Will steal your money, will screw you over on customer service calls. It just isn't worth it. Go with another company. The cheapness isn't worth it at all.
I have been off and on with Straight Talk for the past 9 years and I've never really had a problem with them until the past 5 months I pay for the $55 unlimited plan with 15 gigs of hotspot I use those hotspot gigs for my work computer every once in awhile and the past 5 months I have been shut off at 10 gigs at 9 gigs at 9 and 1/2 gigs at 7 and 1/2 gigs at 6 gigs and well this month I'm at four and a half so I ended up calling the customer service and they said that I used up a full 15 gigs and I have not I know I have not, the phone that I have tells me how much data I have used on my phone plan and my Hotspot and it's never been wrong before I have been watching this go on and on and they shut it off after I called they sent a message to me saying that I used up all 15 gigs of my Hotspot data not even 30 minutes after I called they are literally ripping people off we are paying over $60 for a plan we only get about 5 gigs of hotspot on this is b******* there's other phone plans out there that is way better than this that does not shut you off before your plan is ended f*** them. I rate them a -2 stars everyone stay alert and watch your phone plan
My son had just cancelled his Straight Talk service, of which I was unaware. I thought he'd forgotten to pay it. Since I was unable to reach him, I called the automated svc line & paid $50 for an add'l month. Once I became aware of the cancellation, I called their Refunds Dept to request my Refund & THEY REFUSED to issue it, even though my payment was made in ERROR. That's called THEFT! THANK YOU WALMART! I WILL NEVER, EVER RECOMMEND SUCH THIEVES TO ANYONE!
Just set it up and we'll see how my son likes it! It'll be great for his first device that can call and text!
I ordered a new iphone for my daughter that was supposed to arrive within 1-3 business days. Tracking info over 4 business days showed "label created" but no phone even leaving the ST facility. After the 4th business day and a very disappointed 16 year old I reached out to Straight Talk. I spoke with 4 different reps, all of which just read the tracking info that I already had back to me. No one could give me a reason as to why my phone did not even ship yet. When I asked to cancel the order, the last rep (a manager) got noticeably upset and said it wasn't possible and the phone should be received within 3-5 business days even though the confirmation I have says 1-3. She said the confirmation and site were wrong and has not been updated.
If they could have just given me a reason for the delay or had some sympathy for their shortcomings I would've been satisfied. They offered no help, gave me the run around and was rude. I will certainly be moving on from Straight Talk ASAP.
Tried to transfer my # from my flip phone which I only did because they threated to cut it off, my new smart phone would not accept the transfer. Not able to make the transfer have no service on my old phone with the transfer process. After many hours with the customer service, still no service. After three days at Wal-mart (about 5+ hours) taking up their time; still no service and no way to make any calls or receive calls. After buying a new phone and buying a new service plan (because the minutes would not transfer) and paying a roaming fee to try and get my old phone to work, I AM DONE WITH THEIR $#*!! Not sure who yet, just anyone else,
I have had straight talk for many years and was very happy. So much I recommend them. However with 5G it has been nothing but frustrating! Not sure how it goes from awesome to frustrating? Would love some explanation
SMS verification codes we're not working for a week and cause a lot of problems for me. I just figured it out today and got them to fix it but they refuse to reimburse me for the past week simply because I did not call them a week ago to tell him what the problem was. How could I possibly call them and tell him what the problem is if I didn't even figure it out till yesterday. Customer service sent me around in circles and circles and refuses to give me any sort of reimbursement for paying for services that don't work.
Took me 2 days after switching to Straight Talk to get my phone working. Found out after calling them that my previous carrier had not released my phone number to Straight Talk so they instructed me to contact them and ask them to release it, which I did. Had to contact them numerous times for the rest of that day and the next day to resolve my phone's inability to send or receive MMS messages as well as its inability to access the Internet using mobile data. After a huge hassle, I was finally told that the MMS issue could not be resolved as certain Samsung Galaxy models, when switched to the Straight Talk network, no longer have the MMS feature. I was beyond exasperated with their customer service (not to mention their technical service) at this point so I stated that I wanted a refund and would be switching to a different carrier because I had no idea that I would not have the ability to send and receive MMS messages but was denied. In the process of switching carriers as I type this. Do NOT purchase Straight Talk service; you'll regret it.
Warning: stay away from this company! Straight talk have been messing with us for 6 months. They refuse to unlock the phones! You get agents on the line that hardly speak English. They refuse to unlock the phones for transfer to other carriers. We literally had to buy two new phones. Today we spent hours on the phone to unlock a 5 (five!) Years old iPhone and they say we have to pay $300 to unlock it! This is so frustrating and we've spent hours on the phone with them. Now my wife is buying a third android from our new carrier to even have connections to anything. Straighttalk is a scam!
I just bought a new straight talk iphone from Walmart. Everytime I call straight talk to add my ACP benefits to my new phone. The straight talks agent ask me a few question, then transfer my call, just for the phone to hang up everytime. I called straight talk multiple time even told them the phone keeps hanging up. Just for them to transfer me again. Then the
phone proceeds to hang up. I still haven't got my phone activated. In would recommend that consumers try a different carrier because straight talk will not help you
I have called them several times to fix the issue... Each time they hang up or put me on hold, I cannot receive calls or texts. I pay for a $15 plan I did not receive they will not give me a refund
Worse service ever. Purchased new phone May, 2021. In Sept (4 mos later), I spilled water on it. Sent it in to be replaced/ repaired in Oct. I still do not have a phone 10 mos later. The worse part is I switched to Verizon last Tue. On Th, they charged me for my monthly service even after I canceled 2 days earlier. They refuse to refund my money. I have disputed with my bank.
Dealing with this company. Has been one continuous nightmare. The call center workers are clueless, they transfer you to "hangup department " and they have my ported number in limbo. They have lied to multiple times. I bought the Sim card kit in the advice of a friend. I wish I had never done that. Run as fast as you can from Straight Talk, I should have done my due diligence before switching. I now have no phone service, and have lost my number to oblivion.
Customer Service does not want to help with any problem. Sometime you think it would be a very simple solution, however, if they have to move in any way, they will not help. I called Customer Service to please correct my name in whatever screen they needed to in order for my name to show on caller ID.
When I make a call to a landline, my name shows up entirely different than it shows on my account with Straight Talk. Customer service told me to contact all of my landline contacts & let them know "who I am". And when I make a mobile call to someone I need to identify myself as the caller. You can't make this stupid stuff up! I called several times & "transfered to their supervisor" of which never answered.
Agree. Including the f bombs. I just refilled my android phone with $45 worth of $#*!ty med to no speed data with straight talk. Videos constantly buffering, data stopping multiple times every 15 minutes & takes 3 f minutes for a page to load, are you f kidding me? I am beyond frustrated. My recent free access wireless phone had 10 times faster internet. Straight talk is f crap.
I had moved from TN. To AL. I called Straight Talk and told them to discontinue service I had left a bank account with 10k to make sure any late bills or anything unexpected turned up I was busy selling 3 houses bought 2 moved 5 times 18 mos. Later I closed the account and found S/T had not closed the account and had charged me for 18mos. And $850 I called they said I had the service I told that was because you didn't disconnect as I asked their mistake cost me $850 because I had auto pay and they hadn't disconnected service
Straight Talk is a joke. They stole a half month of my data. Then had nerve to keep hanging up on me. I'm with Cricket now and love it. Got a free phone and got to keep my number. Straight Talk is a huge ripoff.
Ok, I had StraightTalk for several years, for a fixed wireless phone. It worked for the rural area I needed it for. The problem came when needing to move to another company.
StraightTalk's web button to get a PIN to release the phone number to another company was broken, and it took in excess of 6 hours of getting bounced to various departments between Straight Talk and Tracfone® to get it straight.
Hold times are long.
They don't hire enough people to answer the phones.
Customer for 3 years. Last month had service shut off a week early during a medical emergency. This month they shut off service after 2 weeks. Called customer service and after an hour verifing all my info multiplie times and still no help! I'm done!
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
