This is the first negative review I have ever written and it truly saddens to do so. Especially on these shoes because I love these shoes.
I bought these shoes in December of 2019, so I have owned them for about 5 months now. And as you can imagine, I haven't really even worn them the last 2 months because we have been locked in at home and my shoes of choice are slippers! I put them on 2 weeks ago and the chain just snapped while I was standing in my kitchen. I was so bummed. I am not one to spend a ton of money on shoes because I would rather spend my money on other things - like travel and family, etc. I decided to treat myself with these shoes. I kindly reached out to customer service and explained the situation. The first response I received flatly said "it's been longer than 30 days, so my request to return does not meet their policy". OK. I never asked to return them, I asked if they would replace them. These expensive shoes should last longer than 3-4 months, don't you agree? I kindly responded again and explained that I love the shoes and I don't want to return them, but I was hoping they could replace the broken shoe. Because that is the right thing to do. And that is how you put the customer first. The next email I received verbatim "Unfortunately, too much time has passed since your order was delivered and we are no longer able to assist."
Steve Madden has always been a brand I admired and purchased from. I'm extremely saddened and disappointed with this latest interaction.
In closing, I would recommend you not buy these shoes (even though they are comfortable and cute) because they will last you a few months and then you will be stuck with a $100+ pair of shoes that you cant wear and they won't do the right thing.
Unfortunately, this will be my last purchase I ever make with you guys.
I bought a pair of sneakers, my card was charged and still have no confirmation email for my order. I email Steve Madden South Africa and was told send proof of payment n I did just that. After I waited to be told what to do but nothing. I just regret. I called customers service n nothing..

Order shoes on 4/3. Said shoes had to be preorder this is 5/19! No shoes said shoes would be released on 5/11! Never again will I order from them!

Ordered a pair of sandals on April 1, my order was confirmed' and my credit card was charged for the item. Fast forward to May 5 and still no sign of them. I have followed up with customer service 3 times via email, receiving the same template response each time. Here's hoping they arrive before winter. Given 1 star for abysmal customer service... Will never order from this company again.

I ordered 2 items with a reward that I had and after the reward, I only ended up paying $1 plus $9 for shipping. I received a box from steve madden with only one of the items inside. I emailed to ask why I had only received one item and they said the other was still processing and that I would get an email when it shipped. Fast forward 2 weeks and I still hadn't heard anything so I emailed again. They told me the item had sold out but not to worry because they hadn't charged my credit card. I checked my credit card and found a charge for the whole $10 amount even though I hadn't received one of the items. I emailed them and explained the situation and they told me that "these things happen." No they don't! First of all, if an item is sold out, take it off the website. I asked what they were going to do about it and they said nothing. They told me that if I wanted my reward back, I'd have to return the item that I did receive and that I wouldn't get back the money that I spent on shipping. I asked if they'd be able to send me the same item in a different color or give me a credit for the cost of the item I didn't receive and they said no. I've never been more disappointed with how a billion dollar company handled such a simple customer service issue. I order online frequently and have never had an item be out of stock after I paid for it. I can't believe I have ever purchased shoes from here. I absolutely will never again and I have already told everyone I know to do the same. Please spare yourself the disappointment and stress and stay as far away from this sorry excuse for a company as possible! I wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered!

I would truly give this company negative stars if I could. I ordered the travel tan sandals on their website and I was informed they could only be "pre-ordered" aka they charged my credit card in February for shoes they shipped in April. Even though I had 2 day shipping the shows arrived 10 days later (customer service refused to help). The shoes are DEFECTIVE- the soles between the left and right foot are not even the same size by a long shot (pictures attached). What's worse was that customer service was basically useless and tried to buy me off with a 25% discount for DEFECTIVE shoes and said they couldn't exchange it for me because the shoes were out of stock again. Even worse, I've tried posting a review warning other customers to check if their shoes match up and aren't defective like mine on their website and they don't even publish my review... shadiest company in the world. Buyers please make sure your shoes aren't defective like mine- they told me they don't resell defective shoes, yet asked me to send mine back? I will not be a customer anymore. This company is the definition of buyer beware!

Bought a Steve Madden belt from DSW in late December. Within two months the belt frayed, separated and on February 14th the belt buckle literally fell off. Buyer beware!

I ordered the khloe shoe in November they came and was way to small I then took them back to the cross county location in Yonkers, NY they was supposed to send me a bigger size for me not to receive them I called the customer service # who advised that I have to go back to the store which I don't know why when I originally brought online any how I go back to the store who then tells me oh it says delivered I advised I never received them I now want my money back they said Oh we have to give your store credit because the rep who returned them didn't give an option to put back on your card. After I had to settle to get a store credit the employee said next time you need to come back sooner because this was from Dec 7th which I had to advise I work a great deal of hours what's why I order online I shouldn't have to go through the hassle to only end up with a store credit that I don't freaking want just a disappointment

Ordered shoes from them and paid for 2 day shipping. Never received confirmation email but they made sure to take the money out of my account. 6 days later no shoes and tracking number has literally no information, just says label created. Called customer service and they say they don't know when shoes will arrive but will open investigation. OH and now the shoes are sold out! Didn't think a company like Steve Madden that has been in the business for so long runs their online business so terribly. I should have spent the extra money and purchased from Nordstroms.

Preordered a bootie on 10/5. Received an expected ship date of 10/10. That date came and went. When I went back the Steve Madden site, my order was changed to expected ship date of 10/30. When I emailed them to look into this, they admitted that they actually do not know when this shoe will actually ship! Wha? First and last time I'll be ordering from Stevemadden.com. Target makes decent knock-offs anyway.

How do you sell a customer a pair of sneakers. And that same item sell it to another customer. That's what happened to me when I brought a pair of sneakers from Steve Madden Brooklyn location.
This company is without a doubt my favorite shoe company. Have never ordered anything online because each shoe fits a little different, so would recommend going to the store and trying on before purchasing. Love love love every pair of shoes that I have purchased. I purchase all my nice heels and sandals from this company. Extremely comfortable, at least the ones I bought, and great quality. Love this brand!
Was shopping out of town at Steve Madden and the store was out of stock of the shoe I wanted to buy my son for Christmas. Sales girl told me she could order them and they would be in before Christmas. She ordered the shoes for me on December 14 and they had still not arrived by the 22nd. Contacted SM and was told my order had been canceled because shoes were no longer available. However, they were still charging me and it was my responsibility to go back to the store to get a refund.
I won't order from Steve Madden again. If they can't get something right, which is as simple as a gift card, they obviously have order processing problems. It took 3 separate orders over 2 weeks in order to purchase 1 gift card. Even then, the order was cancelled by them and I was not notified. Now, the card will not arrive on time for the birthday.
They are simply not worth the hassle.
Firstly I brought a Pair of Steve Madden slip on Trainers for around £70 from John Lewis and not SteveMadden.com.
Online they are cheaper but there is NO SHIPPING OPTIONS TO THE UK, which is a real disappointment as they can be brought for less. (This is why one star has been deducted.)
The shoes feel heavy and good quality, at first they were really stiff and hard to break into which was annoying.
They are a more stylish version of "normal" trainers which I love.
Overall I am really pleased with them and they are comfortable and appear to be hard wearing and are OK for the money but better value online.
The shoes overall are perfect, highly recommend the brand.
I ordered the "Stecyy" heel on Wednesday (before 1pm) and paid for 2 day shipping but it got to my front door the next day! Shipping was great but the shoes are very expensive and sitewide coupons have a lot of exclusions
This was my first time ordering shoes on the internet. I was greatly disappointed when I opened my package and found one shoe only! I had ordered two pairs but only 3 shoes. I called immediately and they told me they would look for the missing shoe to send it to me only to tell me they could not find it. They would then send me a return label only until they received the shoe they would send the new shipment. That meant time spent on the phone, having to drop off at the post office and then wait again for the shoes. I decided then to return everything. They are now charging me the "handling fee" plus what I paid for shipping is done cost. I spoke with representative then manager and both were worthless and offered a 10% discount on my next online purchase for the inconvenience! Their email system is also reductant. They don't keep track of any of your previous emails and you need to repeat yourself countless times. Customer service is only available certain hours a day not like 24hrs for purchases. Once they got you instead of serving you better as a consumer they treat you like you're nothing. I will never shop on this site again! I hope you don't either! You will regret you ever did! Their shoes are not even that great! The dmv has better customer service than they do! Sincerely, Customer Service Is Everything.
I ordered a supposed size 13 sandal, it was a bit too small, and I could not return it because they said it was a sale item. So how am I expected to try on a shoe? I should have never ordered from them, I wish I would have read the fine print:(
By the way that pair of sandals ended up breaking after 2 weeks, could be because it was a bit small on me, but it was an expensive pair of leather sandals, my plastic mexican bought sandals have outlasted the steve maddens!
Received my order a couple of days ago from stevemadden.com and the ankle boots are fab. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 only because they don't offer more shipping options. They don't offer USPS shipping, only FedEx or UPS... which we all know charge insanely high brokerage fees. To my surprise, I only had to pay FedEx $19.74cad in fees this time. The last time I had shoes sent to me via FedEx from solestruck.com, I had to fork out over $80cad. So the fees were actually decent this time around. And the Customer Service Department was extremely helpful, fast & prompt in assisting me with the revision of my order in a different shoe size. Ordering from stevemadden.com during their 25% off Friends & Family sale saved me $50 compared to if I had purchased them for full retail price locally at the mall. :)

Answer: It used to take less than a week from ordering to get your shoes. As of late, their warehouse coffeemaker must be broken or their staff are underpaid and miserable because, the orders aren't being shipped. Order from Steve Madden if a) you appreciate the element of surprise: will your shoes arrive? Will they be the size you ordered?; or b) considering ordering a style you anticipate preferring a year or so from now, or maybe never.
