Had an issue with my sim not connecting to my phone, I was transferred and hung up on 7+ times. The "managers" had no idea what they were saying and kept insisting that my sim would magically start working after I turned off my phone for 15 minutes and called back. I called and gave all the info on the card and account made that day and then Said they are unable to give me information on how to fix my issue because they couldn't confirm my account because the only way to was to a. Receive a text with a code (but I didn't have service that worked) b. Tell them the credit card I had used to purchase the plan (I didn't use a credit card) or c. Tell them a number I recently called or texted (I NEVER HAD SERVICE). Because of this I also couldn't receive a refund for a defective product as they couldn't "confirm my account". The "manager" refused to transfer me to anyone else and insisted that they were the only person I could talk to even though I would say my phone didn't have service and she would ask "but how many bars do you have?" None? It says I don't have a SIM card! Absolutely appalling and an absolute scam.
I am a broke college student. So when i saw the whole "...unlimited talk, text, and data on the nation's largest, most dependable 4G LTE..." spiel, needless to say i was sold. That was my first mistake. Not only have dealt with rude a** customer service who I have been in the phone longer than my own mother, but they took money out of my account after the bill had been paid! I couldn't even afford a rare 5 star dinner to chipotle :( i beg of you, spare the headache and spend your money elsewhere.
Straight talk was supposed to email me the unlock codes for my phone that I paid for.I have not been happy with their service so I am leaving they said they would email me the codes and now after 2 days with no phone I have to buy another phone so I think they should give me back my money what good is a locked phone this should not even be legal I paid in full when I bought the phone why was it Locked anyway.I'm using a borrowed phone and I have to return it I've had it 3 days and that's not enough time when dealing with this company.I really hate this place
This company has no interest in providing customer service of any kind. If you have any issues with the service too bad. The service worked poorly at best when I lived near Denver, CO. I have since moved where I have no connectivity. ST is based on Verizon and there are simply no Verizon towers in the area. This means no calls, texts or internet service outside of my home's wifi range. Once I get service as I leave town I can call and text but still no internet connection so no navigation either. I decided to try another service plan but ST will not unlock the three iPhones that I have. I even tried to have them unlock an older ST phone (1st gen SE) that they claim I never used on their service even though I purchased it outright at Walmart and used it for about 4 years on ST. Their customer service is out of the Philippines so there is no way to get help. The people there read from a script and repeat themselves over and over, they put you on hold for over an hour and keep repeating that they are working on the issue only to come back and say that there is something wrong with their system and that they will call back in twenty minutes and of course never do. I believe what they are doing is highly illegal since they lock your phone and won't release it so your only option becomes purchasing a new phone. I believe that US law enacted in 2014 directs carriers to release the phone (unlock) if the phone is owned outright which all 3 of mine are owned. I also believe this falls under the Federal law of "obstruction of telephone" as they hold your hardware hostage. They want you to wear down and sell your phone on Craigslist, eBay, etc. so that the phone stays in the system and they essentially do not lose a customer. I will dispose mine before that happens. I explained that I have been a great paying customer for over 10 years but the service does not work where I moved to. I would stay as far away from this company as possible since they apparently are not held to US law being based out of the Philippines. So now I have to repurchase two new phones as ST essentially stole my hardware. I hope the CEO of ST is aware of his company's operating policy. If he is they should remove him immediately for fraud. Please do not filter this because I do not have my receipt from Walmart. The SE 2nd generation cost me $349.00 in Oct/Nov 2020 timeframe. If it is required to post this review please let me know as I may have a way to retrieve my receipt.
Me and my wife have been with straightalk wireless for over 8 years and today I have decided that they are a bunch of theives. We purchased a phone and phone card because it had a 3 day Shipping and needed it quick, being that my wife broke hers. Anyway 2 weeks of seeing that the order was processing, we finally called them up to cancel our order. They supposedly did. However, we still got no refund and the phone was delivered to us almost 3 weeks from the day of purchase. Called again and they told us not to open it and send it back to them. We did and they received it 8 days ago and still no refund or email. So called them again, after finally getting through, they hung up on me as soon as I asked for the refund department. Called again and we spoke to a lady who argued with us, trying to tell us that the computer system issues a refund on the same day they receive it and that it takes 3 days to hit our account. I told her that it has been 8 days and she started saying that she assures us that the refund was sent and that it's the bank that hasn't credited our account because maybe they had a hold on it and we needed to contact them. I did call my bank which confirmed what I thought from the beginning, which was that they hadn't worried about taking care of my refund. The lady at the bank had us call 3 way to straight talk again and finally got to the refund department. We explained everything that has happened again for like the 8th time and as soon as we told her that the lady we talked to before her said and told her that the lady from our bank was on the line, she hung up. HOURS OF WASTED TIME FOR NOTHING! Now we have a dispute and thanks to the bank lady that witnessed the call she said her part in our dispute. So we will be getting our money one way or another. One thing is for certain. They're a bunch of theives, that only care about money and not their once loyal customers. NEVER AGAIN!
Straight Talk is horrible my husband has had straight talk for about 6 months we went to go transfer his number out to another company about 2 days ago and they have held his number hostage mind you he has had this phone number for 3 years they kept giving me incorrect zip codes to give to the new carrier as well as being very rude hanging up on me when I was trying to figure out the issue I will never use them as a mobile phone provider again
I ordered a Sim card from straight talk, with the unlimited international plan, and chose the 1-2 day shipping for 4.95 extra. It took over a week before the order was marked as "Shipped" and it still never arrived. 3 weeks later now, and I called the Straight Talk customer support only to receive a response of "I'm sorry, it's marked that you received it. Call UPS." I never received it, I wasn't even home at the time TO personally receive it. And the customer service rep said it was signed by ME. Then when I called back about 45 minutes later, the automated messages were changed so I couldn't even get through to an actual person.
Straight talk wireless continued to charge me monthly for services that I was no longer receiving. Once I contacted them with all relevant account information and transaction numbers they denied I ever had service with them. In total they refused to cancel my account and have forced me to file a dispute and stop pay with my bank to end future payments.
I was on the phone four times and never did get any results! Kept getting lied to then hung up on. If the would keep their company stuff somewhere besides the Philippines u might get some service u need help with! Didn't buy my stuff in the Philippines so shouldn't have to deal with people in the Philippines that u can't understand, they lie to u then hang up on u acting like they can't hear u. U can b talking to them then it's hello hello I can't hear you click they hang up.
I bought a phone from straight talk had it two months and the screen would not work at all called them and got three diffrent stories and a run around was told they were email a airbill never did then said they were mailing it never did was told i could go to the nearest ups store and turn it in and they would have a replacement there and that was a lie and they wont let you talk to someone higher up cause they know all there doing is lieing to you
I don't understand how so many people can complain about a service that is no contract and unlimited and cheaper that most other services! People just love to complain! Want everything handed to them.
With that said, the only issue I wish would be resolved, is I have a 5g phone, yet can never watch videos above 480p! That's ridiculous! A 5g phone should be able to play 1080 and above resolution! Other than that, the customer service could be a little better..
DO NOT GET IT! Terrible customer service! WORST THAT I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IM MY LIFE TIME OF CELL PHONE SERVICES! AND STILLLL ON HOLD AFTER AND HOUR
The help line numbers are not set up for the Moxie Home telephone base unit. Can't text from a home phone. Purchase a new LTE/4g unit and activated it. Works sporadically. Customer Reps are clueless and transfers calls several times before cutting off call. Had noe problem wit the old base unit for 12 years. Was forced to replace because the 3G network will soon be shut down. Have spent hours on calls to Straight Talk.
Bought a sim card to replace my canadian one since I was going to be in the States for an extended period.
Needed to spend 2 hours with tech support the first day in order to get data working. Called a week later because I could not make calls to Canada even though it was included in the package. Spent approximately 4 hours on the phone with tech support because when they tried to resolve the calls to Canada problem, they disabled my data. Got the data to work but not the international calls. A week later, lost data once again. Spent over 15 hours on the phone with tech support over 3 days to resolve the issue. They could not do it, although SOME agents had obviously been able to resolve the issue the 2 last times. Massive incompetence. Just decided to throw the sim card away and to make sure that everyone knows it is a $#*! company.
I have been trying for over 2 months to cancel this service since I broke my phone. I was billed again for service I'm not using this month. Finally I was able to talk with someone about my account but I could understand her because of the bad English she had. I kept asking for another person and she ignored me and kept repeating herself. I was able to get my service canceled but I was told i could not get a refund even though my phone is broken and I have not nor am I using their service. Please straighttalk employ customer service that can be understood.
As a ST customer for over ten years, I have had it w/their rude barely speaking English Reps that give terrible customer service. I have purchased poorly working phones & non working service plans that they refuse to refund, or credit. They lie about sending out sim cards & won't replace when they don't arrive. They hang up on you if they can't resolve an issue. Data settings change constantly so your phone won't work. If you use them be sure to have Tylenol handy because it's going to be a big headache!
Worst customer service. I have TMobile and trying to transfer a number from straight talk. 4 phone calls to STalk and the last call TMobile and my daughter were all connected 1.5 hours later and still no resolution of number being transferred. I'm waiting another 24hours to start the process all over, AGAIN. My advice is never knowingly use this company, they are the worst. Don't even deserve one star.
Straight talk is by far the biggest liars in the mobile phone industry. Straight talk sends a loyalty points reminder everytime I refill my account with a 45$ plan that reminds me that I have enough rewards to cover my normal 45$ service plan. Let me say, that I have been a loyal customer for approximately 10 years or so.
This month, I decided to use my points. I followed the prompts through my texts to recieve my plan. It wouldn't go through. So I called and the rep is going to tell me that after years of being a faithful and loyal customer, I don't have enough points to do anything but purchase 1gig of data. They did not care whether I switched to another phone company. A little goes a long way in business. If they offer it, they should be loyal to their texts and reward. I'm done with all of this. 10 years or so of my loyalty. Gone with lies.
Straight Talk is mandating that all users switch to Verizon service and is making it nearly impossible to port your number to a new service provider. I had to file a complaint with the FCC because they are legally required to let you transfer your number when you switch providers and they were preventing the process from moving forward. I had to call 8 times to get an agent to actually help me instead of talking over me and telling me incorrect information. Do not recommend Straight Talk Wireless even to my worst enemy.
I had tried to Port my number to this company from Assurance Wireless that was the biggest mistake I've done in my life when it comes to cell phone service.
I get government assistance so I don't have that much money to begin with they made me buy a SIM card from Walmart. Took them over two weeks to Port my number then they said I have to pay every month even though I have informed them and they know that my number is being ported under lifeline. After countless hours of being on hold and speaking to people that hardly speak English which I'm okay with that as long as the job gets done after 3 weeks they finally told me that everything is good just to wake up this morning and find my phone not working. I called customer service. And requested to speak to supervisor the answer was no no supervisor will talk to you (I wish I had recorded this call)
Fast forward 4 hours later I called FCC and filed a complain.
20 minutes ago my phone started working to make a long story short I will never recommend or use his company ever again.
Do yourself a favor do not deal with this company not unless you like to be on hold for 40 minutes at the time
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
