.
They emailed me Sunday and told me they were no longer accepting my business and that inhadb3 days to move my clients but that they'd help me move processors. They went radio silent for 3 days now I'm left with payroll and bills to pay because they won't help me upload my client's profiles to my new gateway all while declining any payment from my clients. Stripe is in the business of ruining businesses not helping them.
Steer well clear of Stripe. We had a customer use a stolen card on our online store and we shipped the goods to that address as everything matched, yet Stripe just deduct the funds straight out of your bank account as the custoner reports the transaction fraudulent.
Stripe then hide behind a "3 month investigation" whivh turns up nothing, despite the fact I have proof of goods delivery as well as the customer invoice. They even slap you with a $25 fee for the privilege of having your money stolen.
Do not use. Ever.
Well after 6 month of complete stress we got part of the money I find it hard to imagine how this company is still in business really taking people's money and telling you all sorts of things not to pay you out and of course very clever not to have phone numbers so all you get is computer response not humans
There was a article in the Mirror of how clever the brothers where and the youngest billionaires well it's easy on other people's money I guess this is a high level ponzi and you can be lucky for even a few yours but it seems they catch everyone in the end large or small I know over 200 people contacted the Mirror who are following up the complainants made buy those people and I hope they expose them before more people are plunged into debt as a result of Stripe holding money for 6 mths or more with hour good or factual evidence
Stripe scam my money, I have an new account on stripe and I have around usd$8500, I update little information to my domain and they say the account change and I can't get back money, but my account bank name user name is totally same, I have finish order and no any charge back or any dispute, they reject to give me money and didn't reply my email too, it is a cheating company, no trust them
WE NEED TO SUE THE CRAP OUT OF THESE MONEY-LAUNDERING THIEVING CROOKS!
They are using their employees as scapegoats and fraudulently holding payments and closing accounts using their "bank" as an excuse. These people are so full of S*** it's not even funny.
They should be hung or burned at thew stake like the old days for stealing or "holding" probably millions, maybe even billions of dollars from people just trying to make a living selling online and THEIR CUSTOMERS
They also offer no support and don't even have a phone number to call
Don't believe a word they say on their website because it's all BS
They will not pay out in 2 days and then they will not even pay out at all!
They have every excuse in the book to STEAL YOUR MONEY and even worse, you will send your customers their orders and be stuck with even LESS than they are holding!

My company just sign up with stripe and everything was moving smoothly just it was taking 10days for each payout batch. When we contact them they reply us and said they cannot work with our company. First of all, they didn't let us know at front.
The Worst Credit Card Processing ever, they blocked My 2 Stripe Accounts for no reason at all and the reason why? Nothing (your account balance will be placed on reserve for the next 90 days,) actually they don't have any reason to do that, i have 0 disputes, and 0 risky payments because of their RADAR feature which is useless if they handle the risk and get your account blocked after that lol.
I don't recommend you guys to risk your business with those guys until if you want your earnings get blocked for 90 days.
I have utilised 'STRIPE' due to the collection of credit card payments via 'WAVE' and it has been a debacle!
For months now I have not been able to receive the thousands of dollars in credit card payment into my bank account! For the multiple emails sent between 'STRIPE', 'WAVE' and my bank the issue still has not been resolved!
With no phone contact and the ability to talk to someone has been a bane; though for this company to hold onto my funds, earn interest and not make the payment has been exceedingly underhanded and purely unprofessional.
There is no way in the world that I would recommend this organization to handle anyone's finances!
Look else where and be careful!

Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction.
