Stitch Fix Reviews Summary

The company has garnered mixed feedback, with some customers appreciating the quality and fit of the clothing, particularly for specific styles that resonate with their personal tastes. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, particularly the difficulty in canceling subscriptions, unresponsive support, and billing issues. Many customers express frustration over receiving items that do not align with their requests, leading to dissatisfaction with the overall shopping experience. This disconnect between customer expectations and service delivery suggests a need for improved communication and operational efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction.

The items I received were either too big or too tight, when it even gives you the option to select what particularly items you like baggy, fitted, or skin tight. Was completely not my style. I feel like I filled out the personal style interview for nothing. Items were not in the price I requested. I asked my stylist to ship me something special for my birthday and that was ignored. Don't bother with Stich Fix, it's a waste of time and money.

Abysmal Quality
July 16, 2017

Stitch fix is not for me. The concept is great, but with one caveat: that if you ship poor quality stuff, you risk putting the customer in bad mood. Twice I was left thinking: Huh this is really what the "stylist" thinks I can wear. I made it very clear that I wear J crew, Banana, Ann T - and so was expecting similar quality, but was send abysmal quality stuff from the so called "new and up coming" brands. The quality was so poor that I feel like it's a cover for rejected items from elsewhere. Cancelling my subscription - I hope they can take this criticism positively and make an effort to cater to the customers who want high quality. I say the customer service is good. Contact number is hard to find, but you can leave notes to the stylist - so I disagree to previous comments complaining about customer service. The stylist also listened to me - she did send me clothes that were either all cotton or silk the second time around. Good effort, good service, great concept but need to improve quality of clothes by a lot.

StitchFix fixed me!
July 15, 2017

My sister-in-law referred me. After reading your latest reviews, had she not, I would not have given it a try. I've seen her a multiple family parties lately and she always looks fantastic (she did before too but something is different now, she's added more color to her wardrobe because of you). I got my first shipment. The shopper hit the nail on the head 5x! The quality is great. The prices were a bit high but not exorbitant. Not to have to go to a store and try on a million things to leave with nothing was awesome. Definitely worth the try. If you hate the first shipment, try again and be more specific and honest. One shot is not enough. Looking forward to my next shipment.

A co-worker suggested this site to me. I absolutely hate to shop so I figured, why not? I was very frank and honest about my likes and dislikes, my preferred colors. I allowed access to my Pinterest and posted clothes that I liked. I wanted work clothes that were "classic" not trendy. I did not want jeans with holes, nothing country. I wanted clothes that could be worn from season to season. I am petite, with small waist but curvy bottom, I range from 4-6 so needed some help with pants and skirts. I live in Florida and wanted lightweight clothes. I stated my clothing budget typically is $150 a month, so the cheaper the better.
First fix-
1) black dress, some sort of cotton, wrinkle free material, boring, but it fit.
2) jeans. Made of some weird stretch, polyester material, with elastic waist
3) blue lace skirt
4) white skimpy very sheer country type top
5) must have been truly awful. Can't even remember what it was
I felt guilty about not liking my fix, so I kept the over priced black dress. $88.00. If I had kept it all it was around $238.00 after my 25% and $20.00 "credit ". I left detailed critique for my stylist, again asking for work pieces, preferably complete outfits, and some color as I had enough blue and black. Nothing country.
Second fix:
1) BLUE cotton lace detail top, sleeveless "country like" $44.00
2) BLUE and white printed Aline skirt, on paper looked like a square, not flattering $78
3) BLUE embroidered crochet like dress. $68.00
4) Pink skinny jeans $98.00!
5) Floral casual top that looks like a bad Hawaiian shirt $36
Total to keep all $223.00.
I immediately put them all in the bag and returned everything and cancelled my automatic shipments. Also got a different stylist who clearly did not read anything about my preferences or my comments from the last fix.

I just had a baby and wanted some nice tailored clothes that wouldn't make me look dumpy and disheveled. I told them I was a 39 year old mom and professor. They sent me clothes that weren't tailored and were suitable for either a 16 year old or a grandma.

After I sent feedback, they waived the styling fee and asked to try again. Thos box was even worse. Clothes were perfect for a clown.

Quality was questionable at best, and I did not opt for the "cheaper the better" option. I was very specific about my style, even gave access to my Pinterest board. 1st fix I sent detailed review of everything I didn't keep and why. Same with 2nd fix, in addition I called the customer service line (which was incredibly difficult to find online) and gave her detailed instructions as well. The 3rd fix was the worst one yet. I don't know what more I can do when I tell them multiple times that I don't like jeans with rips, and they send me ripped jeans. In addition, in order to speak to a customer service representative you have to really hunt for it on the internet, as they do not post it anywhere on their websites. A highly disappointing experience.

Horrendous
June 3, 2017

Absolutely awful. Save the money go get it yourself. Worst thing you could do.
Get a box off stuff want one thing cost you an arm and a leg. Then you better get it back in the mail the next day or you bought the whole box it seems.
Worst way to buy anything

Stop hating
May 31, 2017

Maybe before hating on Stitch Fix you should look at what's your own fault. You can't expect a miracle in your first fix when you weren't even clear on what you wanted. Just shut up and continue shopping at Walmart. Stitch Fix has completely made over my whole closet, and my style. They are awesome.

I was very excited about this until I recieved the first shipment... I didn't really like anything in the box however I did keep one top because I hated sendind everything back. I was expecting complete outfit shoes jewelry etc. No jewelry no shoes one pair of pants, a jacket and 2 tops. I thought well hopefully the next one will be better... absolutely not I actually think it was worse! I recieved two tops exactly alike but different colors, a dress with long sleeves might I add its 90 degrees outside, a pair of shorts and an ugly pair of Toms... Needless to say I sent it all back and cancelled my account a total waste of my money! Save yourself the trouble go do your own shopping!

I finally decided to sign up for stitchfix as I have little time to shop and thought it would be fun to receive customized pieces. I was very specific about my tastes (I wear a lot of pink and black and like retro/polka dots and whimsical stuff). And I'm 42. No offense to anyone here, but it looks like they raided the closet of a senior citizen and sent to me. Colors were awful (I don't care for purple and got lots of purple), heavy pants in the spring (really?), and just plain awful and overpriced. I was appalled that they picked these clothes out for me, after pinning and linking tons from pinterest. What a joke. I cancelled immediately and couldn't wait to send everything back. I still like the idea of it and my check out Gwynnie Bee. Don't waste your time on stitchfix.

I've ordered 5 or 6 boxes from Stitch Fix now. The pieces always fit great and are tailored to my style. It helps that I have a Pinterest board for the stylists to look at. I've even gotten a few pieces that I pinned. As far as their customer service, I had a seam open up on a coat that I only had a a month. I contacted them, sent a picture and they told me that they can send me a new coat or give me a 100% refund. Also they said I could keep the "damaged" coat. This happened with another product a few boxes later. I contacted them and sent a picture of the damage and I was given the same options. They stand behind having nice quality products and if the quality does not meet their standards, they will do what they can to make it better.

I just saw a TV ad for stitch fix. I can't believe it still exists. I filled out a questionnaire and said about three different places that I needed work appropriate clothes and was not interested in low cut tops. Nearly everything they sent me was flimsy, the wrong size, and -- you guessed it -- slit down nearly to my navel. I'm too embarrassed to admit how much money I spent and ended up getting only one thing in three shipments. Man, that was an expensive pair of black jeans -- and they ended up faded after about five wash loads.

What a mess...
April 17, 2017

I really wanted to like this service. I was specific about my size, accurately filled out the style profile, provided my age (31), and occupation, and what I was looking to achieve with my "fixes". My first box was "fine" at best. They sent me extremely low cut pants that fit well, but I would not have worn, a cute tank top that had a button missing-exchanged this for one that did to have a button missing, only to find that the first time I washed it, it shrank beyond repair (btw I followed cate instructions to the tee)- a knit blazer which was cute but too big, and a strangely oversized canvas bag. Like other posters, I felt like it was overpriced, but I gave detailed and honest feedback and sent it all back, for the exception of the tank top which I had replaced. I would have liked the blazer, but they no longer had he size I needed.
Fast forward to my next fix. Wow. Literally the ugliest and most ill-fitting pieces I have ever seen in my life. First, they sent me the blazer in the size I wanted but a different color, a completely age-inappropriate baby blue, patterned dress that looked like something a two year old would wear for Easter, a navy blue polyester polka dot sleeveless shirt-hideous-a burnt orange dolman sleeve top- looked and felt cheap and also, it's not 2003- and a "gold" necklace with plastic marble detail. PLASTIC. DETAIL.
I could have saved my $20 and bought a higher quality outfit at Target. I thought someone was playing a joke on me. I immediately sent it back and wrote an email to cancel my account. The email I received from customer service was cordial enough, but I would have liked for them to a) offer to refund my $20, or to b) offer to send the next fix on them. Obviously, I would have paid for the pieces I wanted. Needless to say, neither happened.
Take away:
*cheap clothes - although they all appear to be made in the USA so I guess that's a perk.
*Extremely overpriced.
*i hate shopping but I would rather go shopping than yo use this service again.

I went into detail about my preferences, I held nothing back. I opened three boxes to be sorely disappointed each time. I told them I was hot natured yet they sent winter items in the spring. I told them no accessories they sent a cheap bracelet. They sent one blouse in royal blue I wanted badly but it was dry clean only. Nope.
I wasn't hard to please I just wanted them to listen but it seemed like their only goal was to charge that $20.00 fee and ship out five items that weren't thought through. I really wish the stylist had cared.

I am not a cheap person but I received my first and last box today. At first I sort of liked the items but I commented that the quality was not up to par then I saw the prices! OMG this little white top (which was very poor quality) was $138! And the shoes ( which I can get online I am sure for half the price) were $78 I was absolutely shocked at how expensive the items were. AND then found out you only have 3 days to return. I am surprised this is still in business

A dispointment
March 31, 2017

I got my first and last box on 3/30. I was so disappointment when I looked inside and noticed that I hated everything. After they receive this return my plan is to cancel service because it wasn't worth the wait or time I took to complete the questionnaire.

Don't waste your time or your money! It's a decent concept, however you can shop online and have multiple trends and styles sent to you from many retailers like Nordstrom, Macy's or Neiman Marcus, depending on your budget, shipped to you free! Try them on and return (for free) within 30-90 days; not 3 days! They even have free personal stylist.

Personally I'm rather disappointed with lack of response from Stitchfix. They advertise that you can cancel at anytime. However, they've made it very difficult to do so. After repeated attempts to cancel online without success I emailed them. No response! Bad business from my perspective not to allow customers to cancel as easily as they signed up or respond to inquiries.

My advice... don't do it!

Well worth trying if you are undecided. The clothing is nice quality, and having someone select items for you is better than shopping with friends! Out of seven boxes so far, I've kept one item from only one box, 2 boxes where all 5 found a new home with me, and the other boxes, range 2-3 items. Al the clothing I've kept have become basic go-to items and are worn all the time. I am enjoying the free time formerly spend shopping on more productive or useful activities. Pricewise... maybe higher than TJ Maxx or Marshalls but not having to pick over the racks at those stores, looking at sad hanger worn pulled or ripped clothing is worth it to me.

Waste of time and money!
February 18, 2017

My daughter received a $50.00 gift certificate for Christmas... Signed up got the first box, totally not her style. Sent it back, they charged us a styling fee and service charge so now her gift certificate is down to $20.00! Next box a bit better style wise but nothing in the box was $20.00, very overpriced! She got a pair of leggings and it cost me $21.00!
Needless to say no longer in their system. Had to call to cancel next box which was on its way! Crazy! Oh and love that they only give you 3 days to return all the stuff that you don't want! Delivered on a Friday, so that means you have to ship on Sunday... SCAM! They make money on all your delays and charge you "styling fees" for the clothes you don't want?

I love the idea of stitch fix - a personal stylist picks out outfits for you and sends them to your front door, and if you don't like them, send them back for free. Yeah! Sign me up! But in reality, the clothes are quite mediocre in style and quality, but with designer prices. $60-80 for tops, $80-100 for pants. Items you could get at Kohls. I wish I could say it's great, because I would love to love it.
