I bought an LG combo washer dryer and purchased a 5 year protection plan with it. I have had issues with it in the past and Square trade paid out NO PROBLEM. But this time, I had to borrow the money to pay it, they had me in hold for over an hour today looking over my repair invoices, completely legit invoices, finally got someone who spoke English and he said he would call me back personally and get this handled. I then receive an email saying my receipt didn't have 4 pieces of information on it that were clearly in the receipt but, they never asked me for my purchase receipt, just my invoices. So I sent them with a nasty note and got yet another email back saying they can't process my claim and asked me to send it again so I did, 6 screenshots 3 times. This is $490 dollars I can't afford to pay my friend who used her savings to help me and she has nothing now too! This is absolutely disgusting, I will be contacting BBB and whatever legal resources possible.

I would have never gotten it fixed if I knew this would happen, never ever had an issue before.

The girl that originally approved my claim wasn't listening to me at all either. I had to repeat myself over and over again.

I could have financed a new unit on sale for all this. I'm so disgusted, ALLSTATE BETTER PAY ME, EXPEDITED!

This company is the worst company you can possibly deal with. Before it got sold to Allstate this company used to be decent, now that Allstate purchase it it's just insane how bad this company became. Customer service sucks. I tried to call customer service several times and ask to speak to a manager and I just got hang up on. When I open my warranty they try giving me less money than what i usually get in the past when i open the warranty claim with Square Trade. I told them I was never charged extra fees before and you definitely not going to charge me one now. At that time i was put on hold and when they got back i was told no additional feel is bein charged. Guys DO NOT LET them take any additional fees from you no matter what they tell you, it's all bunch of lies. They supposed to pay you all your money minus the tax. Also as you can see eBay is no longer using them. Because eBay knows this company became garbage since Allstate took over and hopefully Walmart is going to do the same shortly after, dropping them like a bad habit.

HORRIBLE MUST SEW
May 31, 2022

DO NOT BUY, I ordered this on accident and 5 minutes later placed a cancellation request on the item and the insurance after spending $130 dollars on this warranty and Square Trade will not even allow a refund when both orders are removed not even a full day after cancelling. Complete scam, additionally, the warranty was supposed to arrive after not refunding and the warranty never even came in the mail. This is the worst scam I have seen. If the order wasn't cancelled it would still be a scam.

Bogus company

Square trade fraudulently charged my credit card $120.00 on on item I bought on eBay for $400! Tried emailing them but only got an email from a computer generated responses! Beware! Scam company! I'm surprised Allstate insurance is their partner! Probably should beware of them too because of that association.

SquareFraud

I used SquareTrade the first, and last, time to insure an item purchased on eBay. The purchase was canceled and I requested a refund. SquareTrade's response was... crickets... crickets.

I believe that SquareTrade would not pay an insurance claim if, and when, filed. Avoid,

From Excellent to bad in a matter of months
May 27, 2022

Had Square Fade for a laptop purchased at Staples, spilled soda on it and no questions asked got a new laptop. Now, after buying a Hard Drive on eBay, I can't get an answer as to why I never got my Email contract. :/. It's sad but usually, this type of turn for the worst happens just before the company goes under. Why Allstate bought this company is beyond me. But expect your Allstate insurances to go up for the $1.4b they just flushed down the toilet. Oh, and BTW, eBay no longer backs Square Trade if you have an issue.

Inept is putting it kindly
May 26, 2022

So I purchased this most wothless of warranties on a 55" LG TV from Costco because why not? The TV, of course, failed after 3 years so I went to file a claim. I went into this assuming this would be a convoluted process simply because it's insurance, but wow, this proicess has been purposely setup so you (the consumer) will just give up. And after multiple emails and phone calls, I get to the point of sending them a requested video fo the problem happening. Well, my TV literally does nothing, so they got a video of the TV doing nothing, only to find out that its not acceptable and they need to see the problem happening.

With their latest claim of needing a new video of the problem happening, I give them yet another call just to be told that the video doesn't work. Video works just fine on my end, on multiple devices, so I send it again. She then proceeds to tell me the video is too short and in the wrong format. THEY TOLD ME TO MAKE IT LESS THAN 7 SECONDS AND IN MP4! I did exactly as they told me! Only to be told, nope, it needs to be at least 10 seconds long to be useful. At this point I am yelling through the phone and demanding to know what the next 5 hoops are just so I get jump through them in a timely manner. And that is where I have stopped so far in the process since I hung up out of sheer frustration.

This is a $500 TV, not a multiple thousand dollar piece of equipment. It should be this hard!

The insurance is on a refurbished computer monitor I purchased from newegg.com. I broke and I called to file a claim. They told me to call the manufacture. I did. They said it was not under warranty and to call their refurbished warranty department the next day. I did and it was about a week out of the 90 day warranty. So I called baclk squaretrade and allstate company and told them this. They started the process my claim. I asked them online written in chat if I could buy a used monitor off facebook market place. The online agent came back and said yes. I did that. I sent in a receipt of the purchase and screen shot of the monitor I purchased online. They denied the claim and said I need to bring it to repair shop. I'd like them to honor their word and pay out the claim like they said.
I would not have purchased a used monitor if they had said no. I want them to pay out the 249.00 claim. On a side note, best buy charges 100 dollars to look at a computer monitor and being a computer repair tech myself for 3 years there are 2 things that break in a flat panel monitor the screen and the main board. Both would cost more to replace then the warranty pay out of 249.
I talked to a manager, they reviewed the chat logs and they are going to follow the law and pay out the claim it seems. However this was awful, not easy, I had to threaten them with a complaint. I will not buy their warranty again.

I paid for this "insurance" in case my Air Pods needed protection, they started acting up. I reach out to Square trade, they have me go to my local Apple store since it's an approved retailer, I send the documents I was given from Apple store saying both Air Pods are needing to be replaced to Square Trade, they say those aren't acceptable, Ha! WHAT!?

Then I go to Geek Squad at Best Buy they deem the AirPods damaged, I take the document provided to me and send to Square Trade, they ONCE AGAIN tell me it's not complete. If you deem these businesses "approved retailers for service" why the HELL are you telling the customer they need to go again since the document provided aren't sufficient.
Your business is a complete sham and stupid.

I want my refund and I'm happy to share to everyone I know NEVER to buy Square Trade insurance since clearly they don't know what they are doing! I freely give this review.

I have had to resubmit the same documents 5 times so far and still no reimbursement. The people you chat with are rude but that's not even the worst of it. No wonder a two-year warranty cost me $2. You get what you pay for.

BUYER"S BEWARE. This company is easy to sign up for and that is where it ends. Filing claims and canceling is made nearly impossible. My advice is to stay away from any product or service using the Square Trade/ Allstate name. You've been warned.

Complete rip off!
May 12, 2022

I'm researching if this is sold as an extended warranty or additional warranty. It was presented as a two year extended warranty, however that's much less than true since my product had a one year manufactures' warranty, the SquareTrades warranty only covers the second year. In other words, a claim during the first year is answered to contact the manufacture. Who knows the second year! There is nothing "extended." It is one year consecutive and one year extended.

This warranty is a joke. Sent in a running laptop for a fan issue. They deemed it "unrepairable" kept the laptop and sent some of the purchase amount back (to add insult to injury, this laptop was priced at $629, paid about 200 for the plan. I had gotten this laptop on a black friday sale, so they based the worth of the laptop off the purchase price not the actual price... which is why they refused to fix or trade it...) never gave a choice to send it back. Won't even give the details on what made it "unrepairable".
They took it to fix it to flip it. WHAT A SCAM!

It was explained the 4 year extended service plan began at the conclusion on the 1 year warranty giving me 5 years total. Well a little past 4 years the Vizio died. Sorry I was told the 4 year Extended? Warranty ran concurrently with the 1 year warranty thus they denied what I was told I paid for. I guess extended service means you in essence paid for 4 additional years but get 3... why was that not explained? Lastly I have never gotten less than 10 years service from any of the many TVs I have owned and in fact more than 10 years on most. This says all you need to know about Vizio and Costco warranty providers. Wish I had kept receipt as there was no mention it ran concurrently with the mfg warranty. I through it away with the trash(Vizio)

I have been approved for reimbursement by email but have no check yet so the issue isnt resolved until I have the $$ in my hand. Also, the whole endeavor was a nightmare. The seller and manufacturer wouldnt warranty the 11 month old phone so I went to Square Trade who gladly took my money when it was time to buy but when it was time to pay, it took multiple interactions and then being told that proof of no other warranty to actually get paid back for the repair. So there is a very good chance that I will be going elsewhere to get extended phone warranties from now on. Honestly, the whole process was much better before AllState bought them.
