I bought a 5-year Protection Plan after purchasing a 55-inch TV from Costco. The TV failed after 3-1/2 years. Unfortunately, it was registered under an email address that no longer exists due to change in employment. After multiple attempts to re-register the purchase with a current email address, I realized I had entered an "endless do-loop." Every attempt, including calling two 800 numbers, began with "enter the email the item was registered with." Then they send a reply to that email in order to confirm the legitimacy of the claim. Since it's no longer possible to receive mail at that email address, it's impossible to continue! That must be the intent of the whole scam. I tried to enter this claim on a desktop, laptop, and iPhone, even trying to "establish a new account" -- all three lead to a dead end! The "no-service" 800 numbers are all computer-generated voice-assistants. Totally worthless.
Even if I had the current email address, I doubt seriously that I could have collected a nickel on this legitimate claim. I had always thought Allstate (the carrier for Square Trade) was a reputable company, but no longer! Glad I don't have my homeowner's or auto insurance with them!
I recently tried to file a claim and it was denied. The warranty covers mechanical failures.My phone is waterproof and the mechanical seal failed and water got in a manufacturer defect which should be covered. They are selling something they misrepresent.
I pay a family plan. I have our 1st claim. I send my phone in on a Tuesday and by fri still no phone. Check tracking and it says it will arrive Mon. 6 days later. It was fixed yesterday, Friday in the am. Overnight would be today Saturday. But of course they'll say we don't deliver on Sat. BS one day crap. A total lie.
Buyers be aware of Square Trade a division of Walmart Allstate Protection Plan when you purchase warranties. Walmart gives you credit Only for purchased price of the item. For warranties, you have to contact Allstate Prot. Plan. Even if you file a claim for refund, that does not guarantee you will receive a credit, it requires repeat efforts to get your money back. I suggest to contact Walmart CEO by email or tel.
Double billed me, and then proceeded to keep billing me even after cancellation. Tried to get answers, but was told it was possible that someone had my card information, so if that's the case, they would only use my card to have an install plan? SquareTrade has no way to look into what plans are connected to my bank account due to privacy reasons, but that is my bank account? Are they implying JB Hi-Fi used my details since they're the only ones thay have the information aside from them. Felt no reassurance from them whatsoever, and was in contact with them for 2 months, where I had to keep on contacting themselves even though they kept saying the would.
Call with a claim to be told that it does not cover accidental damaged, so why would I buy insurance for, will apparently you should read the fine print, and by the way if u dont use the insurace you can have your money back, so I guess get your money back if you do t use it.
I bought a palm through Walmart that clearly said it covers accidents when I went to file the claim they said it only covered mechanical issues. Online there is no option for a mechanical only plan m, thr first thing it says is accidents.not even a option to purchase mechanical only plan now my iPad is broke and they refuse to fix it money wasted!
I am currently holding for answers from Allstate for the 10+ time. I was supposed to recieve my computer two weeks ago. I still do not have it. I had requested a change of address to redirect the package (i was on vacation and was told the package would be delivered during my time on vacation). One rep said he did that one week ago, but that sometimes "fedex doesn't accept change of addresses." Called Fed Ex they said they have never rejected a claim. So Allstate lied to me, though, it was referred to as a "misstatement." by another representative. This company is a con. I trusted that my computer would be delivered to me two weeks ago, and because of the restrictions put on by Allstate - I can't do anything about getting it returned to me. ONLY allstate can make changes - and they haven't been willing or able to do that. Since they have had my computer for a month, if i don't receive my computer...or reimbursement of my computer...I will be filing a police report of theft.
Update. I still do not have my laptop and no one can tell me definitely where it is. It's been one month since it was supposed to be delivered. When I last wrote my complaint...I have had at least 5 more conversations, not counting the endless emails I've sent that have not been returned. They promised me a refund of the $99, which I have not received either. The kicker...if I want to provide a notice of arbitration...I have to spend another $250 in order to file it. I already had to buy a replacement computer because Allstate has held up my computer since February 28th. I can't even believe how terrible this whole process has been. Do they think I'll just forget about my $1000 computer?
I want my computer...or I want to be reimbursed.
I bought a furniture from Wayfair and bought protection plan with square trade. My furniture broke and I filed a claim. It was approved and I was told I will receive gift card from them. My nightmare started right after. They send me email with gift card which I could not open. Anyways, I emailed them numerous times for over a month and called them multiple times to resolve this issue. Nothing happened. I also had Wayfair representative on the line when I spoke to Squaretrade. They kept saying that gift card was issued and cashed. We asked them to provide the email address it was sent to and proof that it was cashed. At first they said they will provide the information and then sent me an email rejetcing my claim. I would not have paid extra money to buy this protection plan if I knew I would be scammed. Stay away from this company.

Each time I do a chat they promise to send me a new password that will work. I either get a password that doesn't work or I don't get one at all. I asked for an address to I can file a complain and get a refund for all the policies that I purchased that I can't access and they won't provide that. Seems they are just there to collect money and stick it to the customer. This has been going on for 6 months. I will never buy another policy and would not recommend anyone else does.
I filed my claim through the Allstate square trade website March 17th for my microwave. I had the 3 year protection plan. The microwave is smoking and popping. The claim was accepted and I chose the gift card reimbursement because it said I would receive the refund within one day. Received an email saying I would receive the email within one day. Never received a gift card. 5 calls later it is currently April 9th still no gift card. So much for getting a replacement microwave within a few days. It's been weeks. Still getting a run around on the phone, no solution has been made and no gift card. They refuse to send a check in the mail or reimburse my original payment method. I need to receive a call from Allstate and not square trade and I need a check in the mail.
We have been having issues with Square Trade for almost 2months! They give us the run-around, and always have excuses for why our refrigerator is not getting fixed! I have complained to BBB and ST wants us to retract our complaint or make it as if the "issue has been resolved" When it hasn't.
So upset and disappointed at their unprofessionalism, and lack of ethical practices!
I had a Samsung laptop I sent in to them because it was covered under a 4yr accidental plan. I needed the touchpad replaced. I get the laptop back and they replaced my touch SCREEN, not the trackpad, and the screen was defective with "phantom" touches. Needing it fixed fast, I had a friend who owns a local repair business fix it but even after he gave me an invoice/receipt SquareTrade refused to reimburse me for the repair cost even though the plan said they were supposed to.
I paid like $200 for a 4 year accidental plan and like another $200 out of pocket to get my device fixed by someone else. Learn the difference between a touch-PAD and a touch-SCREEN, goobers.
It was very quick and easy to buy and pay money for the square trade, but it's a big hassle, to deal with the hoops and loops to setup an appointment and get refrigerator fixed. Bought a Whirlpool refrigerator at Costco. LED lights are out again, second time. They were fixed just several month ago.
Called three times and waiting for two month now to have technician come out and fix it. Hopefully it was my last call to finally fix the problem. Company offer fix it withing 30 days or replace it. Sounds like it's not going to happen, misleading information.
The new appliances are very poor quality. Only three years old fridge, and LED lights are out a second time. Those lights are on only while the door is open, so total running time were maximum a few hours.
We bought a Tv from Target and got this warranty. We submitted a claim as soon as it broke down. The online service told me to call to complete the claim which I did, and they were closed. I called the next day, the agent wanted me to troubleshoot and move some settings when I clearly said the Tv image was completely gone. I sent in a video along with pictures and said they would take a business day to come up with a solution and the only thing I got is another email asking for even more proof of the issues. I am beyond frustrated with their loops to get them to cover our damages. Save your money and get another type of warranty for your electronics who actually respond when you need them to cover for what you pay for.
If you ever try to file a legitimate claim it will be denied, Worse company around don't waste your money.
I tried to file a claim over a week ago. I never gave them an email but they said I did and that I had to change it and wait 24-48 hours. It's been a week later and I keep getting told please wait 1-2 more business days.
Bought policy for new fridge at time of purchase for 5 years as ice makers are known to break and figure the $160 for 5 years was good deal as one call to repair would be more. Call and get message "You can only create a claim online" that is ridiculous!
Ok go to website and it will not let me do claim. Next call all state and forever on the phone, it refuses to give agent or representative and finally after about 10 minutes it times out and give rep. Then they took info and spend about 40 minutes and then finally they can't do anything with square trade and call them! WTF! Try calling square trade same message file online just kept pushing buttons and finally Indian woman picks up who i cannot understand at all. Accent and English language are just abysmal i just cannot understand enough to talk and realize how can i do policy info, ask for another rep 4 times and she just hangs up on me!
Now over 2 hours and finally another Indian woman who at least speaks a bit better English, long story of what? Say again? A 100 times. I give her policy number and she couldn't understand and kept messing up number, another 30 minutes finally gets it right...WTF
THEN she tells me my name and address and if it's right. Finally. Then i cannot understand what she is saying, keeps saying receipt what receipt. Puts on hold forever and a day, then some supervisor named DAVID supervisor #18, says i have to prove purchase, I am wtf you have policy number and i am on computer from purchase of 3 years ago. Now you demand a receipt of purchase? I gave them policy number and she confirmed my address, so i am on computer system, but you demand a receipt from 3 years ago that i bought online at time of buying fridge i don't have a receipt for that, then told basically no receipt no honoring insurance that is listed on their insurance system...so now having to have Costco history check and copy of purchase as its over 2 years old.
I have print out of policy number, date of start and end etc. and yet they refuse to honor because i cant show proof of purchase?

We purchased a Samsung microwave wall oven combo unit from Costco, a very expensive unit, almost $4000. Little over 2 years, the microwave handle has come loose. I submitted a claim for repair, probably takes a tech 30 min to fix. But, I was told these are cosmetic issues and do not impact the functionality of your appliance. So wait until the handle breaks off. Seriously!
Answer: Company takes forever doing anything. Refuses refunding when it cant repair something and will make up an excuse to void the warranty.
