Word of warning - if you are an actor looking for professional acting work, StarNow is not for you.

The job listings are 99% student films, promo work or unpaid. Very low end jobs that in no way will help to further an acting career.

Spotlight and Mandy are far superior casting services for actors (Facebook groups are even a better way to get acting work and thats free!).

I made a huge mistake signing up for six months. Hopefully I will prevent others from doing the same!

StarNow is, without a doubt, a such great platform for both talents and casting professionals. Hugh thanks to you guys, I have been getting so many exciting opportunities and get to meet and work with such amazing people. At this very moment, I am on my way to be feathered in a Music Video. It's been only couple of months that I have been active with StarNow, I have really truely been getting unbelievably amazing opportunities, just for this week inself, I've been consecutively booked for paid jobs, shortlisted or on hold or been in touch with casting professionals.
What more to say. Try see it for yourself.

Not a very good service, particularly in comparison to industry sites such as Casting Call Pro. Much more annoyingly, I cancelled the paid part of my service in the first half of October, when I was pretty sure I had done so earlier in the year. Nonetheless, I cancelled, only to be billed once again in mid-November. I logged in to see that I was again signed up on the paid service, despite having cancelled.

Even more annoyingly, I was told that I would not be refunded, as I would only be entitled to a refund within the first 60 days of having got the service.

So apparently StarNow have decided that they can ignore cancellations and bill as they please, given the consumer no refund or recourse.

Avoid. There are better far, far better resources anyway, such as Casting Call Pro and Spotlight.

Starnow is an incredibly simple and all inclusive service that brings together people from all corners of the artistic world. I started off 3 years ago with a profile and a few pictures, and after hours and days of diligent searching and carefully thought out applications, i started getting jobs. I got an audition for a recording studio which later offered me a recording contract through starnow, my whole band and all the backups i found o starnow. Most of the venues, all the photographers, festivals, promoters. All from an app on my phone.
Well worth every penny and i rely completely on it.

I love StarNow, and part of that is because you guys take such care to design a mutually valuable user experience. I promote it all the time on that basis -- StarNow beats the hell out of signing away ones entire career to a single gatekeeper agency.

I believe StarNow is strongly positioned to make important beneficial changes to the way the talent finding industry works, and to combat the exploitative practices of many agencies. There is so much work to be done to level the playing field to allow fair treatment for honest work, and by evaluating feedback like mine on transparency for the talent community you demonstrate that StarNow has talents' best interests at heart.

Thank you for acting on my previous feedback on enforcing fee disclosure by fee-charging companies, and for evaluating my UX recommendations for disclosing fee-based work at the "first look" level.

Hi! I'm writing to tell you that my experience with StarNow has been truly awesome! I've only been on full membership for one month, but I absolutely love the way it is set up. They make it so easy for me! I'm a singer/songwriter and aspiring actress from the U.S. looking for work and I already got my first job and have been able to apply for many more. Where else can I display all of my talents, apply for unlimited castings, view and encourage others like myself from all over the world, and advertise myself so easily? You get back as much as you are willing to put in. This is my first attempt to get exposure on social media and I can honestly say it is fun-tastic! And let me tell you, I have been an inactive member for free for years and never thought to take this seriously until now. But their emails kept on coming over the years and thankfully, and after the misfortune of losing my job, I decided to advance to full member and go for a job that I saw posted on their website. Wouldn't you know, I got the first job I applied for? Now I'm getting exposure and doing what I love. Even if the beginning jobs are not paid, I'm still able to collaborate with other musicians on line and that is so amazing! Do you know how hard it is to go at this on your own? Trust me, I know. I've been performing live for over 14 years and the struggle is real. I wish all the team at StarNow much success and I hope you get much more popular in the U.S. This is much needed here. Your website is a godsend. It certainly keeps a mature aged lady on her toes.
I recently applied for a job on "StarNow", and I got it!... I rode a bike for the day!
MATURE MALE AND FEMALE EXPERIENCED ACTORS NEEDED FOR WELL PAID TVC.
My pretend hubby and I had such a great day!
Then I got together again for VO, which I love doing.
I am in the middle of an independent Full Feature Horror called 'Saving Grace'. I am also about to embark on a tropfest black comedy, Behind Closed Doors, as Gwen, a saucy, fun lady.

This is all recent and from "StarNow", so good on you, and keep it coming!

Thanks to StarNow I have a fair few projects on the go at the moment and hope to get cast again real soon.
Two of the shorts I did recently (lead roles), that were cast through StarNow, have been entered into the Galway Film Fleadh (Festival). And a StarNow casting that I played the lead in last year was shown at the Cannes Short Corner this year!
I also cast a short that I wrote through StarNow and that worked out very well.
I find the job application process as well as the casting process real straightforward with plenty of ongoing feedback as the process evolves.
So high hopes for the future all round.

We placed a casting call but due to 1 discrunteled applicant that we did not approve to enter, starnow canceled our account. All our paid leads now can no longer reach us which is a pure scam. After checking, our lawyers confirmed we did not break any rules or regulations. We lost time and money. Quality on the site is poor, mostly Australian residents.
Our advise; its not worth posting your casting here. For applicants; Modelmayhem is a far better choice with better assignments.

Further to my review about StarNow taking artists money and then advertizing posts which have nothing to do with our industry. Here is, exactly word for word, the response they send out every time I contact them about this. Apparently, they cannot even be bothered to reply personally, just send me a stock letter...
