Stripe is merely a payment process center. I was able to set up my account over a year ago but now they want a url, or personal information. THEY ARE THE MIDDLE MAN. Chase business account and GorillaDesk are my avenues of information yet Stripe (a payment processing company) are holding my payments because they need information I gave them over a year ago. BUYER BEWARE, THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY, I WILL BE CHANGING TO ANOTHER PROCESSING COMPANY AS SOON AS I GET MY DAMN PAYMENT!
Please everyone avoid stripe like the plague. I have a UK verified business bitsandbytes. Tech incorporated in both the UK and Malawi selling ICT Services.
Stripe has held $******* of my funds for apparently extra verification. I have provided all documentation including social media pages, pricelists, Partner certificates etc. Every email is dealt with with by a different agent who has no info. I got an email saying the review was successful yet my payments still are not being processed. When I query, I am told that I can accept card payments but payments are still under review, huh. This is a fully verified award winning business verified several times and for one year we do not have a single charge back or fraud case and no one seems to know what to do. Now our funds are held for absolutely no reason with the worst support ever seen in any company. If anyone is interested I could upload all the emails for you to see how ridiculous Stripe support is. They will even ask you to verify your identity by clicking on a link they send by email and entering your credit card details.
I've had Stripe for 2 years and never had a problem UNTIL I tried to add Ko-Fi on. What a nightmare. I couldn't get the two to connect so reached out to Stripe. The last email they sent me was that they wanted me to handwrite on a piece of paper the day's date and hold it up to a camera with my ID and take a picture of it so they could verify it was me. WTH does today's date on paper have to do with IDing me? And since I'm a 2-year ESTABLISHED user, what is there to identify?
Yet, I signed up Buy Me A Coffee and things got set up right away. AND THEY USE STRIPE. Two different tip jars, both use Stripe yet I couldn't get one to connect and needed to stand on my head to get them to even look at it, and the other didn't even need human intervention.
Stripe is lucky that their system handles the bulk of the work because their human staff suck.
A bank will help you retrieve lost money. Stripe won't. We had over $10K go missing and Stripe wouldn't do a single thing besides giving us "trace IDs" and told us to call the bank it went to.
As much as I dislike Paypal - at least they will help you recover funds.
Stripe and Square are both garbage. Credit card processors in general are a one sided industry. Customers can literally say they never purchased and get away with it and you are left holding the bag and actually get charged a penalty.
Biggest bull$#*!
This is THE worst payment platform. They are withholding my payouts stating I am high risk and that I am guilty of fraud since I sent invoices to my clients directly from their site. I have been arguing with them for weeks only to be passed off again with another generic email. There is no customer service line to talk directly to a human and resolve the issue. I am a small business and the withholding of funds is a huge issue for me. I would give this company a huge zero if possible. Save yourself tons of frustration, headaches and financial distress and use a legitimate company instead of these scammers.
Terrible experience, they stopped my payments w/o a clear reason. They asked me to verify myself, despite that I verified many times. They continued to block me. The worst is that I has products in transit for customers, that I did not receive money, customers had a payment confirmation and when I was telling them that I cant deliver, since I do not have the money, and that stripe will return the money back between 5 to 7 days nobody believed me, they thought I was cheating them. Do not work them, I still do not understand how they are legally operating.
It took me a week to get verified with them, and then once I finally did, they CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND SENT ALL MY MONEY BACK TO THE CUSOMTERS THAT ALREADY GOT THEIR PRODUCTS
Received the first 3 payments from customers on the same days and the account were closed two days after. Took forever to get money back for customers and the fee was deducted for their own mistake. The website also claimed 24/7 phone support, but even clicking from their own site, the customer absolutely have no freaking way, a phone number, to be able to contact them!
Stripe.com responded with generic instructions for identity verification through its dashboard, but none of them worked. I couldn't take a selfie with my mobile device, and as a result it closed my account after 10 days.
I emailed its support division on a daily basis, explaining I couldn't take a selfie. Stripe.com replied with the same message, but none of its advice worked. I even sent screenshots of the problem, but received the same boilerplate message from Stripe.com.
Needless to say, I'm upset the company closed my account. There is no tech support because it doesn't listen, or worse yet understand, emails from clients.
I recommend avoid using this website, if possible.
Stripe in an incompetent company. I had opened an account before but had no need to use it until a year or so later, but I found it was locked, possibly because it had not been used.
It then asked me to verify my account by supplying the date of the last two Stripe transactions. But I had never used the account, so there have been no transactions. It took me two days to get the "support" agents to understand that this method of verification could not work.
I was then asked to send a photo of my passport next to the day's date on a piece of paper, which I did. But the agent said he could not see the date (even though it took up about a quarter of the area of the image).
It took two days to convince the agent that the date was actually there, and that he could see it with his own eyes like the rest of our species.
But then he decided to tell me that I must write the date in my own handwriting!
If they had a sample of my handwriting then this would be logical to verify my ID, but they didn't. So could have got my postman to write it (for example) or anyone else.
Anyway, I sent a new photo of my passport with the date written in my own HANDWRITING.
Then three more agents got involved over the next three days asking me to do the same thing. So I sent the same image back to them each time they asked, saying that I had already uploaded this to the URL they had supplied.
I then asked them if my account had been successfully verified. They did not reply for another day or so.
Then, after I posted my review of this shambles on Trustpilot, they responded by asking me to send an email to their "special" help email address.
So I did. Five days ago.
They have not replied.
Since then I have had more of the same emails from them telling me to supply ID (exactly the same copies as before).
I just did a count of the number of emails they've sent me. It's now 31.
I still don't have access to my own account.
I cannot imagine anyone in their right minds willingly choosing to use these morons as a payment processor; they must be the worst payment processor ever conceived.
They should not be trading at all.
Zero customer service. No accountability. Do not conduct business with this company. Theft of services.
Very disappointed about Stripe business practices. They suspended our account after one month of setting it up and starting accepting payment from customers
Lucky for us that we're still in the testing mode and only used two credit cards for payment testing.
It's such a waste of time and effort to integrate this useless company stripe for nothing and headache.
Stay away and avoiding this stripe company and go with other companies to save you time and energy
You are warned
Theft by deception is when I called Stripe, although they say I'm not credible but that's because and there's only one reason they stole money from me I have proof I have pictures they say that I wasn't connected to their account the Police and Fire credit union i'm credible I wish I could've read all of these reviews I can't believe how many of them there are they're all bad really bad class action suit bad whatever I can't get in here I'll get in on social media all you Gotta do is read the reviews that's it once you're finished reading the reviews you won't wanna join Stripe anchor stay away and they're a bunch of scam artist if any of you want to get a class action suit going against stripe.com let me know direct message me oh my Twitter account MarriedNavyBrat direct message me because just for the hell of it is people need to get a taste of their own medicine stay far away from these people they don't know what they're doing because what they just did to me and to all the rest of the horrible reviews is called theft by deception and let's close his mothers down. You got to get justice i have to get justice if you want to get justice with me let's do it!
They just hang onto the money customers send you through them and then give you the runaround about needing additional "verification" in order to process your payments until you give up. I'm fairly sure this company is fraudulent.
I have been using Stripe for my business online payments since 2019 with a verified business account. Recently, they sent me an email that my account is not verified, and the payouts are on pause without any prior notice. In response to my objection, they rubbed their TOS in my face. Helpless, I started the verification process all over again with no changes in details I provided day one. The account status changed to "verified" yet they are still holding my payouts with no explanation for the past week leaving my business in financial problems and me with severe emotional distress. I have reached to support to hear "our specialist team is still reviewing your account" several times for the past week. They won't direct me to a supervisor or someone in charge and refrain from giving any explanation as to my account status. I am left with all the troubles they have caused me but their action and no one gets back to you or an explanation but some support member with no power in addressing your issues.
Please don't get me wrong! If you want in, they are all smile, help, support, etc. in the best way you could imagine, but once they want to hold your money, the disguise is off, and you'll see the real Stripe and their customer support.
I strongly recommend to stary away from Stripe at all costs.
Totally waste of time and money! I lost 200$, like wtf, i reccoment you dont choose stripe, it sucks!
With obscure reasons, Stripe will suddenly suspend and close your account and all the payments you had received will be refunded to your clients even though you had shipped and fulfilled the orders. Now I have to bear the cost of the products shipped and the shipping fees for those orders that I cant get my customers to pay me back again. They are thieves, criminals, scammers, fraudsters... Avoid at all cost! I've read bad reviews about them but I still went ahead to give them a chance and i regret it dearly. Don't let them con you.
I have been hacked to the tune of $5100, it has been 14 days and I can't get a straight answer from Stripe. Fraud will not call me and customer service has no answers other than to say they are escalating it.
Then this morning I got a verification notice at 3:48 AM. I just happened to wake up and saw it. Called Stripe and they said it came from my computer... NO, my IP address was hacked. I will no longer be doing business with this company.
I have had numerous issues with Stripe. It is impossible to speak with someone on the phone, and the reps over email and chat are useless as they just repeat the same copy & pasted information. They kept me on chat for 2 hours to tell me they were "working on it". I confirmed prior to processing client transactions that the payout timeframe would be 4 days. After the payments were processed, the payout time changed to 14 days. They had no reasoning for this and couldn't even acknowledge it was an error on their part, simply just kept saying that that's what it is now and that I have to deal with it. I am in the process of switching over to a MUCH better company with better customer service and payout times, and I would never recommend anyone to ever deal with Stripe.
Answer: Hi Jon, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with disputes -- they can be frustrating! Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction. It can be tricky for even experienced businesses to understand how to handle a dispute, so we've spent time documenting the various circumstances under which a payment can be disputed, and how best to handle each -- I'd recommend taking a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes to learn more. Please also take a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes#how-can-i-prevent-disputes to learn more about preventing disputes. I hope this helps shed some light on our approach here. Again, I'm sorry that dealing with disputes are frustrating. Stripe actively dedicates resources to making this problem better and, over time, go away entirely. We can certainly look into your account and these specific disputes, if you'd like, if you send us a message at https://support.stripe.com/email.
Answer: These are the most significant crooks in the industry but they will get what they deserve I joined a group how will exposed there behavior. It is impossible that they can keep on operating and not get arrested
