Worst Experience Ever!
September 28, 2023

Phone stopped working. Had to buy new sim cards. Customer service could not explain procedures and gave incomplete instructions. Took 6 hours and two trips to store to get phones back working. They turned off both lines. Tried to reach them through internet, told them I do not have any phone services. Rep. Told me to go find another phone somewhere to call them back at 10 pm at night. I told them I am contacting you through your online chat. Send me the verification code, I can send it back. No, can not do that. They send the verification code to my email address, it to the same email address on my account! But I cannot give it to you in chat. Nope, go out and find a phone to talk to us on. Asked for super to explain my situation. Nope. Cannot do. You turned off both my phones. I am dead in the water. No help at all. Crappy customer service. Then, you disconnect the phones and I have to pay for another month of service. So, I had to pay for two months of service on both phones to get service back. And of course, we do not refund. But you caused the issue! It is not right. You caused the issue and I paid the penalty. Then they changed the rewards of course, so now I cannot use that to at least cover one of the lines. Should have know things were going to change with Verzion. BYE FELICIA!

Complete crap
September 24, 2023

Don't bother checking if you phone is compatible- you buy it will tell you it is and then when you call to activate they tell you it's not- they also send you a SIM card that you HAVE to pay for and then tell you it's not compatible with straight talk- even though it's ordered directly through straight talk. I'm ready to leave their service already- it's a joke. Worst experience I've ever had. Why lie about things being compatible? Why not hire people who know what they are doing?! So now I'm out the money on a brand new expensive phone that said compatible on their site- but isn't when we call to activate- along with a sim card THEY sent us that we also can't use. Wasting your money and time

Unfair practices

Straight talk runs a scam. You upgrade phone and then they want 200.00 to unlock old phone. They tell you there is no supervisor available. Because you haven't had service with them on old phone they want to charger 200.00. Why would you have service if you upgraded. I wanted to give my old phone to someone in need.

Do not use this provider
September 20, 2023

Last Sunday I spoke with a straight talk customer service agent to set up service and port my existing number from another provider to Straight talk. Today is Wednesday and I have zero phone service and no other telephone options to speak with them directly. I payed for a service pin which was used Sunday during what I thought was the activation process.I just spent a hour texting customer service because I was able to find a wifi signal. Still my phone could not be activated and the only thing the agent could tell me was I need to speak to corporate. I was absolutely ripped off by this Walmart supported phone provider.I am on the road in Colorado and now have no way to communicate with my aging parents or my potential new employer who thinks I fell off the edge of the earth. This has been a hustle of deception and lies right out of the gate. Do yourself a favor and do not even consider Straight talk to provide you with any service.

Calling straight talk has always been the absolute worst part of using their service. Their customer support has always been awful. But they found a way to make it much worse. Their reps are much more open about their impatience now and will just hang up on you. After waiting for 10 to 20 minutes on hold you get to beg them to help you and hope they will not make you have to repeat the process. I've used Straight Talk for over 5 years, the best part was that setup was complete and I didn't have to deal with their customer support much.
I recently tried helping a family member try switching to Straight Talk. They purchased an activation kit and I attempted to activate their phone. The website said I needed to order a new SIM card, even though there was one in the kit. So I ordered another one. Same thing, I needed another new SIM card. I've gone through this process before, I've bought and sold over 100 phones and am very familiar with them. I checked compatability, it was good. So I tried calling...
I am so done with Straight Talk. Their service sucks and their coverage in my area has gotten worse. I literally have nothing to lose by going with anyone else.

Straight talk Plan the Best
September 10, 2023

I swear there are a lot of babies and new generational complainers on here.

You can't beat their plan compared to anywhere else. Yes, service is not great. But I don't want to pay $180 a month for one phone due to convenience when I can pay $180 for two phones for 3 months instead.

I called 6 different times to fix the same problem. Every call lasted an hour with them getting no where and saying they would call back which they didn't. So ending result the 2 line card I purchased only paid for one phone line, that's 35$ down the drain. As well as 40 to purchase different service for my phone before it got deactivated! Never get any kind of 2 or more line service plan card from them!

Don't waste your money
September 7, 2023

I've had nothing but trouble with this awful shady underhanded company, by the sound of it, I'm not alone! They are anything but user friendly. Sure, you may be getting a cheaper phone & service plan, but what good is it if you can't use it for one reason or other, or ever speak to a customer service rep for help who speaks decent enough English that can actually fix anything wrong, or help with activation? I have had to contact them several times & have always been left unsatisfied with the customer service from Straight Talk. They make you jump through hoops, provide all kinds of numbers & personal information, only to then place you on a ridiculously long hold, then tell you they're unable to help you or figure out the problem. Or my personal favorite, make you repeat all of the steps all over again to another customer service rep, because the first one couldn't figure out how to assist you! Who has time & patience for this nonsense?! This is a prepaid phone, it really shouldn't be this difficult for customers! I've spent hours over the phone with them, so frustrated I almost just hung up & got rid of my Straight Talk phone on more than one occasion. Once they even tried telling me after I gave all necessary information that my numbers didn't match & accused me of stealing my own phone! This type of service is unacceptable & no one should be treated this way, especially customers who are paying for your phones & service plans. I agree with others who commented how the two line service plans also don't work & are nothing more than a scam. Whenever I was almost out of mins, I'd attempt to add a card with the 2 line plan & it was always an issue, every single time & customer service could not ever help identify the problem. I had to buy multiple cards & spend hundreds just to get more mins! Buyer beware! Do not use this company whether for personal or business use. Go with ANY other carrier for prepaid service. The phones are also extremely slow, poor quality, camera is very blurry with low quality pics/videos. Battery doesn't stay charged as long as it claims either, so you constantly have to plug it in. They don't come with nearly enough data, so you are always running out of room, even if you don't download things often, or take that many pics or vids. Super slow Internet service as well. So many reasons why you shouldn't buy or trust Straight Talk.

Get somebody else to do it. T-Mobile is better. AT&T is better and Verizon is better. I had a phone with all 3 at the same time. I ported my phone to one account from all 3 at the same time and no issues. Boost is even better. Just no Straight.

Terrible Customer Support
September 4, 2023

My husband's business phone is a Straight Talk phone. He has had this same phone number for 10 years. Yesterday, it decided that the SIM card was no longer viable. After spending an hour on the phone with Customer Service, they decided we needed a new SIM card. We were told to go to Walmart to get a new SIM card kit and call them back. I ended up having to call back several times because they kept hanging up on me while I was waiting on them to get the SIM card set up. Each time we went through the same process of making me check the old SIM card and explaining how to insert it. After spending a total of 4.5 hours on the phone, they deleted his whole account and still couldn't get it to work. I finally got the direct number to the NTP department to be able to switch my service to a different carrier. I do not recommend Straight Talk to anyone.

Pathetic phone company
September 3, 2023

Lets see always have a problem with getting my mins on for 1 thing becouse they want me to switch to verizins service they was suppose to send me a phone not once but twice and after 2 months of them suppose to do this still havnt they did my bf phone but not mine. Another i paid for service on my bf phone and the next day they turned it off expecting me to pay more money to have it turned back on so i talked to someone else about it and got extra mins for my bf ontop of them turning it back on now once my mom gets home tonight they will be hearing from me again as of they did the same $#*! to my mom after she just paid 30 days of mins last week and they shut her phone off and they wont turn it back on for her. They are crooks they will try and steal your money. And then every time i tried to log in it dont let me i ask them why and they said they i dont have a account with them this has been the 2nd time with that so all my points have been gone that i saved up. Once i get enough money we are switching. I do not recommend straight talk anymore at all. Thank you straight talk for now becoming a $#*!ty phone company.

Straight Talk no longer allows cell phone and home phone services to be managed from the same account. Thus my cell phone was kicked off my account. When customer service put it back on, my home phone was kicked off. When customer service tried to make 2 separate accounts, access was lost to both of them. Auto refill will no longer work and service ends tomorrow. It cannot be renewed manually either. Very difficult to understand customer service rep and they struggled understanding me.

I have been with STRAIGHT TALK for over 6yrs. This month, they decided to cut my data on my $55, ($60 after tax and about 4 other fees) plan. When I called, the woman couldn't even speak English, and tried telling me the phone I have isn't supported with straight talk.
When I explained my phone is an Unlocked IPhone 12 (meaning any carrier is supported) and have used 3 unlocked IPhones with straight talk since I've been with them (this one for over 2yrs) she was certain that was why. She couldn't explain why I could still text and call, and emails would still come in yet wouldn't load. I am now after 6yrs a cricket customer. Never again with straight talk! You don't get what you pay for.

I bought a 90 dollar two line phone plan and there was a "glitch" in the system, so of course it did not send me the second pin for my other line. I called and spoke to someone twice you could tell that she was reading from a script because she wasn't making any sense and couldn't understand her and she said that she couldn't help me retrieve my pin or credit my account. I asked to speak to a manager and she said that they weren't allowed to transfer calls to a manager. Basically this happened last month and still no resolution. So my take on it is that they stole my money. So beware of straight talk they are crooks!
