Attention! Do not work with Stripe! Be careful! Stripe are scammers! They steal their customers' money by withholding it and not paying out without justification! The only thing they write is that your account is not eligible and do not respond to emails and turn off the chat function of your account and do not let you call customer service.
Take a look at Stripe's profile on BBB and you will see that hundreds of others have the same problem with Stripe and are complaining because their money is also being withheld by Stripe.
Stripe will close your account for no reason other than they deem you business as being "risky". I had a customer ask for a refund so I process it and then strip immediately starts holding my payouts. Then they ask me to give more information about my business, take pictures of all my inventory, itemized invoices, etc etc. Then with no explanation decides that my clothing store is too high risk somehow and I can't get my money that's sitting in my account for the sales I made. I can't even refund payments. They are literally holding my money for 180 days, after my payouts have already been on hold for over 2 weeks. I've lost customers because of this and it has hurt my business. Please do not use stripe, it is hard enough being a small business was in these times and stripe does not support us.
Don't use this company as a processor. They are the worst. They make up stories on why they can't release your money to you. NO LEGITIMATE REASONS WHAT SO EVER. They are over priced and offer limited options and of course you don't get your money for two weeks. DON'T USE THEM.
I am a dog sitter on the largest dog sitting website. They changed their payout from PayPal to direct deposit to personal bank accounts with Stripe processing the transactions. I'm owed almost a thousand dollars and have no idea when/if I will receive the money I'm owed.
Due to a stalking issue my username on the dog sitting site is different from my legal name. Stripe keeps reverting my payout details to my user name, regardless of how many times I change it. Obviously my bank can't process it without my legal name. I've been owed for two weeks and see no resolution in sight.
Beware of any company working with stripe! They represent Companies like TESUP Canada who are total frauds! They do not research companies enough before taking them on as clients and are working with crooks!
Our account was closed because they thought we were selling unapproved pharmaceuticals. We are an auction company selling comic books and baseball cards. We couldn't get them to understand that. The worst company I have dealt with maybe ever. I would not recommend them to anyone.
I have an authentic new and pre-loved women's designer clothing, shoe, and accessory e-commerce store and use Shopify. Stripe is Shopify's main credit card processor, which is free to use. However, If you do not use them, Shopify charges 2% of each sale! I designed my store and added almost 300 items. Which was very time-consuming. After a few days, I received a letter from Stripe stating that they will not support my store as they consider it "high risk." I had to contact them to find out why. As crazy as it is, they have no phone number! You literally have to use chat or email. After going back and forth because at first, no one could tell me why they finally informed me that my store contains designer brand names that should not be resold. Please keep in mind that many of these items are either second-hand or bought directly from surplus outlet centers and I make sure there is not a resell clause. It is no different than 6PM, Overstock, eBay, consignment, etc. There are literally thousands of stores exactly like mine that use Stripe. Okay, if this is their policy, why could they not have had this information available prior to all of my work putting the store together? Now I have to pay $30 monthly for a different processor as well as 2% of my sales to Shopify?
We used Stripe for an online auction fundraiser during Covid. We have been waiting over a year to get our money. They have $1500 that we raised for our high school PTA. They are keeping money away from kids. THE WORST.
I've had the same issue two years in a row now because my job uses them. They say they only issue tax documents if you exceed 200 payments and $20,000 in a year. I was certain I did, but received no documents. I reached out. After several fruitless exchanges, they finally claimed I didn't meet the threshold and provided a link where I could see the pertinent payments. I clicked it, and it specifically showed I met the threshold. The guy didn't even bother looking at the information he sent me. He concluded his email by telling me to reach out if the exported data showed I met the threshold - again showing he didn't even bother to look.
Pathetic and very dangerous, small business and independent business never open account with stripe
Every month I have to beg them to release my money that's in my dash board. This is a terrible company and I'm now looking for another company to use.
If you are smart you will not use STRIPE.
This company is a scam company! I've reached out to this company several times to cancel my account & I keep getting the run around! Their known for doing fraudulent business by making fraudulent charges on accounts, withholding statements & holding your PERSONAL INFORMATION hostage saying there's no way cancel an express account! No supervisor has called to address the issue they reply saying the same thing which doesn't help delete my account. NEVER trust a company who does fraudulent business & has no integrity! The reviews on here are not lies I have e-mails to prove this company is definitely the the worse I've ever done business with.
So I changed phone numbers not knowing about the two factor authentication on my log in. I have been trying to contact them because they are holding my 1099 from me so I can't do my taxes. The only thing I've gotten from them are the cryptic generic messages. This has been a very frustrating week because I try to do my taxes early so I don't have to worry about it. But now with the laziness and incompetence of the support I have to constantly wait until I receive word my account has been unlocked.
If I could give this service a negative star review I would. They ran me in circles while I tried to get $70 from my account. First they claim my listed website is incomplete and demand another verification of my existence and what I sell, so I linked them to my Instagram that hosts my work. I was then sent an email saying they were closing my account for selling "digital currency" (NFTS/crypto) when I made no such claim on any part of my profile or website.
They didn't even take 1 second to actually review my account and actively told me to go screw myself.
Do NOT use this service if you are an independent artist because they will make false claims about you to prevent you from making a profit off your legal works.
I got an email that a customer used a stolen credit card. Not only was I forced to refund the money (not even taking into account the fees I paid), I also had to pay an extra $25 as punishment for someone else's crime! It is not my fault that a customer used a stolen credit, just like if I owned a physical shop and someone paid with stolen cash, that is not my problem. My job is just to accept the payment and ship the goods. I am now looking for another provider.
Non stop Annoying texts!, Don't support any of their products. Extremely bad company! Will constantly miss use your phone number and send you so many worthless annoying texts.
We really need small businesses to stop using such a garbage program. It never accepts debit cards or apple pay, despite both being valid payment methods. Hidden behind well-designed UI lives true garbage and a horrible program. NEVER use this.
Stripe sent an incorrect tax document to the IRS and won't respond to 17 emails I've sent! They don't list a phone number nor offer chat. They responded to a negative review I left on another review site, with an email to send my request and they still don't respond!
Denied me and my customer hasn't been refunded so I never got paid! My time is money, I did the work and am still waiting on your end to refund my customer so he can pay me.
Tried to contact chat support for at ~4 times today, when you talk to them you sometimes feel the just hired some cheap workforce in the street to answer your question. For simplest questions that you can find the answer in google in 5 minutes, they waste at least an hour of your time and in the end will tell you they will email you the answer.
Really frustrating service.
Answer: Hi Jon, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with disputes -- they can be frustrating! Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction. It can be tricky for even experienced businesses to understand how to handle a dispute, so we've spent time documenting the various circumstances under which a payment can be disputed, and how best to handle each -- I'd recommend taking a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes to learn more. Please also take a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes#how-can-i-prevent-disputes to learn more about preventing disputes. I hope this helps shed some light on our approach here. Again, I'm sorry that dealing with disputes are frustrating. Stripe actively dedicates resources to making this problem better and, over time, go away entirely. We can certainly look into your account and these specific disputes, if you'd like, if you send us a message at https://support.stripe.com/email.
Answer: These are the most significant crooks in the industry but they will get what they deserve I joined a group how will exposed there behavior. It is impossible that they can keep on operating and not get arrested
