I would like to thank StarNow platform as it has given me amazing opportunities to meet like minded actors and professionals and from simple extra roles in short student films to supporting and lead roles in feature films, music videos to just within a month to be on a set and work alongside the celebrities of Made in Chelsea, Comedy Central, The Wright Stuff, Chanel 4, BBC and ITV. I can not express how uplifting and inspiring is this to have an opportunity to do this all and live through this experiences that one never imagined would be possible for someone who came from medical professional background and not in early 20s.
I am very optimistic and aim to stay with STarNow and act even more and encourage others too keeping in mind it is a platform where the opportunities are given and we need to be diligent and act accordingly. Stay away from StarNow Australia - they are scammers! I paid for a casting call and they won't approve it or give me a refund. I'm going to have to change my bank card now as it looks like from everyone else's experience they deduct money from cards when they feel like it. I put a complaint into Fair Trading and forwarded the email to Starnow, along with numerous Instagram messages and emails to ask for a refund, and they have ignored me. Be warned about this company, and don't be fooled by the followers they have on social media. This company will rob you blind!

I uploaded 3 songs to my Starnow profile & paid my subscription fee on March 1st.
When I did a search for my profile the next day, it stated "This member does not have any audio tracks."
I emailed them to say there was a fault, & also asked for their phone number.
I received a standard reply from 'Renee' saying "it can take 24 hours to embed and show in the talent directory search. Please let us know if it is still not working after this time."
So I did.
I emailed back saying it's still not working & can someone please contact me. I'm still waiting for a reply, and my profile STILL says there's no audio. It's been a week now & they've got my 30 quid. And there's no phone number to call. (Very convenient.) I feel ripped off.
Appalling service.

We have been using Star Now since January of this year and my daughter has had a few good results. Even this morning my daughter was doing a video shot for a music video in Brick Lane, London. Great morning full of fun. As always, it was nice to speak with all the other parents to exchange advice ect and have a laugh. We have had to turn down a few other offers over the last month or two due to being busy. However, you need to watch out for the odd few scammers that use Star Now as a platform to give false hope for financial gain. So DO NOT part with money if you turn up for a casting for modelling and then they tell you money is required up front for photographs to be taken of you, OR help to build a portfolio/web portfolio at a fee. A good well established, reputable modelling agency will not require up front fees or suddenly hit you with fees to do photographs. Also avoid Angle Wings that claim to do auditions for short Disney films that require you to attend a two day course for £450 for the chance to be seen by their producer when she flies over from Los Angeles. So basically they make children and teenagers think the only way to be in with a chance to get on a Disney short film is by paying £450 for a two day course so that you can be seen by the person who makes all the decisions. I looked into their payments page and the address they had given was that of a mall box and a virtual office set up. This means there is no way of getting hold of anyone because they do not have an office. Con artists are known to use Virtual Offices for obvious reasons. That said, it's my understanding Star Now have been cracking down hard on the odd scam artists that place advertisements on their web site effectively shutting them out. I would recommend Star Now because my daughter has gained so much experience and most importantly had great fun. In addition to this, she has made many new friends. Do your home work/checks before and after you apply to any advertisements and like everything else in life be careful so you don't get disappointed.

I've had a great experience using StarNow, it's helping me build an online artist portfolio. As a recent graduate and art Major, I seek to implement what I have learnt in school. StarNow has given me the oppertunity to do so. Oppertunities can be paid, or voluntary, which allows action for enjoyment or work. StarNow staff are quiet compliment, although I admit they can take a bit of time to get back to you (but not everyone can reply right away, so it's forgiveable). An affordable priced site, and well organized.

Anyone seeking to enjoy themselves with their talents should sign up to this site. However, keep your expectations not too high, because jobs are awarded both on experience and talent. I find doing voluntary work has built up my portfolio and is now helping me get paid jobs. (Just as some advice)

Now I'm writing this in response to all the negative reviews I've just seen on here. I am astounded. I am a jobbing actress and over the years I've had a lot of both paid and unpaid acting jobs via StarNow. I can only say that this site works if you put in the work and do quality applications and apply for jobs every day, not just one film role now and then but every day. I am even wondering if the negative reviews on here are being written by rival casting websites? My name is Theresa Roche, please Google me - it will prove I am not a member of STarNow staff. The site works if you work at it proactively - if you are not applying daily for multiple roles then no, you won't get cast. Don't blame a good resource for actors for your own laziness or, I hate to say it, unsuitability for a role you have fancied yourself perfect for. Rejection is part of the actor's life but successes are within reach for those prepared to work at it.

These people are shameless thieves - I have no doubt whatsoever that all of the positive reviews on here have been created by Starnow themselves.

Casting directors do not use sites like these, if you want to get into acting get yourself an agent.

Their 'service' is non existent, they do nothing at all, it's basically just a like a social network for actors to meet each other - NOT directors or producers.

Last but not least, I the £60 annual subscription renews automatically, "so you can concentrate on looking for acting jobs". I suppose then, Starnow, that you'll be happy to reimburse anyone who accidentally stayed subscribed after never using your non-existent service?
